I thought The BIG W was WookieMonster, but apparently it’s a chain of department stores. I need to get out more

    • +1

      Yes dad

  • Does Big W have the denomination '$5-1000' for Ultimate Home?
The '$100' denomination is kind of ok.
The '$50' is a little pain

    • I’ve never seen BIG W stock any variable load Ultimate gift cards. I’ve only ever seen (some) Woolworths stores stocking the variable load Ultimate Teens gift card.

  • BTW everyday reward point 2000 point and quantas 1000 point, which one is value more? should I keep it in everyday reward point or transfer to quantas point?
I am planning to buy 1500 apple gift card and use it for Ipad pro in this week

  • +1

From my knowledge Big w doesn't have variable Perfect Eftpos cards, It only stocks $50/$100 Eftpos Cards (may be they started $200 Eftpos card recently? )

    • I have definitely seen the variable load Perfect EFTPOS gift card at BIG W, but that was around Jan 2022 and it was the older version (the one with the card number starting with 502125). I have never seen the new Perfect EFTPOS gift card (the one with the card number starting with 638947) stocked at BIG W, so my guess is that BIG W discontinued it.

I first spotted the $200 Perfect EFTPOS gift card at BIG W around Dec 2021, and I also saw it at a BIG W store yesterday. However, I’ve noticed it going in and out of stock at different BIG W stores in the meantime, so YMMV.

      • +1

yea I think I might have seen them like last year sometime, but a decent deal not bad if can combine with some sort of CC/DC cashback

  • +1

Haven't had eBay deal for a while

  • Is $200 highest denomination for apple gift card?

    • The highest denomination sold at BIG W is the one where to can load any amount between $20 and $500.

  • So for $2000 I can get 4x$500 gift card ? And can get 20x points ?

    • +3

I'd say yes, because the $20-$500 gift card is actually pictured in the catalogue. The checkout should also tell you when you go to the payment screen whether you'll earn any Everyday Rewards points in that transaction.

Whether BIG W staff will sell you $2000 in gift cards in one transaction is another question. (Some staff will get concerned you're falling for a scam or something along those lines.)

      • Ok I will try today. Thank you

        • +7

The deal starts on Thursday, so I suggest you wait.

        • +2

          Best try in two days.

      • Exactly. This is the hardest, most painful part of these promos. Trying to get them to actually SELL you the cards. Esp if you're purchasing a "large" amount ($+1K) for buying Apple hardware. Like I have in the past. What a PITA. Made to feel like some kind of criminal for spending my own money.

        Didn't stop me though.
Just went to different stores and purchased the total amount I needed.
        Very inconvenient though.

        • Are you able to confirm that going to multiple stores allowed you to get the bonus points on more than 10 cards?

  • Can I use Perfect EFTPOS giftcard to buy Woolworths giftcard?

    • It depends on which Perfect EFTPOS gift card you end up with.

      • If you end up with the older Perfect EFTPOS gift cards with card numbers starting with 502125, probably not. It does not work at Woolworths, so my assumption is that it does not work at BIG W too. The older Perfect EFTPOS gift cards are not the ones pictured in the catalogue, but are the ones still sold at Officeworks.

      • If you end up with the newer Perfect EFTPOS gift cards with card numbers starting with 638947, it should be fine. It works at Woolworths, so my assumption is that it works at BIG W too. The newer Perfect EFTPOS gift cards are the ones pictured in the catalogue.

      • Thanks.

  • It's like deciphering a code :s

  • Can we use a Big W e-gift card to purchase the Apple cards? I can't see it on their T&C. Thanks.

    • +1

      No.

It is against the terms and conditions of a BIG W eGift Card to use it to purchase any gift cards at BIG W.

If you try to do this at a BIG W checkout, you'll get an error message (and you'll likely get a polite reminder from staff that you cannot use gift cards to purchase gift cards).

  • I’m probably thinking I should get the TCN ones and use at JBHIFI when they run a $100 off on iPhones that I wish to buy.

  • -1

Can Big W gift cards be used to purchase these? Woolies don’t allow them to, so presumably Big W also has the same system.

  • It has been a while since Coles last had the discounted EFTPOS gift cards promotion which were of slightly better value. Who knows they may not do one again.

  • The 20x points promotion also applies to The Restaurant Choice, Goodfood, asos and webjet gift cards.

  • +1

Wonder if I could buy them with recent special gc?

  • What if I buy a 2$100 Ultimate Thanks gift card, will I get 2 (1000 points)20K points?. Please clarify :)

    • +1

If you purchase 2x $100 Ultimate Thanks gift cards during this deal, you’ll earn 4,000 Everyday Rewards points.

      • +1

Yeah, I am clear. Which equates to $20 in the Rewards app.

  • +1

Just purchased 2*200 Perfect EFTPOS, no points

    • +1

Same here. I purchased 1x $200 Perfect EFTPOS gift card and received zero points.

I was also charged $8 for the gift card activation fee, even though the packaging states that the gift card activation fee is $7.95. (What a rip-off lol.)

      • +1

        my activiation fee is $7.95

  • Got my rewards for Apple and TCN.

  • No sign of it on the web site anymore. Nothing in store either.

All good. At checkout it said $10 was added and same as receipt.

    Apple card purchase.

  • Didn't see the TCN Her and Baby cards on the cataloge, but they would appear in the search results. Could any one confirm if the deal actually apply to those?

    • It’s on the last page of the catalogue (page 40).

Also, someone above received points on the TCN gift cards pictured in the catalogue.

      • +2

Thank you, managed to get a couple and the points got instantly credited to my rewards account at checkout.

  • +1

I purchased 4x $200 Perfect EFTPOS gift cards (newer style with card numbers starting with 638947), was charged $7.95 activation fee each but oddly received "4x" ER points (832 ER points per card) immediately. I wonder if this will be updated in the next few days. I'll post any updates here.

    • +1

I've just realised this might be from a Big W 5x ER points booster I activated (for the lols because gift cards are stated to be excluded from the booster), the 4x being a result of 5x (from the booster) minus 1x (regular) ER points.

      • You found the bug. 5x pts booster apply to no base pts item.

        • +1

I followed up with ER ([email protected]) via email because I hadn't received the bonus points of this deal and they credited me straight away. Although amusingly they subtracted the '4x' points that I 'already received' from what they added but added 2000 points for the inconvenience. Effectively ended up with '12.5x' bonus points in the end.

          • @aaron3: Thanks for the info. I think the bug is still there for those in the knowing to take advantage in some cases. Obviously, the big boss wont care.

  • Has anyone confirmed this time round that going to multiple stores allows you to get the bonus points on more than 10 cards?

    • I went to the same store the next day, Rewards wouldn't come up on the same denomination, when I changed the card value, I was able to do another 10.

      • Were you able to see the bonus rewards points on the screen before completing the purchase or did you buy one card as a tester and find that the points didn't credit so you tried a different denomination?

        • It came up on the screen before purchase. When I went back to buy more of the same value it didn't show up, so changed to a lower value and it appeared before purchase on the screen.

  • What’s the max gift cards you can use with JB online?

    • +4

It depends on which gift card you're looking at.

      Ultimate (Visa) gift cards

You can only directly redeem one Ultimate gift card on the JB Hi-Fi website, because:

      • If you want to enter the Ultimate gift card's details directly into the checkout, you can only use one card per transaction.

      • If you want to use the Ultimate gift card that is in your Apple Pay wallet, you can only use one card per transaction.

However, if you are able to use an Ultimate gift card to purchase a JB Hi-Fi gift card from JB Hi-Fi (either in-store or online), you can then use as many JB Hi-Fi gift cards as you want online in each transaction. You're not officially allowed to do it, but you'll probably find that you can do this anyway

      • In-store: Some staff have been trained to stop anyone using Ultimate or TCN gift cards to purchase a JB Hi-Fi gift card at JB Hi-Fi, and this was due to JB Hi-Fi's head office directing stores do stop this in response to a wildly popular 15% off TCN gift card deal at Coles during Black Friday 2020. However, some staff are not aware of this (or don't care). Additionally, there is nothing in JB Hi-Fi's sales system to stop you from redeeming an Ultimate or TCN gift card when purchasing any gift cards at JB Hi-Fi.

If you end up going down this route, tell the staff member you'd like to pay by card. If you say gift card, the staff member will think you are wanting to redeem a JB Hi-Fi gift card (which is not the case) and will choose the wrong payment option.

      • Online: You should be able to purchase JB Hi-Fi gift cards through the JB Hi-Fi website if you add the Ultimate gift card's details into the checkout or add the Ultimate gift card to your Apple Pay wallet and then opt for Apple Pay at checkout. However, if JB Hi-Fi's website will actually let you do this (and I cannot give you an iron-clad guarantee this will always be the case), you'll probably only be able to purchase 1 or 2 JB Hi-Fi gift cards each day. I think this has something to do with JB Hi-Fi's fraud prevention system kicking in and stopping any more gift card sales on a given day after you purchase 1 or 2 JB Hi-Fi gift cards in the same day.

      TCN gift cards

You cannot directly use any TCN gift card on the JB Hi-Fi website, as TCN gift cards sold in stores operate on the EFTPOS network, and EFTPOS is not available for online transactions.

However, you can go to the TCN website and exchange a TCN gift card for a (digital) JB Hi-Fi gift card, and you can then use as many JB Hi-Fi gift cards as you want online in each transaction. Alternatively, you can go into a JB Hi-Fi store and use a TCN gift card to purchase a JB Hi-Fi gift card, but the previous caveats in the section above apply. Either way, you can then use as many JB Hi-Fi gift cards as you want online in each transaction.

      • +2

Thanks for the detailed write up. Might get 5x$100 Her cards and swap them for JB and get the Apple Watch online.

  • anyone tries the variable perfect gift cards and gets poiints?

    • No, because I cannot find a BIG W store in my area that currently stocks them (and I've visited four within the last week). I haven't seen them at BIG W for months…

  • Can confirm points on 20-500 apple variables. However there was an activation problem and Big W received payment, activated but loaded nothing on the cards. I knew of another person who this happened to within a day. No issues on the fixed amount Apple Cards. What we learned was if buying variable load Apple Cards check on the separate individual activation receipts - it should show:

    Total $(gift card amount)
    Approved 00

If “approved” has a star before the numbers then you have a problem (*00). Worth checking before leaving the store as mine resulted in a four day run around with a third trip to the store to have it fixed up. That really goofs you when trying to buy vanishing stock in a certain apple stores to avoid the long waits on some products. So best check those activation receipts! Same probably goes for woolies/coles when they’re on.

  • Does anyone know the delay on TCN swap to JB Hifi online gift voucher? I redeemed 2, got the first one instantly and the 2nd one I am still waiting on…kinda need it ASAP for the JB Perk deal
