Great BT + USB C Mechanical Keyboard layout with option of switches and PBT key caps. (PBT keycaps don't wear out as quick as the common ABS key caps.)

Optical only so just know you wont be able to put in anything but an optical switch…..correct me if I'm wrong though.

    • Maybe, they also have a mechanical version for a few $$ more.

      that is correct

  • Wait, optical vs mechanical, can you hotswap mech switches into an optical pcb?

  • Too many choices. I need a mechanical KB but dont want the loud click, which one should I choose?

  • I have two of these. After a month of daily use the keycaps started to fade. I got sent a replacement but can't help but wonder if they are PBT caps - shouldn't they not fade?

    • I think if they are cheap/thin PBT caps, it doesn't matter. Just buy separate keycaps and add them onto the keyboard.

    • If you are referring to the legends, then PBT doesn't really prevent fading (maybe slows it down). Keycaps generally fade because the legends (either "laser engraved", or "dye-sublimated") are slowly worn down over time. "Double-shot" keycaps avoid this as the legends and main keycap are 2 different pieces/colours of plastic moulded together, so there is nothing to physically rub away.

If you're interested then you search more into it. But if this new set fades again, I agree to get a seperate keycap set. I'd look for a PBT double-shot set - plenty of cheap sets and colours available these days

this is trash, optical switches are very limited. you can't use regular switches with this. no boba, gat ink blacks, telious, oil kings, cs, gold cap, and many many other switches you can't use.
