The adobe scanner works best these days, also free.

Yes I use the same as well. Does anyone knows about any drawbacks?

      • Personally haven't had any trouble with it, don't really see a reason to swap over.

Free is free though, will give this a try :)

I'm still using CamScanner. Is the Adobe one better?

      • I was using CamScanner before but I recall it had ads and only a subscription option no one off purchase

Camscanner has servers in China. Sure no data is safe in the cloud but still a little wary of backing up sensitive content there.

google knows color of your undies and who you date, and you're not worried. come on, let go that bogan mindset.

  • Awesome! Thank you.

Tried to install, it says three days free trial and then 63.99$ yearly

My bad. Thought it read scan but actually it's scam.

I find the one built into the google drive app pretty good. Will give this a crack!

Thanks for the tip, didn't know the Drive app could do that. I had been using the free Microsoft Lens app.

Most of the apps from this developer have no reviews, not many downloads and are on "sale"

Why would you trust this app with there are reputable ones available?

Always wary of these new scanner apps. Some have malware.

Best scanner app for me is Clearscanner, I think now called Clear Scan - small one off fee, no scam ware, ads, or annual subscription. Bought it years ago, and use it just about every day for receipts, documents, forms etc.

One of the best apps I've bought and I highly recommend Clear Scan. Available in the Play store.

  • Is it good? Great?

    • It's awesome. Awesome to the max.

      • Would it still be great for scannings photos? I have many hundreds and looking for a phone scanner which hopefully will be quicker than my Canon scanner. Canon takes max 600dpi but not sure of phone.

  • I use the one in Dropbox

could have sworn my samsung comes up with a doc scanner which pops up when taking photos of a doc

    • This!

I moved from a note 20 ultra to pixel 6 Pro and can't believe there is no scan function like the Samsung!!

There is - it's built into the Google Drive app. Works well and integrates with the storage.

      • Use the google drive scanner.

        • This sucks compared to the built in scanner in the Samsung camera app. I felt the built in scanner has much more flexibility and I prefer to save the files direct on my phone most of the time (all of the time)

I don't use the one which uploads a copy of my identity documents to unauthorised 3rd parties.

Agreed, don't use scanner apps that require internet access. Nothing in this app's listed functions requires internet access (note: sharing with others doesn't need internet permission, it's done by calling Bluetooth functions or by calling other apps like email).

Genius Scan works good for me

  • So many apps nowadays put a paywall subscription just to scan a doc. Hopefully this one's a good one

  • FYI. Onedrive has a scanner function too but you can only scan upto 10 pages.

  • I'm wary of these. They turn out to be scam apps
