they might get out of it if Telstra don't have stock available to pick up "on the day"
That's not a requirement for the price beat guarantee. The items just have to be in stock with delivery factored in.
Are you sure? I've tried to purchase the Oppo phone but it still shows up as its normal price $399 at checkout and even if I add in a plan it still does that. I cant seem to get the deal price no matter what I try.
They've now updated the post to indicate it was an error and is $399, not $299.

Repayments over 24-36 months for no extra cost seems like a no brainer… Does anyone know what happens if you close your Telstra account before then? Do you just pay out the balance or is there an extra fee?

Just bought a P6 Pro (mrs willyroo stole mine last week) at Officeworks Milton $1,044.05. 5% price beat.
Anyone know if I can get this price over the phone or does it need to be in person? Currently away from any OW.
You can call up your local store and ask for a price beat. Unfortunately they didn't let me because at checkout the 'Telstra ID' requires you to be a Telstra customer, but maybe you'll have more luck.
I explained that to the team member at Milton, told him I was a Telstra member, he navigated to the page and said "yep no problem".
I just got the 5% price beat from Officeworks via phone, 1300 OFFICE (1300 633 423). (Pixel 6 for $806.55 plus $5.95 delivery)
Just called my local, also had no luck because the manager said the phones were "locked to Telstra".
I can't imagine I'll be changing any manager's minds, so I think I'm out of luck for this one. Keen to keep hearing other success stories though!
@Tobyseus: Better to ring the 1800. They put me on hold for a few minutes, must have spoken with supervisor and came back with the discounted price. For what it is worth you could say that you heard that someone else got the Pixel 6 Sorta Seaform with the Product Code GPIX602910 discounted this morning already.
@narnian: Thanks for the tip, I did try the number you mentioned after my failed attempt with the local store, but ran into similar issues (the agent advising that they couldn't price beat since it was not a widely available deal).
It was also a significantly longer wait time to speak to them, so I'm less inclined to try again… but we'll see how I feel as the day progresses!

After a failed attempt at a local OW wrangling a small child I was going to give up and see if I could get it off the Telstra store instead.
Called up that # and they processed the transaction (GP6 $806) with no hesitation and will be sent to a store as they dont deliver to parcel lockers.
Cant wait to throw out my smashed up 2XL 🤣

Was able to get my local OW to price match on the 6 pro.
Had to open up Telstra on my phone, add it to the cart and show the manager that you could proceed to checkout without adding a mobile plan.
Pre-seasoned them with a story about how I hate Telstra and much to prefer all my electronics from OW.

You have to buy it outright if you don't want to attach it to a plan from what I can read

Thanks OP. Just got the price beat over the phone with Office works as well for the P6 Pro. Been hanging on to my 3XL which I left on top of my wife's car. Located it 3km down the road, still works but smashed screen which would cost more than it's worth to repair. Good excuse and time to upgrade.

I called their 1300 number, they approved it. Then they just find the closet store for you and put in a click and collect, or have it delivered fr om the warehouse.

Hey guys I just went to my local OW and they did a PBG on the Pixel 6 Pro so the price ended up being $1044.05.
Things they asked:
1. Do you get locked into a Telstra plan? - Just show the page where it says "Do I have to be a Telstra customer to shop Telstra Day?" to prove.
2. Do Telstra charge for shipping? - Show this page which is linked to the Telstra Day official page.
3. This deal requires you to have a Telstra ID. I have my own Telstra ID and was ready to show but OW didn't even check. But be ready to show it otherwise take a punt and tell them you have your ID even though you don't.
4. Show the price listed in the page and tell OW that it is listed for $xxx on Telstra Day page.
Since you have to on a Telstra service to purchase outright, will registering a prepaid SIM card work? Or does it have to be plan based services? Can anyone verify this? Tried price matching with Jb but they notice that clause of needed to have a Telstra service for the deal.

Wanted to buy the Google 6 Pro. Went to JB and Officeworks (both in store and called) but they didn't agree to price match/beat. They said they had communication not to price match/beat Telstra deal as you need to have a Telstra ID blah blah. Got it from Melbourne CBD Telstra store for $1,099.00 in the end.
Are you with Telstra? I went to a store and they said they can't sell a phone outright without an active service.
I am not with Telstra but they had no problem selling me one outright in the Melbourne CBD store.
Too late to call their support and was on hold for 15 min trying to reach my local store so I gave up. Plus when I try and go through checkout it requires me to be an existing customer which I am not. Absolute waste of time.
I called up another store and the manager said I needed to come in and show him in person because there are apparently different models of the Pixel 6 and he can't just confirm a price match over the phone.
