Good First post. Still making my way through Arceus with Pokemon shield waiting on the shelf. Still tempted to get one of these as well.

  • Haven't played Pokemon in a while, ware these the newest games that came out?

    • +1

Shield and sword are the most recent traditional pokemon games. Arceus is newer and i'm absolutely loving Arceus. Arceus is an open world RPG/MMO where you can constantly explore and catch pokemon etc with main missions and side missions.

edit: Sword and shield are before these remakes - my mistake.

      • Arceus is newer

What.. I didn't even know there was yet another game! Guess I have a bit of catching up to do (my last was probably Sun and Moon).

I don't know how it did with reviews but I'm enjoying Arceus more than any of the other Pokémon games I've ever played. Look up some game play and see if it's of any interest for you.

          • @Frayin: I can’t enjoy it as much for some reason, I need the somewhat linear rpg structure of the traditional games.

I do enjoy throwing my baby Pokémon at eachother and watching them evil eye eachother

@altiarlio: Yeah i can totally understand that.

It might have something to do with getting level 65 Alpha Pokemon before i even started the 3rd main mission. I explored for hours before i even did any missions haha.

              • @Frayin: Yeah that’s fair, I ran into the alpha rapidash and was in awe as it absolutely turned me into mince meat. The models and moves are so beautiful blown up on a good tv.

                • @altiarlio: Literally one of my first interactions in the wild as well haha. Got absolutely demolished.

    • Yes they are the most recent traditional versions but they are almost 1-1 remakes of gen 4

      • Have they got wild Pokemon battles, etc or neutered like Let's Go Pika?

        • It has wild Pokemon battles. Gameplay is the same as the original Diamond/Pearl titles.

  • Great deal, Nintendo first party barely go this low.

Guess it’s dropping early because third party dev the game

  • Now just gotta wait for a switch lite deal to play all these games I keep buying hahaha

  • just bought this yesterday for $68

    • Amazon? If not shipped yet just cancel it and order again.

      • nah picked it up at big w to play with my nephew

  • Sword / shield or this?

    • +1

Sword/Shield for days. Not as good as some of the DS/3DS era games but still a solid play. BDSP is garbage in comparison - especially if you have played Pokemon Platinum.

      • +3

I much prefer the old style games so I'd pick this over sword / shield.

Even better is playing platinum on DS/3DS.

    • +1

havent played sword or shield but this was enjoyable, it's just like let's go pikachu/eevee (red/blue) with different pokemon and different scenery

  • Pokemon Arceus also 20% (64$) off atm on Amazon

  • Did we ever get a switch remake of Gold/Silver?

    • Nope. I wouldn't be expecting them to do much more than minimum effort like this game either.

    • Nope. There was already a remake, it's on the Nintendo DS.

      • Well yeah, but there was already a remake of gen 1, it's on the GBA
