BlackVue DR900X-2CH PLUS 4K UHD Dash Cam $663.20 (was $829) + Delivery ($0 C&C) @ Autobarn Online

190

Excellent price for the new model.

With the X Series you no longer need the Power Magic Pro as it is built in.

I will also look at buying the BlackVue Power Magic Ultra Battery - B-124X for $343.20 also to save my own car battery.

  • Does anybody know how much Autobahn charges for installation?

    • +3

Depends on the type of car (different models have different requirements for wiring) and if the store has an installer onsite or if they need to get one in to do the job

As such, you would need to ask your local store for details

Fyi. Its 20% off store wide for today only..

    • Saw that but Online only today.

      • +1

Installation is excluded anyways .. but the store will be able to assist you with how much from tomorrow.

        • Thank you. Ill contact them tomorrow.

  • Good to see the battery is LiFePo4. It scares me the number of people storing LiPO jump batteries in their cars considering the temperature the interior gets to

    • Lol no, lipo only degrade in temp something above 100C and even then there are mechanisms to stop it causing the pack become inoperable. To get to such temp most electronic devices will refuse to operate in the first place. There're a fair amount of reports them exploding but i haven't heard anyone losing their car from an exploding dashcam parking under the sun yet.

What does the power magic battery do? I thought these latest gen had the power magic pro thing built in for parking mode??

    • Sorry have update my post. They do come built in the X series but I want it separate from draining the car battery in parking mode, even with the voltage cut off. YMMV.

    • The PMP depletes your car battery, the power magic battery is a separate battery so your vehicles battery doesn't get depleted

      • +2

Ok thanks, that adds a quite an expense.

  • Speaking of the battery, are there any other options to keep the camera running as long as possible? Without hardwiring the camera in?

    • Use a portable battery. Would use both hard wire and extra battery.

    • usb powerbank + usb to 12v cigarette socket adapter + plug dashcam in.

  • Has anyone found a deal on the 256GB Blackvue Micro SD Card or BlackVue CPL Filters?

    • +2

Buy a Sandisk SD card from Amazon. Probably be cheaper

    • +2

The blackvue au CPL filters are garbage. Blackvue AU 3D print their own and are not the same as what Blackvue have. The lens came apart from the housing after about 1 year. In heat, the lens would become loose and slide around.

      • +3

They also fade very badly and turn grey

  • I currently have the iroad x9 installed, from what I can see, the input cables look the same (DC power in, mini-Usb), would I be able to just swap the front and rear cameras with this Blackvue using existing cables?

  • +3

When you install this - change the default password!!!. Suprising that every carpark has one or two of these running when the car is off - which means while your out shopping for your easter eggs, anyone can easily connect to your blackvue & download & replay any recorded videos of where you've been & listen to what you've said in the car.

Who'd be interested? 99% would be abusing other drivers, singing and farts.

      • +2

And where they live, that 2 week vacation next week where no one will be home etc.

    • The password is different for every camera isn't it? My 2 cameras are not the same and its not something someone would be able to guess as it is not something like 'password'

  • Should I upgrade from the Viofo a129?
That parking mode is too sensitive for auto detection…

I thought I read in a previous thread there may be some incompatibilities with the RAV4 hybrid due to how the battery works. Can't find that discussion any more. Is anyone aware of issues?

  • Repco have now price-matched this.

    • But when you add it to cart, it says $829

      • Not for me, it still shows as $663.20

        • Looks like they fixed it, I wonder how long the discount is for?

          • +1

@TieNN89: Looks like it's available online and in store tomorrow as well.
