  • Oh no! It looks like we may have moved the page you were looking for, or it may not exist anymore.

  • NO SALE? Page moved ? oops got to wait till 5pm

  • a couple of things-
you need to be a jetmail member to book this from 5pm. you get a link in your email to book.
public sale does not start till 6am tommorrow.

it looks like it wont show the fares available to be booked until 5pm- when the jetmail sale starts

  • been waiting for this to come up again.

i was going to use my frequent flyer points for return domestic flight but might save it for a long-haul (international) upgrade.

  • how to become a jetmail member?

  • I signed up for jetmail about 15mins ago but unfortunately don't seem to have made it onto this sales mailing list :(

I'd be very interested to find out if flights in January 2013 to Japan are included?

    • same :(

may anyone able to post the link up here plzzzzz??

  • Still not showing the routes at 5.06

  • I got the email but no flights are showing up. I'll check again later.

    • may you plzzz post the link up here??

      1000000 x THANKS

      • Read the deal mate its already there

        • Yep, it's the same as the one above.

          5:11pm and still nothing.

  • It's after 5. There are no sale fares!!

  • 10 past and still nothing

  • anyone else having trouble with the link from the email?

  • Not a single flight from or to Perth. -1 from me.

BTW - The sale is up now. :-)

    • I stand corrected. There are flights from and to Perth, but the drop down list shows nothing when I select departing Perth. If youre from WA, just do a CTRL+F.

    • At least some from Perth, don't select from the drop down list, just search the page.

    • Trying to get OOL to perth, but can't find any in dates… still comes up at full price.

    • $179 per person Perth to Bali return with great flight times. Very good deal!

  • +1

Flights are up. Travel dates aren't to my liking though. Oh well, good luck with everyone else booking flights!

  • No Sydney-Japan for my travel period :(

  • No sales to Ho Chi Minh :(

    • +2

      Yes there is, between 17sep-5nov.
      I need a friend :).

      • I'll be your friend if you're paying ;)

      • If you're willing to come with a family of 5, sure :)

        • +1

I'd go with a family of 5 to 100 if their paying lol

  • No good dates for me either. Trying to get to Bali for a not ridiculous amount.

  • +2

Not as good as prior Jetstar Birth day sales. Looking from past Ozbargain posts, the Jetstar birthday sales are usually in June? Did Jetstar change their birth date?

    • I think it was in June last year and may the year before.

  • +1

Even though I've selected birthday day flights, once I get to the customer check out area it doesn't register the
    'friend flies free' thing.

    Anyone else getting this?

    • +1

      Certainly am

      • +2

I tried just starting the process again and it worked.

Got myself flights from Melb to Cairns for $374 return

    • I had the same problem. Called them up and ended up getting charged $160 agent fee. :(

  • Prices aren't that good compared to previous take a friend sale. Flight dates are also more restricted compared to previous sales aswell

  • +1

they marked up the price :(

  • -1

Happy with teh prces. Not happy with the dates. They are a joke. The only time I could go to Singapore would be a long w/e in March. 10 months out isn't all that great in my opinion.

There are tix for SYD - Phuket in Feb/March. Those might be good for people who have bought group buy accommodation vouchers for Phuket.

  • +1

when ever this buy one get one free specials comes up, prices go to full fare

  • +1

    thailand here i come!!!

  • +1

It doesn't list any Sydney to Tokyo flights on that link but try clicking on Gold Coast to Tokyo then click to step 1 then select Sydney as your origin, and then click continue. When I did it, it showed a bunch of 2 for 1 flights. It might work for other destinations too.

      • Weird, I just did a Sydney to Manila one way. I would've booked return but I won't be returning within the sale period so I'll just fly back with someone else.

        • Ahh gotcha. I didn't try it the other way so I didn't know. Sorry it didn't work out :( That would've been my preferred way to go as well if a) it was available and b) if I could actually go to Japan during the travel period.

  • why the return flight from Honolulu to sydney is not promoted as brng a friend for free????????????fxxx!i almost placed the order@@

  • -6

No sales at 8pm. What a crock :(

    • -1

Yeah, I got the email but it looks like everything has sold out?

  • +1

Works for me. Planning my next ski trip to Japan already!
Prices are pretty good at $469pp for Gold Coast —> Tokyo.
Did you remember to pick 2 passengers coz I forgot to at first and was wondering why I couldn't get the sale fares to show.

    • Worked for me booked Per to DPS in March and Per to Melbourne in October. Thks for the heads up

    • +1

Im thinking he same trip.. is that a good price? Ive seen it cheaper for Japan specific sales

      • It's not exactly half price but it's not too bad considering the last few flights I got to Japan were about $700-900pp return in Dec/Jan when not on special. I couldn't find any friends that could get leave for next year though so trip for me :(

Guess I'll just have to wait for the Konnichiha specials where it'll hopefully be $500pp without the need to book 2 people.

  • +1

Now SYD-HKT is $459! Keep upping those prices Jetstar….I'll stick to Scoot and Air Asia.

  • Jetstar web page is so clumsy and I just got cut off in the middle of booking the fare and the price just doubled! Not happy

  • -6

Definitely not much of a sale, in fact some prices are higher than normal 'real' sale fares. eg. Flights to Japan are about $30 more than a proper Japan Sale from Gold Coast at least. I would definitely wait for proper sales at a later date before going ahead with these.

    • You get 2 tickets for the price of 1?

      • I'm saying compared to normal Japan Sales the price is quite higher. Yes you get 2 'full priced' tickets for the price of 1, which is cheaper indeed. But the reasons why this is not as good as proper Japan sales:
        1. Cost comes out more expensive to other Japan sales(eg. $235 both ways, compared to the usual $220 and $199 back)
        2. Does not half the cost per person like previous Jet* deals, it really is one person flies for free. Therefore, if you have three people, the third pays the cost of two sale fares. So you need an even number of people, and also cannot fly alone.

        • I agree with U but do you reckon the Carbon Tax will make the flights more expensive later in the year??

  • +1

Got slugged 60 bucks for luggage, can't just get luggage for one, what a rip. credit card fee was also for 4 for a round trip, another 50 bucks. Cheap fares, scam fees.

    • +1

There's a clickable pull down thing where I could've selected luggage for just one person. I didn't try it though since I didn't need it so I don't know how well it would've worked.

      • +1

on the second page you can get luggage for one but its twice the price as the first page…so either way they get the same money….

  • Does anyone know if the prices will increase when the Carbon Tax is introduced July 1? Trying to decide to book Japan flights or not :(

    • I know Qantas will up their fares after July 1st.

Or you know, you could just make dummy bookings one for now and another for after July 1st (that's how I found out Qantas was upping the fares)

      • Im going in November so maybe the flights have it included already?

      • Did a test it was cheaper July the 1st… Go figure

        • They're having a sale on right now, they usually do whenever Jetstar does.

  • I've got 2 other people going with me to Japan from Melbourne late nov-early dec, anyone want to join in to make it 4? :)

  • Not great deals where Ive been looking. By the time you factor their luggage in (and their terrible website) the qantas fair is virtually identical.
Adelaide - > Sydney for 3 people (so should be 2 fairs) in November

    Qantas $840
    JetStar $823

Add food and inflight service and your ahead on qantas.

    • I think you may be doing something wrong, I just tested in November
Adelaide-> Sydney return for 3 adults including baggage and it came to $572

      • not sure how it could be wrong.

  • Weeee, booked! Gold Coast to Tokyo in March 2013. Had to attempt it twice because halfway through the first booking, it decided to forget that this was for TFFF (happened to someone else in here too). Tried again and it remembered to the end.

Price may not be as amazing as some of the previous Japan sales but it's still better than when we went three years ago.

Still contemplating if I should also do a boy's trip to Bangkok in October… Hmmm.

  • So shattered that this wasn't available for my flights over new years :( I was so excited to finally find the deal I've been waiting for! :(

  • +1

    Mmmmm
Is it possible to get two seats for yourself, pay the extra for the plus package and earn twice the FF points + status credits? This might be handy since I do a lot of nigilated flying :(

  • Pretty happy. 2 return flights to Singapore for a total $620, now to look at some connecting flights…

  • Thanks for this!

Got 2 return tickets to Japan with 25kgs baggage and meals and Qantas frequent flyer points for about $900 return!

Cost me over $3000 flying Malaysian Airlines each time I have been before.

  • Doh, site has cracked it and i cant book for Japan in August :(
