Darn. Just outside of the Formula 1 dates for Singapore. 30/09-02/10. Looks like my dates would be around $200 more.

    • +1

Very lucky to get tickets during yesterday's release, now just got to figure how to get there without having to sell a kidney

    • +4

$200 more for the F1 dates is still a really good flight deal with SQ

  • By particular month/s good to visit? (Weather, attractions etc)

    • +1

Probably during June period, its like a "summer" time over there. If you go end of the year, heaps of rain.

    • It rains all year-round but more so at the start and end of the year (Jan & Dec)
Unless you're doing outdoor activities, I wouldn't be too concerned with it as the rain tends to come in short-bursts (and it gives some relief from the heat)

You'd want to avoid the major holidays such as CNY which occurs around Feb

  • I think price in title for SYD-SIN should be $563, not $463

    • Thanks. I have corrected it!

  • I'm hoping you'll have the same deal for travelling in December soon.

    • Usually early part of December, just before the school holidays!

  • Have they stopped doing stopover packages?

  • Still available, but not as good as it once was
    https://www.singaporeair.com/en_UK/au/plan-travel/local-prom…

  • @flightfinderau you may need to look at the useability of your site as I cannot change the number of adults flying as the drop-down is obscured by the 'search other dates' button on two different browsers

    • Thanks. I will look into it. Are you using a desktop?

    • In the interim. Select the dates first and then select passengers - seems to work

  • +1

Hope by then our Australian airports have reduced the queue!

  • +1

Also, now we can start mention in all our other deals, TRS claims!

  • +2

This deal couldn’t have been timed better - needed a PER-SIN return to connect to Turkish. Had the outward leg sorted with QF points but was going to book the return leg for $460 last night. Wake up to this, booked it immediately. Saved myself $150 and 20k points. Excellent!

Now to adjust to flying Star Alliance 👀

    Thanks very much OP.

    • No problems. Happy to help and have a great trip!

  • wish VA will reopen its own SIN route soon.

    • +2

Can't see it happening soon I am afraid. VA international focus atm seems to be short haul.

    • That is never going to happen.

The best we will get would be codeshare to Singapore Airline unless Virgin Australia cancel its alliance with Singapore Airline.

Really the alliance benefits more frequent flyers of Singapore Airline instead of Virgin Australia Velocity members.

Singapore Airline appears to still have some influence over Virgin Australia.

Note if you do fly in economy as a Velocity Gold using Singapore Airline the lounge access in Singapore is Gold Lounge and not Silver Lounge.

Last time I checked this was closed but this lounge does not have access to a shower or toilet.

      • code share is even better haha…really want that to exhaust my future credit

        • If I recally correctly travel bank or future credit can only be used on Virgin Australia operated flights.

Generally speaking you are better off booking directly with the airline instead of a codeshare.

  • +1

Start queuing at Sydney airport now if you're booking for the end of the year.

  • What happens if cancelled by the airline for to covid? What about if I can't travel from getting covid?

    • +1

Travel insurance might be the way to go? and look for ones with favourable covid policies.

  • +2

anyone tried flying into Singapore and crossing over to Malaysia by land for a short trip? interested if any hassles doing this, especially in regard to Covid requirements

    • Interested in any experiences… We had a Lego land trip planned just when COVID hit… Wonder if the same trip would be harder now…

  • Best option for Asia atm with limited covid protocols? Hearing Cambodia, Malaysia has opened up with no real restrictions but must be others..

  • Just wondering how these deals are worked out Im flexible on dates between Jun/July/Early August but only want to travel to Singapore for a week (most of the deals are 10days+). There are flights from 27Jul-9Aug and 20Jul-3Aug. Why couldn’t I get the same deal going from 27th Jul to 3rd Aug?
I also assume if I click the link and the price for the airline is higher then the deal has sold out?
    Would love your help flightfinderau
Also, a suggestion for the website would be able to put in a date range for flights and your trip duration to find the cheapest deals too.
    Cheers!
