Description:

The TL-WR841ND Wireless N Router is a combined wired/wireless network connection device designed specifically for small business, office, and home office networking requirements. It complies with the IEEE 802.11n(Draft 2.0)standard with wireless transmission speeds of up to 300M. The router adopts 2*2 MIMO technology and has two external Antennas providing even better wireless performance, transmission rates, stability and coverage. At the same time, CCA technology automatically avoids channel conflicts using its channel selection feature. It also works well with other 11g and 11n protocol wireless products.

The TL-WR841ND provides multiple security measures; supporting SSID broadcast control, MAC address access control, WEP encryption, WPA/WPA2, and WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK authentication. At the same time QSS(Quick Secure Setup)complies with WPS allowing for worry-free wireless security configuration. These combined security features will guard against intruders using stronger, safer protection.

The TL-WR841ND allows companies, offices, and homes to share one Internet connection with more computers. Apart from this product’s simple setup and more common broadband router functions, it also supports priority of service where applications using a lot of bandwidth that are sensitive to interruptions such as voice and video are given priority in order to assure quality. The router also supports on-demand dialing, online access management, Automatic virus isolation, UPnP, DDNS, advanced system security record, friendly user interface, and simple, easy configuration allowing all users to comfortably configure the router. This is a fashionable product with superior performance and should be your first choice when setting up a network.

Do you have any deal on a modem-router, 300 mbps, preferably with Gigabit LAN

    • sorry .. we dont.

      • was told this will not take voip calls. correct?

  • Only $3 less than MSY, not such a fantastic saving.

    • +1

So it's still cheaper than MSY?!

      • +7

        Yes. $3 less.

Are you as excited as me?!?!!

    • +3

My closest MSY store is about 2000k's. Probably not worth the drive imo.

And the 2 hours waiting in line to be told they're out of stock. Priceless.

  • Shipping is $12.

Is there anything similar to this, but has Gigabit ethernet LAN ports, with similar price?

    • -1

      No.

    • Unfortunately gigabit seems to bump the price up substantially. Even a TPlink one is likely to be $70+

I have this product. It's terrible. Constantly drops wireless signal. I'm currently in the market for a better brand version, so I'd hate to see someone buy a POS like this just to save a few bucks. You'll be pulling your hair out before long.

I've had lots of hands on experience with dozens of TP Link products along with other brand home modem/router/wireless products. TP Link are about as likely to suck as other brands. All brands sometimes suck.

I picked up my TP when I was over in Malaysaia for $70 AU last year. 8690, thing is great. Never had one single issue with it.

Constantly dropping might be a bad batch should have claimed warranty, or try changing the firmware.

    • get a fritzbox then.

      • I LOVE Fritzbox!

(but hardly a fair comparison in terms of price)

Nothing wrong with tp-link, I have the 1043 model, which is great, $65 at msy. Not sure about 841, look it up on whirlpool if you want people's opinions. The 841 might be as good as it gets in the $37 price range.

    • I also have the 1043. Works great. Flashed with Gargoyle firmware which is brilliant.

  • I think there is a similar one at Aldi (tp-link adsl2+ wifi-n 3years warranty) for $35.
This one http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/68665 for $50 but I thought I saw it for $35 at Aldi yesterday.

  • Anyone know how this differs to the TD-W8960N for $54? I think the TD-W8960N has a Broadcom chipset which may make it more desirable, but I'm not sure.

    • TP-Link TL-WR841ND has no modem function, it's only a wireless-N router; TD-W8960N is a Wireless MODEM router with Broaddcom inside.

      • Haha.. thanks for pointing that out. Missed it completely :)
