JBL Link Bar 10" Wireless Subwoofer $34 ($0 C&C/ in-Store) @ The Good Guys

590

Probably a price error which Good Guys loves to do. But seems cheap to add to your soundbar

will this work on its own or does it need a jbl link sound bar?

    • +2

      Needs to be paired

Someone was talking about hacking it though?

Looks like there's hope. I'd pay $34 just for the opportunity to tinker around.

        • +2

That is a good hack it seems.
Even if you have minimal soldering skills.

          Stock shows in Dandenong store

        • I know its a late reply - but…
          I might also be wrong - but…
There's a key difference between the one in the video and this one.
The guy in the video was able to identify the analog inputs and solder a jack onto it.
My reading of the other info I can see on this one is that its all digital (no analog inputs)

    • From what I can tell, it only works with the link sound bar. I couldn't find any reference to it working outside of the link bar environment, and the only connectors on the sub are power and a button to pair it with the link bar.

RRP is normally $349.95, so I'm guessing a price error. But it shows out of stock in a lot of places so maybe they are running it out?

  • Damn, can't find any stores in Sydney

I think this might actually be legit

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/675378

      • Wow, surprised by the over 90% price plummet.
Must have not sold very well..

        • Only works with 1 specific soundbar, I have the soundbar but didn't bother with the subwoofer. It's a bit of a niche product in that it combines a soundbar with a Google TV but retail price was higher than just buying a good soundbar and a Google TV.

  • Wagga Wagga TGG showing stock for pickup fyi

      Username checks out.

It's probably not a price error, just final clearance. They had them for fairly cheap a few months back.

In stock at Bunbury, WA folk. Personally I can't be bothered, but might help some!

    • +1

Lol someone beat me to the 1 that was in stock in mandarah.

      • Think that was me, got a text this morning saying ready for pickup

    Personally I can't be bothered

You won't drive all the way down for this?

Your lack of ozbargain spirit disturbs me.

    • Getting 1000s in free money every year has become too easy — people are getting lazy (and indigestion from gorging themselves on the low-hanging fruit)

  • Bought 1 at Tamworth 2340. Thanks

    • Still stock there ? I am not able to find it

  • Reviews arent that great for this.

    • +5

I'm sure those reviews weren't by people that bought it at over 90% off.

      • +1

Why put any money towards something that isnt good, take that money and put it towards something that is good, then you wont regret it.

doesnt matter how cheap something is if its not good at what its supposed to do.

        • +5

What I was saying was, it may not be "great" at its RRP of nearly $400.
But it could be good at the price of $34.

        • Reviews are based on the price paid. There are probably many better options at $400, but at$35, it's probably going to be better than anything else at that price

  • Are some stores closed today? Apparently a bit of stock around me, however stores showing closed.

Also getting "This product cannot be ordered" when trying to buy online..

      Easter

      • Someone reported they grabbed stock in-store at Tamworth. So I'm confused..

        • Probably for C&C (when they could actually place an order), which can be collected once they're open again.

  • I'd buy it but i just don't know what to do with it once i get it.

    • -1

Why think about buying it then? The problem with site is it gets people like you to buy things they don't need, and they ended up wasting money instead of saving, which is what they think they're doing by getting a 'bargain'.

      • +12

i thought the point of Ozbargain was to waste all your money on crap you don't need.

    • +1

      Gift it to me

  • -4

    Thanks got 4 from chatswood

    • +2

Why 4? Leave some for others…

      • probably are scalper

    • Sigh, would love one to pair with my link bar….

  • Haha cannot be added.
    They are on to it!

  • Sorry, we can’t seem to find the page you’re looking for.

Price error, wait for refund and credit?

  • +1

The internal components alone are worth more than $34 - in fact, just the 10 inch driver would cost around $100 when purchased separately.

  • Is the power rating in RMS or PMPO?

  • There is stock in my local store but there is no link to order click and collect

  • would you be able to use this with a samsung soundbar?

    • scroll up

If anyone in WA didn't get one, but wants one to tinker around with, pm me. You can have my one (converted to passive).

  • Just received pick-up confirmation (Carseldine, Brisbane).

  • Have anyone tried to swap the wireless audio module for a Bluetooth module?
