These cases are rubbish, worst $49 I spent at launch.

Do yourself a favour and buy a Caseology case for less (even than this discounted price).

Link pls. Also can you suggest a decent tempered glass for Google Pixel 6 ;)

Looks like they are $35. So actually a couple $ more than these, but well worth it imo.

I have one of these sitting in a drawer somewhere, I honestly don't know how the maker of a phone, couldn't even get their case to fit properly! My P6P moved around loose in the genuine google case… Something only google could manage.

Edit: Even one of these would be much much better than the google case if you didn't want to spend $35.

        • Hi Brad. Many are telling that these Caseology cases add weight to the phone. Which one is less bulky and still gives good protection? Vault or Parallax or Ultra hybrid clear.

      • +1

I am using this one for my pixel 6. It's cheaper and decent. https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/304280110685?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mk…

        • All out of stock except the brown, which would look odd, but a great price.

Screen protector… First time I have purchased a whitedome protector. It took me a while to actually press the buy button because of the cost. I have never ever spent so much on a case let a alone a screen protector as much as whitedome.

But… I did it and have zero regrets. It is by far the best screen protector I have ever used (in terms of clarity and smoothness) and I'm sure it is super protective (hopefully it doesn't get put to the test).

So tldr, get a whitedome! (if your budget allows)

It's so good I didn't even have to increase display sensitivity!
(On a clean screen) I get 10 out of 10 successful unlocks.

Priced great to suit our OzB budget 😏

    • I agree.

The cases are garbage - they are loose around the volume buttons, and they're too tall - so the cases wobbles.

      HOWEVER…

…when I applied a skin (I bought dbrand), it made it significantly better. It's almost like they designed it for that very purpose.

I ended up loving it with a skin applied.

    • +2

Agreed. Absolute garbage. I ended up buying another one from Spigen.

This case fits like a hand to a glove and looks great.

I returned my other Spigen case as it was way too slippery.

        • Is this one case friendly? I m going to buy either a Spigen Ultra Hybrid Clear case or a Vault one.

          • +1

@Utsav23: You mean if it's compatible with glass screen protectors? Yes, with the one I mentioned in my other post here.

    • I've been using the Spigen Tough Armor on my 6 Pro since launch. I've been happy with it! Although one issue is it is a bit hit and miss with the Google Pixel Stand 2. It always asks for a reallignment.

I've been using the Spigen Plastic Screen protector and it's been okay but I wouldn't mind a glass one.

    • I would agree with this. Maybe not rubbish but not great either. Mine got all flimsy around the power and volume buttons after about 4months. Other than that it is a fine case for what it is, but overpriced compared to other options on the market.

  • Coming from a mi9, the weight of the pixel 6 is quite noticeable, these cases aren't light either. Anyone found a nice smallish case for the P6?

*Edit, are these different than the original P6 cases from the Google store? These are appearantly 10gramms

    • +1

I'd say the weight is a mistake.

I dont mind the case, but I hate the weight on then. It's noticeably lighter when I use my pixel 6 without the google case.

      • Makes no difference in my opinion once you get used to the weight of any phone with or without a case. I've never once after a week of use with any phone thought, this phone is too heavy to hold.

      • Yep, too heavy for sure and also weirdly balanced

  • +5

I've used Spigen cases for some years. My Pixel 6XL now is in a clear Spigen Liquid Air case. Shows off the phone including logo, lightweight and good grip, and way cheaper than the Google cases.

    • Can't seem to find the clear for pixel 6, any hints where to get it

      • +1

        Here it is:
        https://www.progadgets.com.au/spigen-google-pixel-6-ultra-hy…

I use the Tough Armour on my 6 Pro and have used Spigen on last 3 phones. Always a good option.

        • I think he meant a clear Liquid Air, which doesn't exist. (But yes, Ultra Hybrid is a great case; have had them on every Pixel I've had)

          • @kerfuffle: Sorry couldn't recall exact model. I know I always choose the slim lightweight model
            Spigen cases are great

        • +1

I second this. I've got this case and would recommend it

      • +1

        Cheers team OB

      • I have the ultra hybrid in clear which is good. I was looking at the liquid air but that didn't come in clear so not sure if above poster is mistaken or if they just don't make them in that colour at the moment.

  • +2

Shit case. I ended up getting my money back as my case started yellowing really bad only a few weeks after buying. Pretty sad that it yellowed so quickly considering it lived in my pocket it’s whole life.

Chat support refunded me no problems. Worse 49 bucks I’ve ever spent on a case, maybe at this price, it might not be so bad

  • Golden Glow is the exclusive Google Store colour here in case anyone wanted that but didn't want to pay $49

  • +2

Cases look good but the quality control is lacking. Never had a case that didn't fit properly until I went through a few of these for my 6 Pro. For the money they charge the least they could do is make them fit..

  • I've been using Google original cases for my Pixel XL and also Google Pixel 6 Pro. Dropped the phone many times and they survived. Never looked at other cases since.

    • How well does it fit for the original case? Many here are suggesting the case doesn't fit the phone properly on Pixel 6/pro (too large).

      • +1

For the Pro, I have no issues with fitting. It's snug. No loose spots especially where the power and volume buttons are.

  • +2

My experience with this gen's case has been overall good but I don't think the case is worth $49. At $32 I think it's worth if you like them but still not a 'bargain'.

I miss the fabric cases, those were worth full price.

  • +1

I have this case. It's a great case but yes it's overpriced.

  • +2

I use Spigen case for Pixel 6 pro and my old Pixel 4XL.
They are very reliable and a few minor falls have caused no damage.
The padding is good and elevated bumps are excellent.
    I don't use a screen protector.

    • I use a baby christmas sock as a slide in case.

  • have the non pro vers and fits well. it's actually a little difficult to get on and off

  • +2

I bought the official case since day 1 and only used it for a week, then I switched to Spigen Caseology Vault Air and it survived many falls until now. The original case's quality was rubbish, no grip, and overpriced. My wife's case was already loose near the volume rocker in less than 4 months.

  • such a disappointment this cases, the fabric ones used to be so good, mine got yellow after 3 months using it

  • Anyone have a good recommendation for a screen protector? The last one I bought didn't let the fingerprint work, so now I don't have one on.

    • Try increasing fingerprint scanner sensitivity

    • I bought an eBay tempered glass screen protector early on that claimed it had curved edges for the 6 Pro and touch sensitivity capable but neither were true.
Ended up going with the Spigen NeoFlex screen protector. Not as tough as tempered glass but good to prevent most I throw at it in my job. It may not be to everyone's liking as it has a slight textured appearance to it and is quite soft, so scratches show on it but over time they disappear. "Self-healing" is how they market it.
For me, I don't mind as when the screen is lit, you don't see any difference, it just may mess with some people when they look at the screen when it is off.

    • I have this one and it works great

      https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/234241041854

Apparently there was an original version which did not play nice with the fingerprint sensor, but the new version is fine

  • +1

I just buy a quadlock for my Pixel6 - great case that mount in my car and on my bike

  • Is it just me or is pixel 6 an absolute brick, especially with case. I want to change mine for a thinner, smaller phone

  • Thanks OP. On that note, has anyone found a glass screen protector for the phone?

  • Mine got sent out via DHL.

Now to see how long the Light Frost will retain its colour … (I already have the case in Stormy Sky)

  • I got mine delivered today (even though it's Easter Sunday). Along with another nine of them i.e. Amazon UK sent me ten Pixel 6 Pro Light Rain cases … I was thinking why it was weird the box was so big!

    • No worries about colour retention, then. They should have at least sent you a selection of free cases… Happy Easter with no imagination whatsoever

    • +1

I got mine today. Looks like the same…. I got a box of them also.

      • Did you also get Light Rain or a different colour when you initially ordered them?

        • +1

I ordered the light frost and I received a box of them :)

          • @revhedted: Ohh you also ordered the 6 Pro white case (I got the names mixed up with the 6 white case).

Wonder if the other colours would have had the same outcome haha
