    • Thanks for sharing the pointer, these turned out to be good value!

  • The 160k pts from anz, use it for this?

  • I have mine and my wife's account. We are not that familiar with the points structure but we liked something and we can only make up with the points if we combine them. Is there a way to combine 2 account points to 1 and how quickly can that be done please?

  • I started collecting qantas points last year, as previously I was on other credit cards that didn't attract QFF. I've amounted about 430k now.

But looking at an example flight booking from Sydney to Japan for a family of 4, you hafe to pretty much use 400k points and pay $1k. Is this still good value? Or are the points really predominantly exercised for econ to bus upgrades?

    • Simple way to work out. Price what you'd use the points on otherwise, whether gift cards, products or other upgrades. Gift cards are the most easy to compare, but you can use other things if you work out what they're worth to you as well.

Check what the cash cost of buying those fares are, and deduct the $1k you'd pay with points anyway.

Then weigh up whether you get more value from alternative products with those points, or if you save more with the fares here.

They're just an alternative currency so you just have to work out what that currency buys you otherwise, and which you find worth more.

    • I've been burnt before relying on points to be upgraded, unless you're Platinum QFF especially if it's going to be multiple seats. Well, depends on the route. And no maybe it's all different now after COVID…

I like using points for last minute domestic reward bookings

    • Classic Business Rewards flights are usually the best use. Perth to Melbourne is 80k points + $80 in taxes. Make sure you get the Airbus A330.

Couldn't help myself. With 532,000 pts sitting idle on my QFF account, I pulled the pin and bought a Garmin Fenix 7 sapphire solar exclusive (carbon dlc with carbon titanium band) for 214,000 pts delivered. I usually only use points for rewards upgrades, but without much travel in the last 2 years, better just use those points and get something worth $1749 for "free." The 300k+ points that remain will suffice for when needed again!

    • nice! what kind of sports do you do?

I've also got 600k that I've been building for a while for a dream flight but super tempted to get some gift cards

      Enjoy the watch!

214k pts tho is worth $2200-2400 on here
You could of made 500 bucks by selling the pts and buying it.

  • whats the easiet way to earn points , mine are about to expire

qantas mall (google it). Its a bit like shopback but gives qantas points instead off cashback. Click through to the ebay.com.au site and buy something on there to get some qantas points credit.

Download the Qantas Wellbeing App by Qantas Insurance. It’s free and you don’t need to purchase anything.

Basically it awards you small amounts of points for certain wellness activities like moving around / walking, filling out the various “check up” questionnaires (which each take like 10 seconds to do).

You only really need to do 1 of those things and you get awarded like 0.5 Qantas points to 10 Qantas Points.

And they get transferred to your Qantas account pretty much instantaneously.

Don’t know why more people don’t know about this.

Appreciate the tip, but 0.5 to 10 Qantas points for performing an activity?

Considering 20,000pts are worth about $100, is it even worth opening up an app on your phone for a maximum of $0.05 (10pts)?

At that earn rate you would be lucky to clear a dollar or two of value a month. Maybe I am missing something.

        • +7

Yes you are. People primarily use it to keep their account active, not so much to earn points.

      Download the qantas wellbeing app

    • Maybe not the easiest but additional to those mentioned. Get an Everyday Rewards account, link it to QFF and go shopping. But you will need to earn 2000 points (spend $2000 and/or earn bonus points) before it will be transferred to QFF.

  • Is it really 30% off though.
I feel like the set point for price is so much higher when paying with point by the time you add in the fluctuating value of a Qantas point.

  • Tangentially relates - does anyone know if Qantas email you before your points are set to expire?

    • They don't expire unless you somehow actively avoid gaining any points for a whole year.

This is quite difficult - you'd need to stop using your credit card, stop shopping at woolworths, stop paying your power bill, stop watching sport on Kayo, and stop the other various ways points continually flow into your account !

      • Filling up at BP. I know this after spending 3 hours on hold to Qantas yesterday.

        • how ? like you have to tell them your QFF number to the cashier ?

  • Boom! Lucky me I just snagged the last SPB143J =)

  • Whats the best value gift card?

  • Can you buy points at 30% discount?

    • That is correct.

Has anyone received their digital gift cards yet?
I am still waiting since thursday.

    • I redeemed my points for Priceline giftcard and the card arrived almost instantly.
(I only redeemed for $50 tho.)

    • +1

I’m still waiting as well, stuck on processing despite saying I would get an email between 24-48 hours

      • I'm waiting as well. Do you received the giftcard now?

  • Thanks got a $200 gift card for 25k points not bad at all

  • The Garmin descent solar G1 aren't a bad deal given they have just launched and early their dive watches go on sale. Even with part payment part points it's a good deal.

  • Did anyone purchase a $250 gift card who is willing to swap it for 40k Qantas point? It's a long shot, but I thought I would give it a try.

has anyone got their order cancelled? i ordered an iphone pro max 256gb on 7/04/22, received email yesterday saying below:

    Dear Mr xxxx

Thank you for your recent purchase from the Qantas Rewards Store.

We’re writing to you to advise that we’re unable to fulfil your order for the iPhone 13 Pro Max 256GB due to a system issue on our end. We've processed a refund of 245,791 points to your account.

Your account has been credited with 2000 Qantas points that can be used to purchase the same item at https://store.qantas.com/au

We’re very sorry for the inconvenience and hope you enjoy shopping with the Rewards Store in the future. If you have any further queries, please call us on 1300 662 859 between 8am and 7pm (AEST), Monday to Saturday.

    Kind regards,

    xxxx
    Rewards Store Team

Now if i re-order again that will have 105,000 point difference. called the 1300, the lady said will talk to "manager" and see what can be done. Apparently the system issue was the order wasnt send to warehouse to be filled so whoever process this order just cancel and provide 2000 point as good will compare to 105k points. Lamest excuse ever.
