What mum doesn't want to look like an overstuffed pizza?

      • +8

One size fits all 👍 6XL

        • +1

Oh well then, we're all overstuffed - one size fits all.

    • +1

Sizing tips? Last time I gave your mum an Oodie it was too small.

      • +15

I don't think it was the Oodie she was referring was too small…

    • +3

      This is the way.

    • Isn’t that for the rain?

      • Women | Underwear & Sleepwear | Sleepwear | Dressing Gowns

    • Not the same not even close, we have real oodies the cousins have the linked Target ones, ours are much thicker, longer length arms, longer length body, much better quality than target ones.

  • +23

    That's a lot of money to look……stoopid.

apart from being made from different entirely fabric, yes the same. Like my k-mart polyester suit is the same as a pure wool 120 count suit*.

(*yes, the oodle fabric isnt anything like a 120 count wool suit. Hyperbole…)

      • +4

apart from being made from different entirely fabric

        Aren’t they all polyester?

        • +2

Yep! Pretty much all the same but the weight in GSM may vary. The original is quite thick but for the price difference isn't worth it imo.

        • The oodle is fleece lined and flannel exterior. The cotton on version is just thin polyester fabric.

The oodle fleece is polyester but just because something is made with the same base material doesn’t mean it’s the same thing.

    • -1

      yuck

    • Got the cortonon one and love it. I don't have the oodie to compare though. Definitely warm, not thin at all.

  • +6

Nice and all but who needs 6 adult oodies… I really wish they would allow you to mix and match the sizes you want then gave a discount on the amounts. We are looking at 3 kids ones but the only way to do it atm is a 2 pack and then a single.
And yes there are knockoffs but we have 2 adult oodies already and love them.

    • +1

They do have different bundle options on sale

      • Yeah they do, they have 2 kids, 1 adult and 1 kid, 2 adults 2 kids. None of which really suit. Which is why ti would be better if they just added a discount to whatever you have in your cart instead so you can create your own bundle.

    • Try coupon GETOODIE it's $25 off a purchase.

      • +6

They are a bit sneaky as they are always $25-$30 off. For example with our last purchase they gave me a $25 off coupon. Great I thought! Unfortunately everything was already basically $30 off and the coupon couldnt be used on top of that so it was simply a useless coupon..

    • +1

Shopback has a discount with code of AFFTO3FOR2 which is Get $109 off once ordering 3 Oodies

Hope this helps you. I used it last year and was definitely the best way to buy.

      Also 4.2% cashback

    • +1

Just get adult ones if the kids are over the age of 6, kids grow quickly. We have all adult ones including my 4 children

      • My near 8yr old wears my adult one and it drags along the ground :) Short parents, short kids.

  • +9

Why do everyone who wear these seem like bad people?

    • +5

      Because microplastic pollution =D

    • +2

because if you are a meth dealer customers come to you, why bother wearing anything more complex while you sit on the sofa and wait for the next customer …..

  • +6

My family zoo membership is cheaper.

    • +3

how much? Can I feed the attractions?

      Asking for a friend…

      • You used to be able to feed the farm animals at Taronga but they stopped it due to covid.

        • Wasn't aware Taronga zoo had human exhibits. Duly noted.

  • +1

Interesting we haven’t seen many auselect spam deals for these kind of wearable blankets lately…

  • +5

    $109 for 2 (selected styles)

  • +11

FYI this is really their standard pricing, they always have deals and they always work out to be this pricing each.

  • +1

Are Oodie's worth the premium price? Or are knockoffs about the same quality?

    • +4

Oodies have designs instead of just plain colour but that’s about all the difference I see

    • +9

Nope, not worth it at all. (We've got one OG and three knockoffs)

    • -1

The novelty wears off after a while… most of my friends all have one and we've all kind of abandoned it. It takes a while to put in and can be restricting, and nothing beats a heater if the weather is truly cold anyway.

      • +4

We used ours all the way through last winter (Western Victoria) and already have them in use this year. They're easier to get on than a regular hoodie, really warm, and far cheaper to run than a heater.

        • How do you 'run' an Oodie?

      • +5

we got them last year- was bullied by my kids to do so. anyway, we all wore one through winter- they were incredibly warm and we basically didn't bother using heaters/etc- saved a fortune on electricity

        • +1

but they do look stupid, no doubt!

        • Might've been cheaper to just run the heater, than to buy these for the family

    • +2

The oodie seller buys all of their oodies from AliExpress and flips them here. You can buy it off there for about $20 per hoodie.

  • +3

theyre pretty warm my only complaint is the sewing work could be improved, i bought mine in summer because it was cheaper and only started wearing it in winter, after a few wears the lining around the neck started coming apart and I couldn't return it because it was outside of the return period

  • +5

I got an ALDI one last year when they had them and when comparing to a genuine Oodie the fabric is pretty much identical. Can't remember the exact price but I wouldn't have paid more than $30 to look that stupid.

  • +1

how to wash these? can we put these in washing machine?

    • Washing machine, just takes a little while to dry

  • -3

This is only ever useful in Canberra. You don't really need it anywhere else, cause it doesn't get that cold anywhere else

    • What about Tasmania?

      • Coldest place in Australia!

Having said that, I think these would be better suited to Queanbeyan that Canberra or Tassie..

        • -2

The ACT, perfect for the Muppets at the parliament .

        • That's right next to Canberra. What's the difference of temp?

    • +3

Wore my dupe for most of winter in Melbourne. Already wearing it this season too.

  • +1

These are $39 each at Costco

    • Not the same brand but the original shark tank version "The Comfy".

  • +2

They use really attractive people in the model photos. If they used an ugly person then they would just look like a muppet wearing that thing.

    • +1

yep and they remove the empty pizza boxes and coke cans from the background …..

what a great look if you are into instragam and like to post things ….

  • These OK for teams meetings?

    • hell naaaah

    • I have done this before!

    • +1

I wear mine 😂 haven't been told to stop wearing it yet.

    • +1

If you turn your camera on you're a mook to begin with.

      • +2

More like Granny Smith and Jazz apples.
        Or Valencia and Navel oranges.

        • Valencia / Navel for Cara Cara oranges

Really wish they'd make something sustainable. Hardly need more polyester trash.

I bought one for the wife and another for myself this last camping trip. Kids are happy with theirs. I hesitated this long. Ended up getting the Seinfeld Oodie and Friends Oodie.
I was surprised how thick these things are. I cannot wear them indoors. Outdoors camping was fine during the cool nights as long as it was dry and not raining.

  • +2

    Overpriced

  • +2

    $109 inflated rrp

  • $20 oodie knockoff from ebay is warmer and more comfy than these oddies imo

    • Link pls?

      • +1

just search 'blanket hoodie' on ebay

  • +3

When you go to the website, there is an additional discount offered by a coupon for $295.
Careful clicking on the link, just got smashed with The Oodie adverts on youtube for a few hours, over and over, no matter how many times I said not appropriate. TBH this sort of aggressive marketing turns me off any product entirely.

  • +5

I’m gonna tell my family that the heater is not going on this winter cos I’ve paid $359 for these so I can save $400 on my electricity bill 😀

    • True ozbargin spirit

  • So now they're moderately overpriced instead of insanely overpriced?
