that's pretty good, think its been sub 5k before though?

  • +1

    $248 delivery kills it

    • -3

Yep, can stick that. C2 not far away. The base price in these is stupid, people must have more $ than sense to pay it.

      • +6

C2 is def not going to be sold at this price though.

  • +3

It will go cheaper than this imo, so hold out

I got the G1 for $5,460 (including delivery) only a few days ago.

Could be useful knowledge for anyone able to stretch another $400!

I can provide a screenshot of the JB price if you’re looking to price match.

    • Can you send me the pic of your receipt to price match ?

    • +1

Yea receipt will be good. Went to HN and they refused to be below $5900 - surprising cosidering i've seen it around $5500 before.

      • +7

        Is it really surprising? HN?

    • -2

      Yeah definitely a better choice..but I wouldn't buy a $5000 Oled personally without a heatsink like both the G2 and A90J have

      • Ive had no issues whatsoever with mine

      • On every LG post you seem to hate this tv…. is it because it gets stellar reviews that you don't agree on ?

        • -2

No I just prefer to have piece of mind on such a big purchase..this year's LG G2 has a heatsink and 5yr warranty just like last year's Sony a90j

    • That's a solid deal! Assuming the last stock of the c1 and g1 prior to c2 and G2 being made available will be sold at near cost price if any are left?

I'd love to see the receipt as well to try and get my locals to try and match it.

  • How does A1 compare? I'll has raspberry pi4 hooked up

    • What relevance does the pi have? Will you be running kodi on it?

      • +1

He's saying he doesn't care about HDR or Dolby Vision.

    • Seriously why ?? it has all the major apps built in that support HDR and Dolby Vision it also it has Plex and dlna network browsing

  • Hm I really want one of these but I have an awkward stairs situation and I think I'd have to turn it on the side (tall side up) to get it through the door at the top of the stairs, which looking at their moving precautions it says you are not supposed to do… damn it.

    • +2

If its in the box still, surely it would be ok?

    • +1

If it's still being moved box side upright I wouldn't see an issue the only an issue laying the panel down or upwards when transporting

  • +2

Just recently picked one of these up from HN for $4995 including delivery. Brilliant TV. At the time they had $5995 plus $1000 in HN vouchers. They let me use the $1000 against the TV being price to $4995 and included delivery.

Is this the TV that goes best with xbox sx and ps5?

    • Pretty much

    • +1

      yes

    • +1

      Yup

    • That's the 83 inch! But close..

    • Both the Sony A80J and A90J feature VRR now so in reality the C1 only features 2 extra HDMI 2.1 ports that the Sony's don't….so the C1 is no longer the be all and end all for console gaming TV prowess

      • The C1 is still better for gamers:
        - Has gsync (if you use a PC)
        - Can do 4:4:4 at 120hz VRR (if you use a PC)
        - No HGiG on the Sony
        - More ports - it's really only 1 on the Sony cos it uses one for the EARC port
        - No game mode in dolby vision on the Sony

Theres probably other reasons too :D

If you want a TV that actually performs as intended as a TV for movies, sports, streaming and general viewing instead of a gaming monitor then the Sony A80J/A90J wins hands down and was awarded best TV 2021from almost every major tech review site…the Sony's have superior processing, motion, upscaling, accuracy OOTB and picture quality ….and yes full bandwidth 48Gbps, 4:4:4 chroma not 4:2:2 like LG in game mode and now VRR after recent firmware update
DoVi gaming is awful and is essentially a worse experience on XBSX than regular HDR and you can buy a HDMI 2.1 splitter on Amazon around $30…
If you own a high end PC then a PC monitor capable of higher refresh rates and lower latency than any TV including the C1 is almost always preferable..this year Samsung even has select TV's with 144hz refresh rates

  • Thanks OP, got one!

I feel 5050 on this deal.

Just going to say, this is a phenomenal tv. I have had one for 2 months now from boxing day sales, and the colours and infinity contrast just blows LCDs out of the water. The TV is in a moderately lit room, and have not had to use vivid profile to get adequate brightness levels.

I think when these things get to $4k is when I get one.
