No decent bundle deals for ITX mobos?

    • -5

+1 I don't want mini trash I want full size mobo

      • +1

Huh - in that case this deal is for you, plenty of full sized mobos!

      • Thats the equivalent of only wanting to drive an automatic car instead of a manual.

        • +3

Isn't it more the equivalent of not wanting to drive a tiny smart car when they want a ute?

As in, the full size mobo has more expansion capability, more I/O, etc.

          • -3

@OZKap: And not to forget it's so much easier to work in a proper case rather than the itx jokes.

      • That's what she said

  • Was thinking of getting an i5 12600 (349) and a MSI B660M-A Pro (209), would this be better value? (Worth the extra ~$50)
Edit: also follow up would the 3060 deal you get access too be better than 559 for a 6600xt? (All I've heard to really go the rtx way in this regard is better encoder for streaming and recording which I may do some of)

12600k or kf is worth a bit extra over a 12600. It has more cache and 4 extra (low power) cores, which are about 60% of the performance of a normal core. Essentially you have the power of 8 cores in a 12600k when using it for multicore workloads, and you also save electricity during the 99% of the time where you are just browsing the internet

Personally I will always go nvidia for GPU for the same reasons you mentioned

    • 6600xt over the 3060 6 days a week and twice on Sundays.

  • Only use Asus mobos wish they were included.

Not sure if the issues have been fixed with the Gigabyte Z690 boards but be aware that there were a few known issues mainly regarding XMP and memory speeds (DDR4 and DDR5).

I opted for the Asus board for my personal build to save any potential headaches.

    • +1

Yeah just went through the headache of RMA my gigabyte z690 and glad they refund my money, took almost a month to resolve it! So think twice before buying gigabyte z690 AND dealing with SE!

    • Seems to be resolved with bios update, however the only issue i have with this exact board is that im experiencing intermittent usb dropouts with various devices using rgb only plugged into usb 2 ports. So far they work fine via the usb 3 ports, buyer beware.
