    And $50 cashback - http://www.nespresso.com/promo/AU_en/yep.html

Also, it might be cheaper to use the discounted Good Guys vouchers if you're looking to get a Nespresso

EDIT: Actually, I think the $50 cashback is only available at participating retailers

  • Does the milk get put into the cup automatically or is it manual?
Also LMAO @ "patent pending" sad state we are at in software patents…

    • manual. it heats up in a completely separate jug, which just happens to have it's base attached to the main machine. you then lift it off (like a cordless kettle) to pour the milk out into your cup.

      • Thanks, I wonder if these coffee pods are any good?

I love my Nespresso machine :)

In my opinion they're great, theres like 20 or so different blends so you just need to find your fav. Mine is the purple one.

        • Compared to my espresso machine, no. But nespresso is 20x less fiddly, and no skills required. And nespresso is still a huge jump up from instant, or even poorly made manual espresso.

        • What he said ^^

        • Had mine for over a year and hasn't missed a beat. What I like about is that doesn't take much to operate it, and will get consistently nice coffee every time. Cleaning also breeze.

Since I had it, managed to convince others to get it and they've enjoyed it as well. No regrets all round.

How much this differ to the ones at Aldi/Other brands? Dont know…

        • Compared to aldi machine, not much difference in coffee quality from what I have read, when the aldi one is working properly.

HOWEVER, there seems to be a big variation in build quality on the aldi ones, so there's a lot of unhappy customers with ones that DON'T work properly. I can't recall hearing anyone complain about a faulty nespresso machine (not saying it hasn't happened, but I haven't seen it, and I do keep an eye on coffee related threads around the traps).

        • I use nespresso one at home and aldi one at work,

my aldi one has worked fine consistantly, and its cost savings is great.

check out the other nespresso citiz post

    http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/56608
    http://www.amazon.it/Krups-XN-7106-Nespresso%C2%AE-fire-engi…

works out to be about $200 AUD delivered.

    2 years warranty too

    • is that the same machine?

      • yeah

nespresso citiz, fire engine red too!

      • +1

Other than being red it is slightly different looking to the Australian version, I'm thinking it's because they're made by "krups" over there where as they're made by DeLonghi over here. But otherwise it would be the same (same pods) etc

        • Remember to check the Voltage and Power plug as well…

        • Euro voltage (eg: amazon italy) is compatible with Australia (not the same, but when companies make a "230v" device it can go from 220 to 240, to save them making 1000 different models for different regions).

US voltage (110v, amazon.com) is most certainly not close enough to Aussie. So in those cases, check the device to see whether it can take 240v as well.

Plug converter for euro device is a $5 job at most from a $2 shop. Probably cheaper from DX/ebay if you can wait.

    • It's now just over $250 AUD delivered from amazon.it

Probably easier to buy it from Good Guys for $398 - 20% gift voucher discount - $50 cashback = ~$270

(depending on whether or not you can get Good Guys vouchers)

      Or go the Pixie for $329 - 20% gift voucher discount - $50 cashback = ~$220

      • you have to minus the VAT

    • I bought one of these Fire Engine Red cheapies back at Christmas time. Got it for under AU$200 delivered to my door while I was on holiday at a friends place in rural Tasmania… it was delivered by a Launceston mini bus company LOL! We left it there for others to use but my wife and I loved it SO much that we quickly bought a 2nd one days after the 1st one arrived to use at our home in Brisbane. Both machines have now made well over 500 coffees each and they're still working as perfectly and looking as new as the day we got them. I cannot recommend these enough especially if you can get them as close to $200 as possible. From what I can tell there's only small cosmetic differences between the spouts on the Krups & Delonghi versions of the Citiz & Milk models so either will be fine.

Note however that I tried buying another one as a gift a few weeks ago from Amazon Italy and I managed to get a fair way through the checkout process but it then told me that it wasn't available for delivery to Australia. They may have stopped that now but I'm not sure. Can anyone confirm for others here??

      • Oooh, looking good! I just went half-way through the process again but this time it didn't say anything about 'not' shipping to Oz so yeah, go for the Amazon.it version (http://www.amazon.it/Krups-XN-7106-Nespresso%C2%AE-fire-engi…) and get it for closer to the AU$200 mark instead. You'll need to get the plug changed or get a cheap adaptor from a travel or $2 shop and you'll need to wait a week or two but hey it's a true bargain believe me… especially considering SOME retailers are still selling these for $499 (gulp).

  • Looks just like the $179 machine on the front of Dick's catalogue.
But what is $200? Just 2kg of nespresso coffee. (@ 70c/7g pod)

  • I've owned a $2500 DeLonghi espresso machine with automatic frother and other bells and whistles and hated using it because it takes a while to clean it up after each use and it has to be kept clean regularly in order to perform as expected. In 3 years that i had it, i ended up using it only a handful of times.
I got one of these Nespresso machine and i find the coffee to be just about the same quality, it take 20 seconds to clean up after use and there are so many different blends to choose from.
Now i use it at least once just about every day. Gave away my $2500 machine to some in-laws and they are barely using it for the same reason.
Love it and highly recommend it.
