The $3 bonus will show as pending in your Cashrewards account immediately upon activating the offer (no confirmation email is sent). This will be automatically approved within 7 days of the gift card purchase being approved (as per the terms). Please ignore the bonus estimated approval date in your account as this is simply a placeholder. Gift card purchases are usually approved within 3-5 days of purchase.

$3 Bonus Promo Terms - please read carefully - it will save a lot of questions:

  1. To be eligible for the $3 bonus, you must first activate the promotion on this page, then purchase then purchase any gift card via the Gift Card Page on Cashrewards (link is in the terms on the activation page).
  2. After activation, gift card purchase must be made between 12:30PM and 5PM AEDT 01/04/22. Activations are capped at 3000.

    A reminder of the process to unlink your card from True Rewards if you wish to do so:

    1. Go to payment for another gift card.
    2. Go to checkout - you'll see your card details just before hitting pay.
    3. Click the bin icon and it will be removed.

              @froogletom: It is not mandatory to provide a mobile number in order to complete an order via Cashrewards’ gift card portal.

              The only reason you enter a mobile number when purchasing a gift card is to opt into SMS delivery.

    Went with Amazon $30 at 1%, seems the best way to go. Unless you want eBay gift cards over Amazon, then choice gift card $30 at 1.5% is better.

    Edit 130pm: Choice gift cards do contain Amazon (confirmed), so grab that $30 at 1.5%, rather than Amazon at 1%. Extra $0.15 cashback.

          Also, looks like you can only swap for one Amazon card, not able to split into multiple cards like the others. (Doesn't mention anything about this on True Rewards, but on Cash Rewards says can only purchase one Amazon card per account per day)

      Thanks, been scouring the site to see which cards it can be swapped for to see if Amazon was on the list. There's no definitive list I could find anywhere before purchase, and doesn't say it includes all stores.

        Rereading, it's a lot of whinier than I intended. I'm used to being about to get GCs at lower denominations so had got my hopes up for a ridiculous deal especially when the deal is for any gift card. For whatever reason the default GC value on my screen was $120 so it was disappointing it stopped at $30.

          While $30 is minimum card you can buy, if you get the Choice card can swap for multiple cards, Amazon starts at $10 and eBay at $5. Extra 0.5% cashback too.

    For me, Cashrewards has choice GC
    ShopBack has super swap GC

    Love both. Whoever has a challenge cash back campaign. I always fall into it. :) but sometimes missing due to amount cap. :(

    Hi guys. Activation cap now reached (2:57pm). For those that successfully activated, you now have until 5pm AEDT to purchase your card. Any purchases after 5pm will unfortunately have the bonus declined. Also, due to the amount of traffic at True Rewards during the promo, around 20 to 30 transactions may not have yet reported to CR accounts.       If it works, then great. I can only go by the terms that True Rewards has given us. I have no idea if that card generates a PIN to use with purchase:

      If you can link the card, you should be able to pay for the gift card without any issues.

      It looks like True Rewards is not properly enforcing this policy (not yet, anyway).

        The PIN does not come through in the preauth transaction description when using Revolut.

          I added a Vanilla Visa gift card today, and I was able to see the four digit verification code in the pending transaction's description.

          I know for a fact that you cannot see the four digit verification code on a Coles Gift Mastercard, because the online portal only shows the first 10 or so characters of the description on their online portal, which means you have to call the Coles Gift Mastercard team to actually get the four digit verification code (because the Coles Gift Mastercard team can see the full pending transaction description on their end).

          I'm not sure why you wouldn't be able to see it for your Revolut card…

            No 4-digit PIN in the description when I used my one-time use virtual card. $1 is still locked up in preauth.

            I didn't have the patience to reach out to their support team via chat to find out if they could see the entire string.
            Maybe worthwhile investigating next time.

      But not able to link when checking out for the gift card as it requires a 4-digit code for authorisation which doesn't show up in transaction history for the gift card, even though the charge of $1 still went through…

      So looks like a no go. Hopefully I get the $1 back, which I assume I will.

      Similar issue here, I only saw the subject while I was working so I activated straight away thinking I could use it tonight (as normally once you activate you have until midnight that day to complete the purchase). Unfortunately not this time.
