  • Bought…even if i don't really need it yet :)

Oh well, SG3 coming out soon…

    • SG3 is not that fantastic for SG2 user. I am getting Note instead.

  • Was holding out for a 32gb at a good price… but caved and bought this one. We love ya Frannie!

  • +2

Photo has an 'I' meaning its a part of UHS Class 1 range. Must mean this a more budget middle range consumer version of the micro extreme for that don't need 30Mb/s speeds. So tradeoff of speed for lower cost.

Also real Sandisk cards have the 'class' printed on 2nd row as compared to fakes have it on the top row near the contacts. So these must be real unless they started forging that too in which case the only way to ensure it's real is to personally test it.

    • Thanks for pointing out here

      Cheers

  • Can anyone verify this supplier.
Seems very new, ABN obtained in Dec 2011, Site seems more recent than that.

  • Just bought 2. This is hard to resist. I hope its Genuine

I hope it doesn't end up in dispute via Paypal due whatever reasons.

  • Order #2391 payment successful

    Thank you.

Now to vote + for the deal.

    How many cards left?

    • +1

Who knows? I think the seller always had access to more than 500pcs in the first place. Just adding them bit by bit to expedite sales.

  • +1

I decided to bite. Purchased 2.

I was very skeptical about this H special edition since there's no info about it anywhere, and the packaging looks very plain for a special edition. But I trust Francesca, so I went for it.

Will be running tests on h2testw though.

  • Just curious - why hasn't this deal sold out yet?

The supposed limited stock quantities are looking a bit suspect….

The original 500 sold in 1 hour but now there seems to be unlimited supply?

    • See my comment above:
      http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/69283?page=2#comment-858447

BTW, original quantity took far more than an hour to sell out.

    • +1

The supply isn't unlimited. But the demand isn't unlimited either… The first 500 sold out faster than the next 300 because probably everyone who wanted one got it already, and less than 800 people want one (which is still a big amount). If the demand was in the thousands and not the hundreds, she might have ordered more.

Same is true of movies releasing in theatres. It always does best in the first week. After that it dies down because most people who want to see it see it early.

      That's my guess.

      • Supplies may be in fact unlimited. The OP added extra stock quantities several times.

This deal was posted after 5pm yesterday when most people had already left work. Many of those people would only check OzB again the next day.

I think the plan in the first place was to release quantities bit by bit to expedite sales as I previously mentioned. It also seems strange to call your supplier at 9pm — normally they wouldn't be available at that time of night.

But we're all just guessing here. It's nothing unusual for retailers to claim "LIMITED STOCK" when we all know it's BS.

        • -1

          Supplier in China?

        • Rep may not have 'stock in hand' & has to order more from local AU supplier/wholesaler. So essentially you could say its unlimited stock as 'factory—>supplier—>reseller—>consumer'

        • Or simply that they didn't know what the demand would be so played it safe and only got a few hundred in initial stock. When demand proved better than expected placed another order and so on. Makes a lot more sense than ordering a thousand but only selling 200.

    • hi apu,

Qty sold as of 6pm over 2K units, i ordered in extra 2K arriving next Monday to Sydney.
Our supplier is based in QLD, a local supplier not from china or hk.
So be rest assure that all the orders will be dispatched latest by Monday evening or Tuesday morning.
Some of the earlier orders has been dispatched today, will update the status soon.
There's still about few hundred units available which i believe it will sold off soon.

      Cheers

      • +1

Wow, 4000 clicks on this deal and 2000 items sold — basically 1 in 2 clicks purchased the deal.

Just as I thought, basically unlimited stock available in the first place.

        • Maybe she just didn't want to risk overstocking so ordered a few hundred to begin with, and then let sales take it from there. Ended up underestimating the demand (which is better than overestimating it and being left with stock you can't move) and ordered more. I don't think anything unsavory is going on here.

Another 2K units is a big order though.

But what difference does it make how much supply there is? At this price, I doubt it would sell any cheaper regardless of how much there is. She'll only order enough to meet demand and won't be fireselling the rest.

My only concern is whether the stock is genuine or not. But I'll take her word at face value until I see them for myself.

        • But it still says "500pcs Available" in title and as such the purchaser is forced to make a purchase decision based on misleading information.

        • +1

Big order maybe because these are limited ed. as Rep noted earlier? Demand would remain steady until sold out after going out of production.

          @apu
          Apu from Apusauction/SS? :-P

        • +1

Hey I and many other shared this deal on Facebook and elsewhere,
I know at least 3 of my friends who bought this who are not on ozbargain but used this code and bought it because of the original info here

So numbers don't exactly work like that , Many many people bought more than 1 including me,

And finally so what if the retailer said 500 initially, he has made it clear he ordered more stock along the way. If you don't want it move on, or if you can find it cheaper neg it with a proper reason. stop being so bitchy without a reason.

        • Thanks, you make some very good points. Still, that kind of click-through rate is rarely seen on OzB.

I'm sorry that you see some of our (my) comments as being "bitchy". I can't see it myself and it certainly wasn't intended that way. Maybe you're being a bit harsh don't you think? Looking back through my comments I fail to see where I made any rude or disparaging commentary.

Many people rushed their purchase decision at the time based on claimed stock availability figures. There is a massive discrepancy between 500pcs and ~5000pcs. I stand by my assertion that the title should have been updated much earlier to reflect that.

        • +2

Sorry if I was too hard on you but my position on the deal is : this is a good deal, irrespective of the quantity available.
I don't know if the figures were true or not and there is noreal way to find out the truth,

So the discussion should be limited to if the deal @ the price is a good one or not ?

Some of the criticism and skepticism that I see over here makes me wonder If we are turning into America ? There is far too much bickering that goes on in the comments that imho I'd like seen a bit toned down.

Any criticism should be of the deal itself, yes we all know what the fluroscent "SALE" sign means in shop windows, think of this as something like that.

  • thankyou, purchased 2

  • brought one this time

    • +6

Where did you bring it from?

  • Thanks OP! I missed out on the batch yesterday and was so sad… just came home from work and so glad you got more in stock! Just bought one! :)

  • Great Deal bought one.Thanks

  • Wow, 2k units. Awesome rep. Can't wait for my 16GB to arrive.

  • Be interseted to know when it is on again!

  • All gone?

  • Mine was shipped today so the OP has kept their word. ^_^

    • someone that gets one - test the write speed and report here please :)

      • +1 please do

  • Anyone else received theirs yet? You can't track postage can you?

    • got mine today, cant track postage.

  • +2

50% of the orders has been dispatched yesterday.
I will try to dispatch as many as i can by today or latest in the next 1-2 days.

    Cheers

  • Just testing the micro SD card + adapter now

speed seems good, can record more than 37seconds straight of full HD @ 25fps with less than 1 second writing lag at the end of the recording period.

i have an issue however, when i put it into my computer via the sd adapter, it keeps saying "write protected" blah blah. ive tried changing the sd card lock on the side, but this doesnt help. it can record from my dslr via the sd adapter no worries, but everytime i try to write onto it from my computer, doesnt work.

    • just tested mine and it works, you should contact the rep maybe yours is defective

  • I havent received mine yet! Hoping to get it soon.

Also - once I get it, how do I test the speed for you guys?

    • h2testw

  • awesome got mine today :) i am getting speeds of around 10mbps writing single file. So happy with this purchase

    • I hope you mean 10Mb/s? I think 10mbps is usually understood as megabits per second (not megabytes).

      • +1

MB vs Mb, Its the B that makes the difference no the M

        • Ah, okay. Although I see it written all the time as Mb/s when they are clearly referring to megabytes. I've never seen it written as mbps when referring to megabytes.

          Makes sense — MB/s.

          Thanks.

      • My mistake.

    • Good to hear the speed is decent. So its going to work on DSLR. Decent purchase. Can't wait to get it.

      • Are you talking about video or burst shooting?

  • I ordered mine last week and haven't received anything in the post, not even a confirmation from the company.

Paypal has confirmed the funds were taken and trying to contact the company has been futile.

Oh well I will give them until today to rectify this or will just reverse my transaction.

    • Hi Skram,

I have updated on our post that we will be dispatching all the orders when the goods arrive in on Monday/Tuesday.

          Sequential Write : 8.075 MB/s

    OS : Windows XP Professional SP3 [5.1 Build 2600] (x86)

  • Just received 2, both appear as "write protected" in the original SD adapters…..
Just testing the first one (H2testw) in a cheapy SD adapter and its currently writing at 7.5MByte/s.
    Here's the result:

    Test finished without errors.
You can now delete the test files *.h2w or verify them again.
    Writing speed: 7.50 MByte/s
    Reading speed: 18.7 MByte/s
    H2testw v1.4

I'm happy with that. Shame about the adapters.

    • Second one tested:
      Test finished without errors.
You can now delete the test files *.h2w or verify them again.
      Writing speed: 7.70 MByte/s
      Reading speed: 18.7 MByte/s
      H2testw v1.4

      All good.

  • mine arrived in the mail today. nice!

the speeds people are getting means they are comparable to the mobile ultras?

  • +1

Received my 2 today and have the same problem with the 'write protected' Sandisk adapters.
Appears the Sandisk adapters slide lock won't stay in the unlocked position when you insert them into whatever
    device you are using.
I tried both Sandisk adapters on a cheap USB to SD adapter and in my Lumix camera and both goto the locked position.
Have to put a piece of tape around the lock slide to make it stay in the unlock position.
My old Kingston adapter works fine.

As for the Sandisk microSD cards I'm getting the same results as others have posted, so overall a great card for the price.

    • Would a "genuine" SanDisk adapter give this 'write protected' issue???????

  • Got mine also in an envelope today.

    • me 2! ^_^

  • Got my two today. Used h2testw to very that they are indeed 16GB and gave me a write speed if 7.63MB/s and read of 19.0MB/s. I used the included SD adapter in my Dell U3011 without any write protect issue.

  • Hi All,

All orders has been dispatched & picked by Australia Post this morning.
You should receive the item in the next 2-5 business days!

A couple of test result shows that this card has min write of 6mb/s, up to the mobile ultra class 6 standard.
I'm thinking to lock in another batch and offer them out, let me know what you guys think.

    Cheers

    • Should be 32GB or 64GB. Or maybe ultra mobile kind of card.

    • I bought one in this batch, and would buy another 16GB again if you do another batch. If you can, also include prices on the 32GB model, if there is such a thing, for people who have devices that'll take that.

    • +1

      Yes please, would love a 32GB :)

  • So these meet class 6 dont they?

  • received mine today..

i do NOT have the write protected problem with the sandisk adapter..

    here are the speed tests:

    Test finished without errors.
You can now delete the test files *.h2w or verify them again.
    Writing speed: 7.55 MByte/s
    Reading speed: 37.4 MByte/s
    H2testw v1.4

  • +3

Adapter keeps write protecting for me as well.

Really easy to fix. Heat up the tip of a pin or similar with a lighter/cooktop.

Touch the plastic at the lock.

    Done.

    finished product: http://i.imgur.com/ybVJ1.jpg

    • Nice

    • lol seems a bit extreme. won't a piece of sticky tape work?

      • and risk it coming loose inside my camera? That would be a B* to get out.

Took me about 30 sec, to find a pin, heat it and touch the card.

  • still waiting on mine.

where are they shipping from? im in sydney

    :)

    • I'm in inner city Sydney and I got mine last night. Give it a few workdays in case it's been held up somewhere.

  • I got mine last night. Looks all good works fine. What a bargain +1 we need more of these deals!!!

  • When I plug the card into a micro sd to usb adapter I get a "write protected error". Do I need to plug into the supplied sd adapter first then a sd to usb adapter or is there something wrong with my card?

    • Read a few posts up

Its only the SD adapter at fault the actual micro SD cards are fine.
The SD adapters appear to be of questionable quality, the lock tab on the adapter
slides to easily and wont stay in the unlocked position as you insert into the camera, phone,
      etc your using.
Just do like Duff5000 has shown for the cleanest way and if you dont care about it being locked,
otherwise use a small piece of tape to hold it in the unlocked position.

  • got mine just now,

1 adaptor is stuck on write protect, other is fine.

  • Arrived mine today and tested with that green multi card reader from meritline.

           Sequential Read : 20.047 MB/s
          Sequential Write : 8.385 MB/s
         Random Read 512KB : 19.667 MB/s
        Random Write 512KB : 1.569 MB/s
    Random Read 4KB (QD=1) : 3.650 MB/s

    Random Write 4KB (QD=1) : 1.800 MB/s
    Random Read 4KB (QD=32) : 3.734 MB/s
    Random Write 4KB (QD=32) : 1.233 MB/s

    Test : 100 MB [F: 0.0% (0.0/14.8 GB)] (x1)

  • amazing! 9mbps+ for me! very happy!

  • Got a write speed using H2testw v1.4 of 5.98 MByte/s

    Very happy with card though.

  • I have not received anything yet. Please help, francesca2148.

    • Hi donkuok,

      What is your order #?
Did you sent in any email to me?

      Thanks

  • -1

I concur with you donkuok. My money was taken quick enough but every email I have sent to her has been ignored.

Not good business practice if you ask me.

    • Hi Skram,

I already shipped out all the goods last Wednesday, what is your email address?
Which email address did you sent to?
I usually response within 12-24hours after receiving it.

Let me know your order #
      Sorry for any inconvenience caused.

      Thanks

    • Ok..I just received it today but with the adaptor it keeps saying the card is write protected.

      • There is a lock on the side of the card. Move it from the lock position or the card will be write protected. If it keeps moving back to locked when you insert it follow my post up about 10 up from here.

  • Hi All,

I contacted my supplier on the SD adapter issue, there are higher chances of getting the write protect problem with this batch of SD adapter.
Possibly 1 out of 10 will get that problem, please contact me via email / live chat.
I back ordered some spare SD adapters in, if any of you that encounter the "write protect" problem and would like to have one please drop an email i will try to arrange that for you.
When i have the spare ones, i will be selling individual SD adapters on the website for $1.5 + Free Delivery, as as service to all of you.

    Cheers

  • I have received the 16GB MicroSD card.
However, it automatically pops up with a format window when I plug it in to my Windows 7 PC
Only capacity could be chosen is only 30MB. Then tried to format it but it failed.
Then I tried format the card using SD Formatter 3.1 but still failed.
Not using the bundled adapter so just the card itself.
Would you please advise ASAP ?
