What else would it be powered by? Goodwill?

Coal if Scomo had his way.

ScoMo's torches are powered on thoughts and prayers.

I have an addiction to buying flashlights. I have spent many thousands on them over the past few years. I just bought an acebeam X50 40k lumen torch last week,
Which nobody would ever need. And now i just got this. Dont end up like me.. this wuben is just a gateway torch. Be careful.

    • +1

Try pivoting to buying the other fl-shlight. You can use it everyday.

    • What’s a gateway torch

$31.57 Amazon, more expensive but better for replacement or refund

    • shows as $39.46 for me,

      • +1

There's a 20% voucher to be applied under the price ;)

    • +1

      Thanks, went with that one

      No battery though

      • ‎1 CR123A batteries required. (included)

  • Hope it supports type-c to type-c cable. Been bitten by device that doesn't have the right CC resistors for type-c power supply to turn on.

Looks like no unfortunately. Been looking for something like this for a while and I'll keep looking because of that.

      • I bought one a few months back and unlike in that video, it charges fine from USB-C to USB-C. I tested with a few cables, and different wall charges + power banks.

The torch has had various minor updates over time, so presumably has had the issue fixed since that video review .

        • The one I received yesterday does not charge from a Samsung usb c to usb c

          • @8azinga: Ahhh, very interesting!

I dug out a circa 2019 USB-C Samsung charger (but using a Baseus cable), and it charges my C3.

I also plugged the 2019 Samsung phone to the torch, and the phone can charge it too. Same with charging from my Pixel.

My other USB-C chargers are Google, and a variety of power banks. It also charges from my Dell laptop USB port no problems. One cable didn't make a great connection because space was tight, but worked if not moved too much.

I am quite curious about what causes it, because it is mentioned on some of the Amazon reviews too. Does your one work with the Samsung charger if using a different cable?

What about if charging it from the phone?

    • Late reply, but I have one (bought a few months back) and it charges fine from USB-C to USB-C. Tested with a few cables, and different wall charges + power banks with no issue.

The video review where it does not is from an earlier version of the torch, as it's had various minor updates over time.

Don't need. Bought. So that I can find my Xiaomi Mi Band 6 Fitness Tracker in the dark…

  • +1

    I don't need this. I don't need this. I don't need this. I don't need this.

    • +4

      You bought four?

      • LOL ;)

I already have a torch and I dont use it. Whenever I ahve needed it, the cell phone was always nearer to me and I used that instead.

        • Damn it - don't need it but want it. Same as you.

          • @Kendrite13: Think of what else you want more and spend on that instead.

  • What the heck is hekka? Looks like some dodgy drop shipping site

    • +1

They've had some pretty good deals the past few months!

    • Even I read about them yesterday. Apparantly they are like banggood and gearbest but still ramping up. Hence good deals. They dont have fast shipping right now, but many items are free shipped and many on OZB have bought from them.

    • +3

it's what the .cn factory workers will say in the morning when they open their email and see the flood of ozb orders: "Oh Hekka!"

  • kind of accidentally ordered a second one in a different browser …….oops used the code and purchased at16.99 USD or 23.06 AUD

  • Didn't realise I needed another torch, until now. Bought one ;)

  • Damn… clicked pay with Gpay thinking will give option to put coupon code. It went straight to order confirmation at 29.99 USD… emailed them, hope they'll fix it ,:((

    • Yes, annoying that some sites have payment as final step, where others it's second last with 'confirm' being last.

I nearly made your mistake but backed out to check.

  • +1

Brought this out camping on the weekend. Certainly works well. Lowest setting was almost enough if it weren't for the full moon.

  • Thanks, just bought for under $24. Paypal

  • Thanks OP. Got one, not sure why…. but looks cool

  • +1

Thanks. Bought one cause heck kid loves torches so here we go.

  • Got one thanks OP!

  • What waiting time is expected before delivery, 3-5 weeks?

  • Impulse control is not good at the moment, Thx Op!!! purchased. As long as we don't start seeing those pesky knife bargains again, I should be ok…

  • +1

    I keep getting

HEKKAWUBEN0414 discount code isn’t valid for the items in your cart

    • Only works for buying one?

      • +1

Yep just buying one. Tried logged in and checkout as guest. No luck.

        • +1

          Same here! :(

          I really wanted it too!

  • Code not working anymore?

  • Deal expired. That's 600 sold with 3000 clicks in 3 1/2 hours!

  • +1

Same issue for me. Googling I found CSEEK10, which brings it down to $19.99 USD ($27.04 AUD approx for me)

    • At that point may as well use Amazon prime for fast delivery for (~$4 bucks more?)

Lol I take that back. I see it as $39 on Amazon AU.

      • +1

20% off box to click underneath

    • +1

Will probably drop to this price again soon enough. Was the same USD price a week ago so you might as well just wait for the next time.

  • I'm getting "HEKKAWUBEN0414 discount code isn’t valid for the items in your cart"

    Has this deal expired?

    • Yeah it was marked as expired last night.

      • Bummer - thanks mate

  • +1

Has anyone else not received a single email confirmation or anything at all from them? The only thing i have is the paypal email.

    • +1

Likewise, no additional communication since placing the order.. but I wasn't expecting any updates for atleast another week based on previous purchases

    • I didnt order this as i got it previously but you should get an email from [email protected] for the order confirmation. Mine arrived before paypal emails. Did you check your junk mail?
If you made an account with Hekka, does the order show up there?

    • I got a order confirmed email from them and a link to view the order

  • I can't log into their site. I got an order confirmations saying they would email me when shipped. No email but when I click on the "View your order" it shows it as shipped with a tracking order that is "unfound" when I click the link, but most disturbing is says it's coming by Argentinean Post (www.correoargentino.com.ar). Feeling a little uncomfortable. Anyone actually received it from this deal (I know it's only been a couple of weeks so far)?

    • Stick your tracking number in https://17track.net/en and see what it says the carrier is.

    • Put the the number into track718.com (that's where the order page takes me) mine has departed Hong Kong and will be delivered by fastway

      • Thanks, the data has changed. Now shows Yanwen then AustPost

  • +3

540 more stock allocated for anyone who missed out.

    • AUD price has gone up by almost $1 though.

      • +1

Not much any of us can do about the exchange rate.

        • +2

I'm sure @jv can do something

        • Should probably update the price in title though

          • @8azinga: I'd be updating it several times a day every day. The US$ price stays consistent.

            • @Clear: Nah, no need. just if it comes back in stock after going out of stock like it did here as you can't get it for $22.99 any more.

  • Anyone who received their order, is it delivered by Australia Post as wanted to see whether can be sent to Parcel Locker. Thanks.

    • Found my answer going through all Hekka post. For those interested appears to be mainly Australia Post. Only saw one person mentioning Aramex.

Thanks Op. was waiting for Amazon, but appears the C3 is no longer on Amazon AU.

  • +3

Aramex (Slow way) have got it.
Should arrive at house in next street sometime in the next 4 to 6 weeks then.

    • Thanks. I got shipping number but can’t tell yet whether Aramex or australia post. If Aramex probably have to get them to keep at depot or drop it at collection point.

    • Looks like mine will be by Yanwen and then Australia Post. Not sure whether me putting a Parcel Locker address makes a difference.

  • +1

Also Aramex. Coming via Sydney seemingly.

    • Thanks.

  • +1

Believe it or not my last LED torch was from dealextreme heydays. So I think it's time to upgrade

    • Oh man, I forgot about DX, been so long.

  • +1

Bought one to see what the fuss is about

  • Torch arrived today. Wow, better than expected, extremely bright and solid construction.. would highly recommend

    • That's quick. I ordered a week earlier when it was cheaper and it only arrived today. This one had better shipping packaging and listed the sender as Buylogic with an Australian sender address which appears to be the Aramex address whereas the one i ordered in Feb came direct from China/Asia with much worse packaging.

    • Wow when did yours got posted? How long it took?

  • Mine arrived today. Very bright white light, good construction. Worth it.

  • My rates. Nab visa debit card…

    Exchange rate
    $25.18 AUD = $16.99 USD
    1 AUD = 0.6748 USD

  • Mine arrived today. Silly question but how do you change the brightness?

    • +2

Worked it out. Soft press the power switch.

      • Lol yes, when it first arrived I was like "???"

Then took the battery isolating bit of plastic out, and wondered if I had really paid money for this then.

Then soft pressed the button and wished I had bought another.

      • Thank Christ for that! Thought I'd bought a lemon! Sanity saved. Well… temporarily.

  • +1

Mine arrived - yeah! Bloody bright on high. Decent buy thanks op.

  • Received this today, but the charging port plastic cover comes off. Is it meant to be like that? Doesn’t look good in the rain

    • No, the charge port cover is mean to stay attached to the torch.

      • Odd my one easily came off when I opened it to charge

  • Picked one up when this deal went live. Freight was ridiculously slow (got a request from Hekka to provide a review, based on the shipment having left two weeks before), and it didn't arrive until yesterday.

With that said, oh my. Nearly blinded myself with the damn thing. My old Dolphin torches in the laundry will be going out in the next hard waste.

  • Received one within 10 days of ordering, really happy with the postage speed and also with the product. Might buy a few more as a gift for family

  • Not sure why I need this torch but I just ordered 1 and the code worked. I paid with paypal and was charged USD $16.99 and free shipping.

  • Thanks OP. Got one. Good for the camping kit.

  • Still haven't received mine, stuck in Melbourne…
