  • Seen on the Logitech g pro post the other day someone recommending this. Anybody have an feedback on it?

    • -1

G pro x? If so just buy that. This is just generally worse

      G pro w? Buy this

    • +3

Did heaps of research on mice as I'm super fussy.
Have had it for over a year, using for both work and gaming. Very happy.

    • Owned both G pro x and RVU after a few weeks using both I ended up keeping the Viper ultimate and selling the G pro x.
It mostly came down to the better shape in hand on the viper and the Logitech was actually too light for my liking whereas the viper has a little more weight but is still light enough to feel well balanced.

    • I switched from a Logitech to this and I love it - it also supports Nvidia reflex if that interests you.

    • Yeah I got it after moving from the fabled Logitech G9X. At first I couldnt believe how light it was. It was uncomfortably light, but now I love it. It's a dream to move around. The mouse clicks are perfectly tactile. The cord it comes with (if you need to charge while using the mouse) is super light as well.

It's a very high quality product, at $111 it's a steal. People say the connection to the charging dock can break and tbh that would be annoying, but not a deal breaker at all.

    • I had the logitech g pro and it failed on me after a day, returned it and go this. Very happy with it, owned it for a year or so.

I use it all day at work and a bit of gaming and it's great. Works great on windows/linux as they have their own technology they use so it's plug and play and no bluetooth pairing.

  • Will only get cheaper with the new version coming soon.

    • what is the diff between this and the new ver?

      • +1

From what I’ve seen: More expensive, usb C, sensor upgrades and some superficial stuff like rubber padding etc.

        • +2

Also weighs around 58g so significant drop in weight.

          • +1

            @end0rphine: No rgb also

          • +1

@end0rphine: The existing is already so light I wonder whether even lighter would actually make it harder to control

            • +2

@Shunto: Lighter will make it easier to control.

              • @Axelstrife: What if it weighed 0.1g

                • @tetra: Perfect, then it would be only the weight of your own hand if you can't control your own hand then some things wrong.

  • Is this overkill for an office mouse plus some gaming now and then, coming from a g305 which is fine but thought something lighter could be more comfortable

    • +1

For an office mouse, this is not a great mouse. You want that Logitech Infinity scroll. I love my MX Master for the office!

      • dont like the mx master as too heavy and dont really see the fuss about the scroll

        • +1

Then MX Anywhere is the answer!

    • Just mod the g305

    • +1

I use this as an office and gaming mouse and its great. It's so light I cannot go back to other mouses. Ignore what people say about infinity scroll. I have the MX Master and unless you are a programmer, infinity scroll is a gimmick.

      • Code might need refactoring if you need infinity scroll

      • +1

Inifinity scroll is useful for making your character look stupid in games as you're switching weapons incredibly fast

    • +1

Not sure if you have made your decision, however use for home and office use every day and find it perfect. Turn off the RGB lights and no one can tell its a gaming mouse. Very excel user at work and the infinite scroll is not a problem for me whatsoever. Hope this helps, I bought at full price in early 2020 and still really happy with it.

  • +1

The RVU is 3 years out of date at this point, if you're considering dropping $100+ on a mouse in the first place I'm going to assume you want the best. Either get the Logitech G Pro X Superlight or the upcoming Razer Viper V2 Pro, releasing in mid-April.

    • +1

V2 pro is probably going to be double the price though

  • I personally like this mouse very handy to use for excel and everyday stuff.

you can price match at office works and get 5% off as well.

  • +2

Great mouse but the charging dock kind of sucks. After a while it takes a lot of fiddling around to get the mouse to sit properly on the dock and actually charge.

    • +4

clean the contacts on the dock and on the mouse with a little bit of isopropyl alcohol every few months to negate this issue entirely. you can use a cue tip to reach the ones on the mouse itself. Not ideal to have to do this - but it solves the problem

      • +1

Thanks for sharing that tip, just gave it a clean and worked really well.

  • I remember buying this mouse for $169 a while back for a friend. That was from the Microsoft Store. It was considered an excellent deal at the time, and the cheapest it had ever been.

Crazy to see how much the price has dropped now.

    • +1

Because the RVU V3 is coming soon.

Essentially Razer's answer to the GPX Superlight. 57G.

      • Fair enough. I'm happy with my Basilisk X though :)

It's such a good mouse. I had an issue with my first one but I RMA'd it and got a brand new mouse.

        • What kind of issue previously you have with Basilisk X? I am using it as well but I hate when on and off it got disconnected from my pc and I have to turn off and on the power switch to get it connected back.

          • @vinsontan: After ~2 hours of using the mouse, the mouse would first slow down and then fully disconnect. I wasn't sure if it was a mouse error or the 2.4GHz receiver error because when I switched to Bluetooth mode it was completely fine.

Regardless, it was an issue and I needed a replacement/repair.

I'm happy with how they dealt with the situation and have no issues (so far) with this new mouse.

  • Would this be the best option as a wireless ambidextrous mouse for general work and day-to-day use? Any others to consider? Am currently using a Microsoft 3600 wireless mouse which is way to small for my big hands.

  • Anyone have any experience using this mouse through a USB hub? I have my mouse (Logitech G300s), keyboard (TT Neptune Elite RGB) and DAC (Topping VX-1) running through a 4 system unpowered Aten USB3.0 hub without any problems. Have been reading some reports of issues with wireless mice and hubs.

    • Yes maybe you need to get a powered USB Hub. It's anywhere from 25-30 from Amazon or local retailers (in this case I got two from MSY for 25 bucks each and got another one from Amazon for about 26$ on a sale I think). I personally dont trust the extremely cheap hubs from ebay.

I currently am running 4 usb hubs from my laptop. And all except one is unpowered and Ive got a powered one daisy chained to it. I just generally dont trust unpowered USB A hubs with my peripherals, especially in this case where it also serve as a charging stand and have RGB lighting.

      • Thanks for your thoughts. I would plug the charging dock into a power board directly, so it would only be the receiver in the hub/switch. I should have been clearer, the Aten is a USB 3.0 switch which allows me to share the peripherals across 4 different computers.

  • +2

This is the best mouse money can buy but not the best battery

  • Noob question.
What’s that one different to this below apart from RGB dock?
Center Com and wireless 1 selling them for $139 atm.

      Nothing.

The one you linked have the model number ending in R3U1 and this one have model number ending in R3A1.

This one seems to be the AU model since a google search of the -R3A1 model number netted me listing from local retailers while the model number under your link seems to be US stock as I get Bestbuy and Ebay US seller listings from the search.

      • @Brrrrt, thanks so much for the info. 👍🏼

  • I believe price matching Harvey Norman?

    • I personally have the deathadder v2 pro, good mouse better battery life over the viper. However Viper also comes with the charger dock which is a pretty decent deal ( dock separately is like $80.
OR Ebay $109 with coupon SAVEAPRIL delivered OR ebay plus for $107.10 with PTCH10 for the Deathadder v2 pro from titan gear

    • Depend on your grip and if you wanted a lighter mouse.

I personally liked the RVU better but to each others own.

  • Tempted by this, as my Viper Ultimate is getting pretty worn down from 10+ hours a day of wfh and gaming, is it worth waiting for the next generation instead?

    • The leaked Razer Viper V2 Pro is going to have upgraded switches, USB-C, and will be way lighter than the Viper Ultimate at 57 grams. However, you will lose the RGB, right side buttons, and the integrated rubber side grips (although it will probably come with grip tape) and charging dock from the current Viper Ultimate. Personally, I would be holding out for the release of that instead. Alternatively, you could try and replace the side grips and feet of your current Viper Ultimate to try and refresh it if you aren't keen on spending that much.

    • New one will probably be $250+ like this one was when new

  • Available again.

  • Has this expired?

    • Yes expired now.
