ANNI22

Another day, another tablet and another low price. The XiaoXin Pad Plus (P11 Plus) is what I consider to be a sidegrade to the Lenovo Xiaoxin Pad Pro and offers a few improvements for a low price.

The main improvements are an upgraded Snapdragon 750G CPU and Adreno 619 GPU offering better performance and an 11" IPS panel instead of a pentile OLED display in the XiaoXin Pad Pro that suffers from blurry text up close.

Featuring Android 11 with Google Play, Widevine L1 DRM for Netflix HD, 11" 2000x1200 TDDI IPS Display with 400nits brightness, 6GB RAM, 128GB storage (expandable), Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G CPU with Adreno 619 GPU, 7700mAh battery with QC 3.0, 4 JBL Speakers with Dolby Atmos, 13/5MP Rear Camera, 8MP Front Camera, WiFi ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, USB-C and pogo pins for keyboard case.

The seller has two versions. The tablet with the Chinese firmware which has ZUI, no Google Play and no Widevine L1 DRM and the global firmware with Android 11, Google Play, Widevine L1 DRM.

    Damn Clear, calm down!

    • +2

I was considering posting the new TCL Tab Max. I think the price wouldn't be attractive enough despite being 6GB/256GB and Snapdragon 665. There's no Widevine it in sadly.

      • +1

TcL as crap as they used to be?

  • Thanks for posting this Clear. Do you know if the Plus version (with Global firmware) has issues with Widewine L1 / Netflix HD?

    • +1

Less users of this one and haven't heard feedback in previous deals. You'd still need to sideload the Netflix apk manually.

Ozbargain needs an Android tablet comparison under Pages

Really tempting to cancel the Amazon order for Samsung A8 and get this instead, but the trouble I have to go through warranty process if there are hardware issues really concerns me.

    • +1

Warranty plus updates with the Samsung A8. May as well stick with it if you've ordered already.

      • +2

If you ever tried any other alternatives for the similar price point, there is no way back to Samsung!

        • Until you encounter an issue with the tablet, and warranty is in need or security and os update is important

    • +3

The display on the A8 is absolute trash. This IPS on this would be worlds better.

    • +1

Yes I returned my Lenovo p11 for similar reasons, zero updates. It was laggy with basic functions, browsing, YouTube out the box, returned it next day as I had zero way to fix it and zero support from Lenovo, support was the worst I’ve experienced. At least the Samsung gets updates and the community is large and helpful

      • +3

It’s hard to put a dollar figure on after sales support when you make a purchase decision.

The value of after sales support is $0 if you are lucky and never encountered any hardware issues, but priceless if you are the unlucky one.

Same reason I have stuck with iPhone since my experience with the Nexus Android phones.

If you factor in the ease of warranty replacement or repair, and how much Apple products can retain the value down the years, they may be the most reasonably priced products.

        • Apple phones are covered under warranty for 2 years under ACL like other phones. After that it is generally useless to get any major repair done via Apple, as the cost of repair would be same as the phone's value then. From personal experience, my iPhone 11 everything working except SIM and they wanted 620$ to fix it.

          • @mrsuper12: I didn’t mean Apple is the only one who provides free repair or replacement when the device is still under warranty.

It’s how easy the process can be because you can walk in to any nearby Apple store to have your device replaced/repaired.

Don’t think you can do the same with your Android devices except maybe Samsung.

Add to that, the quality control with Apple is generally better than Android device makers.

  • nice find Clear, good price

  • OMG I could not find this tablet in stock at the ~303 price point yesterday with your codes and bought the P11 6GB/128GB for approx $240 about an hour ago. Hmm what to do…

    • Seller may not let you cancel. P11 is still really good value anyway.

      • The key difference seems to be the CPU with the 750G vs the 662. Is the IPS screen the same between the Plus and the vanilla 11?

        • Also this has JBL speaker, also on the same boat

  • I got the P11 Pro from a previous deal. Wife seems to have adopted it! So looking for a second tablet…

I'm wondering if my second should be same or P11 plus.
    I don't have Netflix HD.
Is the resolution noticeably less on the plus?

    • +1

Obviously smaller but I think the display should look a lot more sharp in this.

  • +3

    Clearly very good value

  • Got mine delivered from Bangood after a months wait. Highly recommend it. Great screen and sound. Sideload Netflix and plays HD.

  • In current situation will take months to arrive.

  • Ordered the case from Ali express few days after and I received within 10 days from China.

  • I think Pro should be better for not much more with OLED screen , USB 3.1 video out.

    • +3

I'd take IPS over Pentile OLED any day.

      • +1

        Pentile OLED

        No good?

        • Pentile is an inferior sub pixel arrangement and can make text up close look blurry as seen here

      • +1

I agree on that. Quality I received in this was stunning.

  • Did this start on Android 10 and get upgraded to 11?

Or did it start on 11 and is likely to get get 12 (or hopefully 12.1) in the near future?

    • Mine came with 11 loaded. Not sure if they will provide 12.

      • Just had a look at the product description, looks like it started with 10 and has received the upgrade to 11 from Lenovo.

So 11 will most likely be the end of the road for it unfortunately.

      • What's your security update and Google play update dates on your p11 plus?

When you attempt to check for updates via settings, does it go to unending search?

    • Android 12 is expected to be released from 31/05/22 for the P11 Plus.

      • Wait, so is that TWO version updates from Lenovo? Or did this start on 11?

The product description seems to talk like it started on android 10.

I wonder if 12 will come to the P11? (Non plus)

        • Seems that's for the proper global version with a MediaTek CPU. Unsure if the China one will get it.

  • Can we get Scotty to set up tablets.ozbargain.com.au so you can host a tablet comparison site there?

    • +1

OzBargain have a wiki people can contribute to. I'm sure @scotty would have no issue with me creating a spec comparison of China tablets. There's probably already a dedicated section I'm not aware of.

      • No problem. Creating a page is easy — all users can do that.

        • Thanks. I've never really looked into the Wiki pages and assumed your team had created them all. Now I can see that there's stuff generated by members.

  • Lenovo are due to release the updated version of the M10 Tablet Gen 3.

Android 12 out of the box along with the next version of Android.

  • Has anyone ordered from Panda ZG before?

  • Looking for a cheapy tab (approx $200) for kids to use on 24hour flight for few games and videos? Guess HD Netlix not essential but need to be able download vids over wifi
This Alldocube maybe, but perhaps a smaller screen better
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/689718

    • Alldocube kPad would certainly be the best cheapest option. US$113.89 with coupon ANNI6

Check the ETA Prime video I linked in that post for gaming performance. The more high end games are going to stutter but the lower end stuff is fine.

      • Legend mate! Thanks, just light gaming for 5yr olds so that's fine. Guess SD Netflix won't be too bad despite the 2000*1200 res?
Love you work on the tablets, will get myself a better one at some point too

        • Netflix is going to max out at 540p. It shouldn't be too bad for them. Especially if they were just watching cartoons.

  • Thanks Clear been meaning to pull the trigger on a tablet for a while. Any case recommendations everyone? Cheers

  • Has anyone who bought this managed to find a fix for the device randomly lighting up when it's supposed to be locked and dormant?

    • +1

No fix but just want to say this happens on my P11 as well. Super weird

  • @clear any upcoming deals on Lenovo Tab P12 Pro?

    • Up there in the $900 range

      • So they just clearing out old models. Where are the deals like in 2018/2019 ? Chinese sellers doesnt want to dump tablets anymore !!

        • They're not clearing out old models because they're not EOL and still being sold new.

  • This or Xiaomi Pad 5?

    • Pad 5 anyday, more OS updated, bigger support community

    • $300 vs $500?

  • Why are I getting $330?

    • make sure you apply the code. and is your currency in AUD? if yes change it to USD and make sure you use an international transaction friendly card. your card'll convert it to AUD.

  • Word of caution. I ordered the Lenovo Xiaoxin Pad Pro 2021 from Giztop. Unit arrived and was great. A few weeks in a row of OLED pixels failed.

Cost $250 to fedex back to China.

Still, cheaper and an SGSTab8, but the $$$ hurt

BTW - I looked at Auspost, DHL, Fedex and UPS. All were the same-ish price and there is a lot of s*** you need to do to send back to China.

    • I'm on the same boat and feel your paint. If it works, it's great but if it doesn't the cost of shipping it back and not knowing you will get the item back, it's a loss.

      • I thought long and hard if it was worth it.

It's taken a long time to get there and get replaced

        • So you send it back at your cost or did seller reimburse return postage cost?

  • ANNI22 is over

  • Any idea what model this is so we have a better idea what case/cover to get? Is it TB-J616?

    • +1

Yeah that's the MediaTek version but the physical dimensions are the same. J616/J616F, while J616X is the LTE version.

  • +2

Just had my order cancelled by the seller today? Anyone else?

    • I am not sure if the order was cancelled or shipping.
My order is still open, but the shipping was cancelled by seller.

Not sure what to make of it.

      • Went to check mine, and likewise. The order is still open…

        Guess we'll wait and see.

        • +1

Cancelled here as well, I messaged the seller and they are in the process of verifying.

          • @mykei: For anyone whose shipping has been cancelled, they advised that due to the COVID outbreak in China, there is logistic issues.

They've requested for me to lodge a dispute and cancel the order.

            • @mykei: How would I go about doing this?

              • @jasonh: Login to your account. Go to "My Orders" page and find your order. Click the "Order Details >" text next to the order.
There is an open dispute button on this page.
