QuickBooks Pro 2012 is the best financial management software I've ever used, I got it for $300 a few months ago, and now it's this cheap. It has never been this cheap before, so I wish I'd waited.

To get it for this price, just sign up to Amazon with a fake US billing address which you can find here: http://www.fakenamegenerator.com/

If you buy the American version wouldn't it follow American tax rules?

      I think it does.
I bought last years one from America and it would not work with any Australian version files.

      • Lol

  • Don't waste your time Try www.xero.com.au

    • Is this xero software free?

      • from $29 / month, who knows if it is any good.

  • If this version is not suitable for Australia (most likely), OP please confirm or post link.
Then maybe mods should remove the post before OZBargain folks get mislead.

Definitely not the Australian version. Which makes it useless if you want to give the data file to your accountant. I see no reason to buy this, even if it is for free (if you are in business in Australia).

i agree, neg because virtually useless for AU.

  • Won't do BAS, will struggle to handle GST etc correctly.
The AU ans US versions are quite different.

This deal only highlights another way we get ripped off paying high premiums compared to world prices.

[edit] would like to see someone to an officeworks price match, though :)

  • You could try downloading the tax update from the Aus site, it might overcome that issue.

  • I have been using US version since 2009 for my business. All I did was changed the name SALES TAX to GST. and amount of GST % to 10%. (since 2009 they have tried to make the look & feel of the Quickbooks the same - no matter which country version you buy)

All main reports are the same as Australian version. Profit & loss, Sales tax (GST) etc.
You can give reports to the accountant or export to excel.

This would suit many small businesses/contractors/sole traders.
Almost half price than Australian version.
Why is it that software and many other things cost almost twice as much in Australia compare to US.
