  • Does anyone know the thinness index numbers?
From my old receipts, it appears that ultimate thin is 1.74 and super thin is 1.67.
What’s the index of extra thin?(my understanding is that extra thin is the one that comes with the 2 for $399 range)
    And what’s index of normal?
    Thank you

    • Normal is 1.5
      Extra 1.6
      Super 1.67
      Ultimate 1.74
      Hope this helps :).

      • Thank you

  • I asked in store at specsavers launceston today and was told the $399 ultralight frames with the lenses included in the price, as discussed above, aren’t included in this offer?

    • Go to another Specsavers, it definitely is included in the offer. Maybe call another store and ask them.

      • I just had the same experience at Specsavers Altona Gate (Vic). They said not included, I asked to be shown the T&Cs that stated that, in contradiction to what the website and signs say about “any 2 pairs”. They scrambled but couldn’t find anything, then the store/franchise owner came out and doubled down on the refusal, telling me the thin lenses cost more (ok?).
I called corporate, who told me that the rimless are definitely included and could they talk to the store manager to clear it up. The manager/owner refused to take the call, claimed to be too busy today and simply would not include the $399 pair in the deal.

        Wow. Just wow.

I’ll be going to highpoint tonight instead and will never spend another dollar at the Altona Gate store!

I was after some wrap around glasses, or something face hugging.

The safety glasses range from my local Specsavers are either JCB or a handful of Eyres styles.
The stylish Eyres are $380 each, extra $100 for transition. (Single vision)

Can you recommend me something please?

    • I'm also keen to know of this. I bought the glasses three days ago but maybe SpecSaver's can change it again (I changed it on the 2nd day as well), especially if I throw extra money at them.

I did specify I wanted this for exercise and outdoor use as well so Optical dispenser should have mentioned this possibility.

Eyebuydirect will usually always be cheaper than anything from Specsavers.

  • If I buy thin and reactions options for one pair, does these lens options automatically apply to the second pair of frame also, without additional payment with this offer?

    • Had to pay twice for the anti glare coating

  • Hi guys do you know if also the rimmed Ultralight will come with free thin lenses and ultra coating? I can’t stand rimless frames and would like to get the free included upgrades. Thanks

  • The many discount codes for SpecSaver's may have finally paid off for them from me in the form of good will.

I spent $450 for two pairs of glasses with coatings and thin lenses. The lens plus coatings cost more then the frames!

I'm also looking at their home brand version of the dailies. I'm trying the astigmatism correction but found it didn't have enough value in the past that I just took the standard spherical lenses without astigmatism correction.

This has been extended to May 25. Displayed on the website and confirmed with staff in one of the stores.

  • I recently bought a pair from Zenni and I don't think I am ever going back to SpecSavers!

    • Zunni or Zenni?

Ok you corrected it whilst I was posting. All good.

      • haha yep, not used to the name yet - but loving their prescription sunnies.

  • Good sale, I bought 2 pairs from $399 range, both with 1.74 lenses, one with sunglass tint and only cost $423
