Toshiba 65" Z770K Series 4K UHD Android TV $1529.10 + Delivery ($0 C&C/ in-Store) @ The Good Guys

90
MARCH

65 inch Toshiba Android TV with Full Array Local Dimming and 2 x HDMI 2.1. It has decent sound system: REGZA Power Audio Pro-plus: 30W Quad Passive REGZA bass woofer and dual 25W clear direct speakers, DTS Virtual:X immersive audio, Dolby Atmos. It supports up to 4K 120Hz but I am not sure about the VRR. Maybe similar to the US version of Hisense U7G.

  • Is Toshiba is making a comeback in TV? They used to make solid TVs back in the 90s

i thought nowadays toshiba just a rebrand of something else … as in slapping their brand on some oem tv

      • Hisense. The panels Hisense sells in Australia branded under Hisense are crap compared to the ones they get elsewhere. This panel is good though, it's probably somewhere between a U7G and a U8G (American not Australian). Also comes with probably the best built in speakers on any TV under $5k.

If you want a good Hisense TV in Australia buy this and not the shitty 60hz IPS panels Hisense use in their Hisense branded lineup. Also it comes with Android TV and not the horrible Hisense software with half of the Australian TV apps missing,

This looks like an international version of their Japanese product called Z740

They are either TCL or Hisense, can't remember (CHINESE) and are apparently shipped to Toshiba in Japan to be fettled with, according to the salesman from TGG.

I said NO, unfortunately TOSHIBA were good, but no CHINA for me.

    • who are YOU?

      • Who, who, who, WHO?

    • On 15 November 2017, Hisense reached a deal to acquire 95% of Toshiba Visual Solutions (televisions) for US$113.6 million.

Why not? You sound like you need to read more books

    • You sounded no BRAIN CELL for you as well.

  • I've got the 55'' version of this which has the same speaker setup, it's generally been a good TV but freaks out whenever attempting to run Xbox Series X games with 120hz settings enabled in Xbox Settings (irrespective of if the game itself actually supports 120hz refresh rates) when Dolby Vision or HDR10 is enabled. Will support either 60hz + Dolby/HDR10 OR 120hz and standard HDR, not both, screen continuously flickers and turns blue, otherwise pretty happy with it and genuinely does have great speakers for inbuilt ones.

    • Sounds like a bandwidth issue. You might want to check your cables.

      • Thought this as well, however I've used the cable which comes with the Xbox, as is supposedly definitely rated to carry HDMI 2.1 levels of bandwidth as well as an HDMI cable from Amazon stated to be the same, no difference, unfortunately.

    • No current TV can support gaming features with Dolby Vision enabled.
They might handle the situation better by automatically turning DV off, instead of forcing you to do it, but the end result is the same.

  • Can confirm (at least the 55 inch version) supports VRR.
