A couple of days ago, Inscryption made history by being the first game ever to have been awarded BOTH of the top prizes at the Independent Games Festival AND the Game Developers Choice Awards in the same year.
Currently, there are discounted sales for Inscryption that approximately matches the all-time historic low discount of ~30% across three digital storefronts (Epic Game Store, Humble Store, GOG) - between A$20.26 and $A20.29, so they should cover whatever your preferences are (Steam keys or DRM-free). Out of EGS, HBS, GOG, I chose the GOG's listing as I prefer DRM-free.
Game description. Trailer video
From the creator of Pony Island and The Hex comes the latest mind melting, self-destructing love letter to video games. Inscryption is an inky black card-based odyssey that blends the deckbuilding roguelike, escape-room style puzzles, and psychological horror into a blood-laced smoothie. Darker still are the secrets inscrybed upon the cards…
In Inscryption you will…
- Acquire a deck of woodland creature cards by draft, surgery, and self mutilation
- Unlock the secrets lurking behind the walls of Leshy's cabin
- Embark on an unexpected and deeply disturbing odyssey
I finished it for the first time a week ago, it took a while, there was so much more content than I thought. I actually thought for a while the first act was the only act, oh boy was I wrong.
The game itself is weird af, but I definitely enjoyed the playthrough.
I would recommend it, especially if you enjoy puzzle/cards/deckbuilding type games.
