  • I'm sure there would be a cap on the 21% categories.

I hope you prove me wrong, that would be awesome

    • +5

There’s no cap from what GYB showed me :)

      • +1

        Thanks :)

      • +1

So 21% cash back for gift cards also?

  • +16

Can't wait to order 5 things and have 7 of them canceled

    • +8

(And have the cashback invalidated I’ve heard)

      • I'm still waiting for mine to be confirmed but they seem to apply cashback separately for each item so it shouldn't (hopefully) be affected by cancellations. I guess I'll know in a month or two.

      • So the least risky way will be to order 11 items in 11 separate transactions.

  • +1

Is GC an eligible payment method?

    • +1

      It’s listed in their Donts:

Purchases made on the Myer app, Purchase of Giftcards and Purchases with the use of Giftcards ( Whether Partial / Fully ) / Myer Loyalty / Promo code not listed on ShopBack

  • If only they stocked Xbox series x haha

    • Even if they did, it would be out of stock.

  • +1

    Whats a GYB?

    • +3

      SB rep

    • +14

      That would be me :)

      • +1

Hey mate, could you please elaborate on what the Entertainment category includes? Thanks!

        • +1

          Notes

          • As of 1st Feb 2021 cashback is eligible for the Entertainment and Electrical category
          • Entertainment & Electrical category includes electronics, audio & speakers, computers & laptops (including games and accessories), heating & cooling, household & kitchen appliances, phones & accessories, movies & music, personal & health care appliances,
          • Entertainment & Electrical category also includes sports & fitness equipment, photography, portable audio, TV & Video, connected home, home surveillance, eReaders, smart watches, luggage & travel goods
          • @Taegukgi: Thanks mate

            • +2

@Eeleel: So @dealbot the 12% is on Toys and Entertainment. Does Entertainment = Entertainment AND electrical as per your above post?

Reason I ask is I want a dyson stick vac, wondering if it would be 12 or 21%

              • @oxblood8: Hey, would you be able to link the product to me via DM so I can take a look for you?

                  • +1

@jyueli: Based on the page's breadcrumbs (Home > Appliances > Household Appliances > Vacuum Cleaners) I would assume it falls under the Household & Kitchen Appliances Category.

This likely puts it under the umbrella of "Entertainment", likely to receive 12%.

I'm not saying this with absolute confidence, as the product category is a little ambiguous here.
I would expect 12% Cashback for this product.

              • @oxblood8: Keeping an eye out for one of those two.. got a Bosch Athlet and there's an issue with them that the power cuts out every few seconds. Stuff isn't made to last these days which is annoying at but think a design fault (either over heating due to dirty filters or the connection bad from where the handle joins on. Don't feel like spending $1k on a Dyson..

        • Sorry for the delay - was offline this arvo.
Cheers @dealbot for covering that for me :)

Feel free to reach out if you have any questions.

Would bring C1 77" under 4k($3942) if it is actually uncapped and it tracks correctly. Although i'm not sure if TV's fall under entertainment or not. $4391 if only 12% which is still much cheaper than its been.

    • Price would be $4046.08, after removing GST from CB. Also it is $75 delivery, in VIC it says not available for C&C so $4,121.75 which is still a steal.

      • ah yes thank you. i forgot about gst.

        • This was the first thing I checked after seeing uncapped :)

Thought I would do a dry run to check delivery price…despite there being a myers one suburb over apparently I'm outside of "metro"?? no new tv for me :(

      • I'll prob get roasted for this… but can you show you're working (old school school styles please, lol)

Myer has the LG 77" C1 for $4,989 (RRP $6,999)
12% cashback excluding gst would be $538.812

So $4,450.19 (+ delivery if it ain't free, which i thought should be for orders that much)

I wasn't even considering this, but will get it if I can it for around $4k 😁

        • When this deal was originally posted it was unclear whether TVs fell under the entertainment category. Therefore my calculations are now wrong since it isn't 21% cashback, but 12%

          • @cute as duck: Ah, all good. I combined your comment with the one above that mentioned 12% 😅 my bad 🥴

    • Need rep to confirm which category tv fall under.

      • dealbot posted a comment above, TV falls under Entertainment category

        • Can you edit your post?

          From this:
          12% on Toys and Entertainment
Thanks to dealbot’s comment on what classifies as “Entertainment”

          To this:
12% on Toys; "Entertainment and electronics"
Thanks to dealbot’s comment on what classifies as “Entertainment and electronics”

          • @justtoreply: The banner of the promo later on ShopBack will show as 12% on Toy & Entertainment

If I change it to your suggestion it’ll not be accurate as per the OzB rules on posting

            • @BargainsGrabber: I don't know what you mean. They are the exact categories used by shopback. Click the (i) icon after going to myer via shopback and you'll see. The banner text is wrong and irrelevant.

              • @justtoreply: I’ll check it again when the upsize goes live. If it’s wrong I’ll update the title to reflect what is shown on ShopBack.

At this stage, I’ll leave it as it is from the details provided by GYB

  • Is cashback eligible on payments using egift cards or Myer one credits?

    • Answered in the comments section already

      • Question (to yourself or others) regarding Myer One, but not credits. Can I join up to Myer One to claim credits on any purchases, or would this also invalidate any cashback? TIA
        savemore

        • +1

Credits can be earned during any Myer upsized cashbacks

If you’ve saved up a lot and when there’s no deal on Myer cashback, you can always use it at a later time :)

          Cheers!

          • +1

@BargainsGrabber: Thanks for answering all my random questions!

            • +1

@savemore: No worries, just make sure you’ve signed up before clicking through on ShopBack and signed in before checking out when on ShopBack app

              • @BargainsGrabber: Yep, did all that on a separate device to ensure I didn't 'visit another website' potentially invalidating my cashback. Thanks for the tip though.

  • +2

So a Dyson vacuum would be under entrainment as it's 'entertainment and electrical' as one group?

  • -7

what's going on here I don't get it why 51 people liked this post

  • I want a vertical waffle maker that’s on sale.
    Is it entertainment too?

    • Oh yes it is. Disappointing but still happy with 12%

    • Waffle iron poots are quite entertaining

  • -7

Here's an idea - how about the official shopback people post shopback stuff instead of going through a middleman?

If they are not busy enough to give the ok, they can bother their ass to also do the post.

    • +4

I reach out to GYB to ask what upsized cashbacks there are so that the community are aware of what’s available at 12.00am AEST. I post deals as a hobby/fun if I have any free time

      • -2

There was one deal today already that had a shopback giftcard deal without any instructions whatsoever. gotyourback should have absolutely been the one who posted it, so there was some accountability.

        • +5

Anyone can post deals on OzBargain fella. This isn't simply a broadcast channel for businesses having sales.

    • +22

Hey @gringo just a few points on this:

      • OzBargain has posting limits for store accounts, so I wouldn't be able to own all the ShopBack posts.
      • I understand that I'm the front line of customer support on OzBargain but I also try to enjoy my weekends where possible, when I'm not busy I'll hop on to see if everything is okay.
      • At this time, it's just 1 person that manages the store account (me). I'm sorry if I missed your earlier comment regarding the 44% Cashback, these things can slip through the cracks - especially over the weekends.

If you have any questions, feel free to send me a DM.
Best to title the message with [URGENT] if you need a response over the weekend, otherwise I'll just leave it for Monday when I'm back online.

      Cheers,
      GYB

      • Kudos to u sir/madam, did not know you were one-manning the whole ozbargain community for all shopback queries, and in ur own time too for weekends!

  • Nice, they sent me 2 x $10 reward gift cards . Glad i waited

    • +1

Use of giftcards will invalidate any cashback mate :(

      • Always works for me

        • +2

I thought so too… until it got declined 😔

          • +1

@neezy: The 2 orders ive ever made with GC were approved

            • @easternculture: Even though it clearly stated in the T&Cs that gift cards would not be approved?

I know sometimes they are allowed like recently with TGGs who allow max 2 x GCs.

Just wondering if I should risk it for the biscuit, lol. Do u remember the links to the deals?

  • Can we add the items to Myer cart now (through shopback) and check out between 10am - 2pm to be eligible for higher cashback?

    • +1

Technical this should be okay, but I would advise against it.
If the item is in your cart prior to checkout & there ends up being stock issues/cancellations, it may impact your Cashback.

  • +1

Any upsize cashback for first choice liquor? Thanks

  • +1

Still waiting for SB to track my sizable BWS 40% rebate deal

    • +1

Hi mate I've mentioned to you via DM that this will take a few weeks to resolve.
Please have a little patience with us while we get the payments approved.

    • I’m in the same boat as JakDac, the 40% rebate didn’t track so I had to provide all the proof (payment receipt with time stamp, etc etc ) to shopback and the rebate amount is still stuck in pending, result won’t be know until 1st Aug :(

  • -4

Mate a few weeks the vendor will probably not accept returns and there is a fair bit of $$ involved here. A google on SB shows thet are making big $$ if their reputation is bad so wont their profits . The ONLY reason I pulled the trigger was because of deal. NOT yoyr fault as SB has all documented evidence they should honor NOW

comments on the other deal SB is advertising at the moment

When complaining to Shopback they have no chat or phone help they seem to have an email address that tells you to wait till AUGUST to see if it will rebate. Do not think vendor will honour a return in FOUR months

AGAIN JUST SHOPPED AT THE ICONIC & TRACKED AT STANDARD 3.5% FFS EVERY UPSIZE COMES WITH PROBLEMS ON SHOPBACK!!

Shopback still weary my 40% BWS not tracked sent in receipts BWS and Paypal

Be very careful ordering off the Iconic! Cashback is not tracking at 20%, only the standard rate. I did use the ‘SB20NEW’ promo code, however this is an approved promo code on ShopBack so I’m of the understanding that this shouldn’t be affecting the cashback rate. Pretty disappointed…

Yeah cashback is messed up, @gotyourback

I made purchase after 11am it was 11.38am. It should be 20%

Yeah my order tracked at the standard rate too

I experienced the same without voucher It's tracking at standard rate.

  • Someone please suggest me something that i can buy from myer on this sale?

    • Perfume?

      • +1

depends what brand, Chanel and Dior are ineligible for Cashback. other main brands are so overpriced compared to Chemistwarehouse. But Hermes are a good choice for this promo.

      • Gormio armarni perhaps

    • Clothes

    • Socks and jocks.

    • Candles & The Ordinary products

    • Maxwell French press

  • Wanted to buy C1 77" under $4k. Little disappointed with 12%

  • Reminder to buy things Seperately for cashback rate and cancellation reasons

    • +1

Good for clothes if you need to return due to sizing issues. Had that the other day where 2 identical pants had the same size tag but were wayyyyy different.

      • I've had this happen twice already, once even with Tommy Hilfiger

      • Ps. I've wondered if exchanging the same item for a different size would screw up the cashback, have a feeling it does (no returns/exchanges, but hard to know)

    • Best to try on first, hit and miss most of the time
