Telstra day deal was $849 and the JBHIFI deal isn't for anyone who doesn't have an eligible phone for trade-in. This is cheaper than both and doesn't require trade-in or a Telstra account. Other deals from Heybattery have been posted here and received well so while I haven't personally dealt with them I'm assuming they're reliable.
It would be arguable that the price difference of $60 is not worth risking warranty and other issues for a $1000 RRP phone that one would assume you would use for a minimum of 3 years +
At which point the ease of mind in terms of serviceability would only cost you $20 per year, $20.5X even accounting for interest and loss of disposable income.
Edit: I would also like to point out that the Pixel has had a number of issues that for some people mean it's unusable. My dads P6 Pro for example drops calls regularly for no reason, drops wifi which prevents him from using it as a reliable Teams tether etc. In which case buying locally would mean you could possibly exchange or refund the phone for these reasons.
Fair but if you can price match it at Officeworks then you can deal with Officeworks for warranty and returns if anything goes wrong.

I have visited 2 OW stores. Both told me that they only price beat if it is sold by Kogan. I did not try calling.

Maybe try calling their head office and price matching over the phone. From what I've seen other people post on Ozbargain, it seems easier to get them to price match items rather than going in-store. Some store managers and staff either don't know the policy or will try give you the run around to not price match the item.

Exactly. I do not get these comments suggesting trade-in deals are better. My phone has $5 value according to JB. If I had a $300 phone that means I could sell it for around that so ends up being the same thing.
From what I understand, the $300 is in addition to the $5 you'd get for your phone. If you don't end up sending in your phone then they deduct the $5 from your credit card but you still get the benefit of the $300.

I was able to price get Officeworks to price match the price over the phone after two failed attempts at my local stores.
Only reason why they were able to price match it was because the Pixel 6 was shipped from Melbourne and not overseas.

Officeworks being super pedantic as usual… they won't pricematch over the phone with Kogan unless sold by Kogan… also tried BecexTech Australia (based in Vic) and they still wouldn't pricematch.
They said they are specifically looking for the manufacturer product code and barcode on the competing website if not listed they won't pricematch, don't waste your time with OW unless you are sure it's an Oz company with the local product code listed.
