[Afterpay] SilverStone Fara R1 V2 ATX Mid Tower Case - White $37 + Delivery ($0 C&C) @ Umart

610
AFTER20

Really low price on the Version 2 of the popular Fara R1 cases. The main difference with the V2 is that the case is slightly larger and supports GPUs up to 340mm instead of 322mm. A single 120mm rear exhaust fan is included.

This has a mesh front for good airflow with 2 USB 3.0 ports, 1 USB 2.0 port and a 3.5mm audio combo jack on the front. If you're looking to do a white build this is a good choice and if you don't mind having a 10th/11th Gen build, then this NZXT NZ motherboard is perfect to go with it.

For the money.. it looks pretty damn decent

It's no Lian Li in terms of quality but definitely up there in appearance. I'm super tempted to grab it with the NZXT mobo for an 11th gen build. Would just need a good white GPU.

Agreed. Ive built 2 systems in them recently.

Tray is flimsy, fan mounts are paper thin, rear panel cable space is tight, standoff holes have paint in them.

But when its finished? Its sturdy externally, and looks good.
I wouldnt send a newbie to it; because the paint in the standoff locations means if you're new, nothing 'goes in easily'; but its totally fine once completed.

  • Is anyone aware of a USB Type-C motherboard cable that can be slotted into the same spot that has the older USB2 hole in the front panel? Seems like an obvious thing for people to want to do but havent found anything designed to slot into the USB-A rectangle space

  • Dats cheap

I’ve used one of these before, and while it’s cheaper feeling than some other premium cases I’ve built in, it’s over all excellent for the price.

It’s also got great support for cooling options and plenty of air flow.

I'd recommend the h1m pro instead if you're ok with mATX. comes with 3 argb fans. decent quality too. Only $10 more. these Silverstone cases sell for more in America for some reason. rare w for Australia

  • Damn i just bought a case for over $100…. This would have been perfect

$56 for delivery. I'll pass on this deal.

  • This is a beautiful case for a nice quiet build.

  • This is going to be such an old man comment but it feels like 5.25 external drive bays are a rarity these days - is that right? So no one uses optical media anymore?

    • Correct. I have a bunch of DVD 5.25 devices for sale and I cannot sell them for $2.

    • They're rare, but not impossible. Look into CoolerMaster.

Its just not 'gamer cool' anymore.

Which I find odd, because things like card readers, and temp gauges, and fan controllers which were 'new and edgy' in the early 2000's would be very RGB-gamer appropriate now. I always predicted them getting fewer; but not even having 1 slot on most in the industry surprised me.

The general public still has no better long term media than M-Disks, and BluRay is still the leading option when it comes to quality video formats.

I use mine weekly, I have new CD's arriving from Japan almost daily :) gotta FLAC 'em all!

    • I specifically bought a cougar case to fit in my lightscribe optical drive from 2010 🤣

    • I'm using a J22TG so I could fit an optical drive

  • I have one and is junk quality hence the price is right if the delivery was for free
