Has to be 30gb data plan or above.

So my deal was

    Order on the 23/04 no updates so far, how are people ordering on the 24/04 and still managed to receive them before earlier orders.

  • Order placed 27/4 for 64gb, have a few chats up to yesterday that pending delivery. Sap sent to warehouse for delivery. This morning checked the order number ending with a now cancelled.

    Order placed 24th and received A ref immediately.
    Had a chat today.
    They said it's with the warehouse and still on backorder.

      I got replies like these and also OOS. I don't believe them anymore.

    • Don't believe them they are liars - they can't even see what is in stock. Just fobbing us off now.

      Optus and Telstra are some of the worse run companies I've ever had to deal with. If you ran a small business like this you would go bust in a week.

  • I have communicated with optus CS team on web chat just now and they were it's all sold out and unable to supply.

    I have ordered 24 April and vigorously chasing daily and had so many time I was assure I will get it but with delay.

    have anyone communicate with CS team today and state it's cancelled? my case and keyboard are coming tomorrow.

    • They’ve jacked the tablet back up on the site astronomically as well but it’s still out of stock

      • after explanation, CS is going to check further and…. CS was simply saying this it's out of stock on their website……… I don't know what's going on

        • With 21k clicks they probably did shift the literal stock they had for the promotion so you are best to sit tight and see if you get lucky

            I have chat with Optus CS team specialist today, it's out of stock but my order is submitted and will be fulfilled once item is coming in.
            My case and keyboard have arrived, I will wait for the Tab A8

                @Sambuca: ordered 64GB, I went to Optus store in eastern suburb of Melbourne, lady have exact idea what's happening and I couldn't agree more with her.
                overly popular with deal, Galaxy Tab A8 were oversold and Optus placed order with Samsung but currently waiting for the Tab A8 and Optus will send SMS with tracking detail once they ship out the Tab.

      Why did you order the case and keyboard before even getting shipping confirmation?

      • I did have SAP order number and also few of CS team advise that no need to worry that your order is safe,

        I had another message that no need to worry of my order is secure but have been delayed this evening.

        I will try to be patient.

    went into an optus store just to see if they had stock to get another and was prepared to pay $25/month for 12 months. (am impressed with tablet once spend the time on setup, screen colours etc)

    guy checked out back, and on system. told me the a8 is listed as clearance item, which sure as hell explains a lot.

  • I want to buy a case but then realise that'd be a significant % of the actual cost of the device and then proceed to cheap out. Talk about first world problems.

      Bought one of these for $15 so not much. The quality is great and seems solid should provide sufficient protection if dropped or something. Well worth getting one for mine.

        I think I remember seeing one of these cases on Amazon and posted on this thread at the time, listed for $10.99, I didn't buy it until I had my tablet delivery from Optus on Friday.

      the tablet is quite thin and a bit slippery to hold for me

      also there isn't much of a bezel around the display, so if your palms are resting around the edges or even if tablet is resting on your stomach it tends to interfere with the touch screen

    CashRewards rejected my cash back for the A8 128gb tablet and 12 months data contract.
    No such $30 or $55 that others posting here seemed to have got so far.

      • Ironically, I was an Optus mobile customer about 5 years ago.
        This reflect on the billing date, as confirmed by online chat, that the billing date is whatever my old service with Optus was, the 27th of the month.
        It keep saying on the app, 17 days to go.
        I activated bthe Sim and tablet in Friday the 6th.
        They used my old billing cycle for this one

    So was sent this via Optus chat - "I apologize on behalf of Optus if the stock doesn't reflect than what we really have. Might I suggest a device that is close to what you wanted?"

    So Bait n Switch then, next available tablet is ~$38 a month over 3 years, hardly close to what I wanted.

    If any of you that are still waiting for Galaxy Tab A8 64GB after order on 24- April ,

    We need to be careful of their bait if really want to wait for getting this.

    When I inquire on WebChat few days ago,

    1. Optus CS indicated that this is out of stock and asked me if she can cancel the order.
    2. In next follow up next day, CS suggest to go with Galaxy Tab A7 with same price in 36 months - A7 they offer is 32 GB and 36 months instead of 12 months- Not a deal
    3. I had case officer and called me yesterday, suggest to go optus store and get the Tab and I was showing little interest and then he asked me if he can cancel the order -
      If cancel the order, can't order again and most of optus stores have no stock

    I know in the end, I highly likely will get the Tab as 8 out of 10 CS team member in Optus indicated that it's on order but no confirmed date of shipping.

    anyone who are still waiting, reply me below as I'm curious how many of us are waiting for this.

      Still waiting. Ordered 64gb on 23/4 and try reorder same time as Lisa 4/5 for 128gb in hope to get it sooner.

      Had CS asking me to cancel my orders which I refused. I also had a few said it’s on backorder with no eta.

      I’m to a point if I get it it’s a bonus, if not then I’ve missed out. But I’m still checking this ozb for updates though.

      Ordered a 64gb on the 24th and still waiting. Not fussed tbh, if it shows, great. If it gets cancelled, so be it. I just check this thread once a day to see how everyone has fared.
