Dan, you must calculate the timing very well. 3rd time order done,

    • It's all up to the coffee gods hanxtom :)

Thanks so much for your order!!

  • +1

Perfect timing - just popped onto OzBargain to see what coffee specials were around as I need to order tonight! Ordered!

    • Awesome macfudge!! Thanks so much.

@AIRJO CoffeeRoasters, I'd love to try some of your other styles of coffee but don't want to commit to a 500 gram pack each time.

Is there any chance you may do up a smaller quantity sample pack in the future that could be available for purchase for people like me?

    Thanks

    • Hey there and thanks for asking. No plans for sample packs but please do reach out to me directly and I can hopefully guide you to a favourite 👍🏼

      I hope that helps.

      Thanks
      Dan

@AIRJO CoffeeRoasters: All good, thanks again for the reply.

@shutuptakemymoney101: @shutuptakemymoney101 - I regularly pay $18 for 250g full beans ( I will hand my OZB card in now ) so paying the same for 500g is a bargain. Just because its 500g, not 250g is something not to be put off IMHO.

I have bought beans a few times from Airjo and can recommend.

              • +3

@danielpenna: Thanks for the reply danielpenna, what exactly do you think is stopping Airjo from offering a sample pack?

Would bundling a sample pack of a few different styles up to the weight of 500/1000 grams for around the same price of a single style be an unreasonable request?

Obviously up to AirJo as it's their business, I'm just posing the question.

                • +1

                  @shutuptakemymoney101: I also wonder

                  This

Seriously, just do what others do on here and read through comments regarding their favourites and take a chance. The coffee is cheap, and with FREE EXPRESS delivery it is also super fresh.

                  • -7

@nepalesesquirrel: I want to try them all, I'm not willing to take a punt on all of them at a minimum of 500 grams per bag.

Do you think I'm being unreasonable requesting a 500/1000gram sample bundle to be done up for people who want to sample other styles?

                    • +8

                      @shutuptakemymoney101:

Do you think I'm being unreasonable

                      Basically, yes.

I think the idea of a sample pack is good but saying you won't buy their coffee just because they don't have them available to you is a bit precious IMHO.

                      • -1

@nepalesesquirrel: Other roasters can offer a sample pack, is there a reason why you think AirJo shouldn't or aren't somehow able to do the same?

Please show me where I said I wouldn't buy their coffee?

I'm just not willing to take a punt on styles other than the one I know I like, if I knew of other styles I like too I'd probably order one of each.

                        • @shutuptakemymoney101: I don't think

AirJo shouldn't or aren't somehow able to do the same

It just seems that you are being a bit precious over it, and surely while your suggestion is valid it's up to the business to decide if they want to do it, not you.
$18.93 for 500g of beans delivered to your door for free within a day or 2 of roasting is pretty solid.

                          • @nepalesesquirrel: I'm not kicking and screaming, I've already said it's up to them as it's their business.

I'm just interested in why they can't?

Without telling me 'I'm being precious' can you put a business case forward as it why it's a bad thing to offer a sample pack?

                        • +5

@shutuptakemymoney101: What am I missing here? They offer refunds if you're not satisfied.

                          So basically:

                          • cheap
                          • refund option if not satisfied
                          • lots of positive reviews
                          • great customer service

You're sounding like a karen pushing your "sample pack" business model. You should probably just own up to your ozbargain handle and shut up and give your money (and ask for a refund if it doesn't match aldi quality).

Or go to Costco- lots of free samples there coz they make money with products other than coffee.

                          • -1

@CTFlashZ: Do they offer free return postage?

That's probably a pretty important question for anyone who wants to return a bag of coffee they don't like so I would really appreciate a reply for clarification purposes.

Personally I feel I would be taking advantage of them if I returned most of what I purchased as they couldn't resell it, a sample pack of available roasts would be a better idea and something I wouldn't have to return even if I didn't like it.

Thanks for calling me a 'Karen' etc because you disagree with me and can't post a valid argument in response so go to name calling instead this says more about you than it does me.

I'm not into Costco/Aldi etc for my coffee, I buy from local roasters generally if I'm not roasting my own green beans.

                      • @nepalesesquirrel: Maybe you can show me where I said I wouldn't buy their coffee or change your post accordingly?

I'm still buying the coffee I know I like, I'm just not willing to try other styles.

                • +3

@shutuptakemymoney101: Packaging material and labour productivities would decrease resulting in an increase in costs.

A sample pack would be more expensive for the same weight - how many people would take it up of it was $10 more expensive than buying 9ke single 500g? Not many. Sounds very bespoke particularly bwhen considering the large volume they are outputting just for OzB at this point

Airjo is my go to now - and I was a loyal Campos connoisseur

                    • @shutuptakemymoney101: I might initially buy sample bag to try say 4x250 gm beans. Once I know which one is my favourite, then next time I will only buy what I need from that beans, ie will not buy more..

                      • +2

@huntabargain: Had you of bought the one style and didn't like it you probably wouldn't have bought anything at all in the future and moved on to try a new roaster.

Having you try a 'few' different styles increases the chances of you find the one you like and becoming a repeat customer.

Makes sense to me anyway, perhaps I'm wrong?

                  • @Suspect420: @Suspect420 - Still a big fan of Campos Beans still here, what have you found similar in AirJo's beans out of interest ?

            • @shutuptakemymoney101: and there you should give it a rest! You ain't going to win any fans or support carrying on!

              • -6

@id: Because of fanboi's like you. No valid responses to my questions just fanboi shutdowns.

Pretty pathetic stuff guys, for a supposed discussion forum.

Instead of just BS replies, how about posting something of substance if you disagree with me?

                I'm waiting……………….

                • @shutuptakemymoney101: Still carrying on! your defense fanboi. keep on carrying on just to highlight what a tool! one whining loss client is a gain!.. oh wait u aint a customer!

                  • +1

@id: How about replying to me instead of posting your rubbish? Reply to my posts if you can, instead of being childish and negging me and running away?

Why do you feel it necessary to resort to bad names? Is your argument that weak or are you that weak?

This is a discussion forum isn't it? Can't you be grown up enough to actually debate someone without resorting to childish put downs?

                    • @shutuptakemymoney101: no need. Dan has validly responded to your question. just for your twinkle Sumatra wasn't my style. Enterprise I liked. subjective. Just to answer your qn.. i pref to put rubbish in the bin.

                      • -2

@id: Dan isn't the owner of the forum, he doesn't dictate discussion of product here either unless I'm mistaken?

Unless you are on the AirJo payroll discussion for or against Airjo in any form on OzBargain is still encouraged isn't it?

So why wouldn't a sample pack be a good thing for you to try other styles in a smaller quantity?

                        • @shutuptakemymoney101: forum…. Sorry I couldn't help either!
Move on. there are plenty of Roasters that offer sample packs! As something you ain't getting. Its the business owners decision!.. thatll be it from me to u.. cherio

@shutuptakemymoney101: Can you please get my local restaurants to offer sample packs as I don't want to invest $30 on a main course that I have not tried before?

@morgan01: lol, like the tasting paddles you get at all the micro-breweries?

What regular bean is your decaf bean most similar to? Any plans for a sale on that sometime soon?

    • +2

      Hey Snoopysoop.
Decaf sale will likely be in a week or 2. It’s a flavour all on its own being from Peru.
We roast it somewhere between medium and dark and the feedback is sensational.

      I hope that helps.

      Cheers
      Dan

      • Fantastic - I'll hold out til then rather than ordering my usual. Thanks for the info!

I'm not going to lie, the branding of the packaging has always put me off buying these beans. Yes, I know that's judgemental.

But, I will give them a try soon given all the positive feedback on here.

    • +1

Hey oldmate. Thanks for being honest. Super keen to hear your thoughts on the branding/packaging if you don’t mind shooting me an email [email protected]

And anyone else for that matter :)

      Cheers
      Dan

Never bought from Airjo but felt the same way.

Changed my mind about trying them out after reading these comments though, feedback is amazing. Keen to get some from the decaf sale soon!

  • Just bought 500gr of Lightning blend from previous 30% sale. I am looking for something strong in caffeine and bitter. What do you recommend?

    • Hey there yamahamoto. Just confirm you previously bought Twilight blend?

If you are after a stronger taste try our Stargazer or Thunderchild Blends. Darker roasts and stronger flavours may well be what you are after.

      I hope that helps.
      Cheers
      Dan

    • Sumatra is pretty high in caffeine, it is rated '9' for caffeine and recent experience has led me to believe it! I've been drinking darker roasts (which typically have less caffeine available) for a few months until I got my hands on Sumatra again and was pretty buzzed after the first cup. If you also want the flavour to be bitter just overextract the coffee :)

  • Hi OP, which grind I should choose for delonghi dedica manual coffee machine please? Thanks

    • Hey dtingy. Choose the espresso grind 👍🏼

Sicilia is better in price and does not disappoint in quality. Use THANKS10 or CHEERS10 for 10% off. Order 3kg and pay only $5 for delivery. 1Kg starts at $16.90 for the very popular Italian blend! All freshly roasted and quick delivered from Adelaide: https://www.siciliacoffee.com.au/

I wish they included the roasting date on their packets

      • Don’t know why they don’t do it but it tastes always really fresh!

      • +1

Hey Fob. The roast date is on the front label. 👍🏼

    • I have tried Sicilia. Its pretty good. I think Airjo is better, or at least the beans I like (the darker roasts). But Sicilia is as good as other non Airjo brands I've tried that are more expensive.

      • -1

I just got beans from Coffee on Cue from their latest deal (autumn blend). They taste much better than the Sumatra blend and go better through the Rancilio grinder.

  • perfect timing. just ordered

    • Thanks so much jmondejar!

  • Ordered. Thank you.

  • Bought this before, great coffee! Purchased!

    • Thanks so much Petrup. Appreciate your feedback and your order.

  • Still have a 1kg bag bought last time, love it.

Just wondering what should the grinding number set on Breville Oracle?

    • Hey mutulong. Best option with grind settings is to run a shot with your normal setting and then hit me up directly on chat or email and we can tweak based on your shot results. Most grinders are different, even of the same model, so a generic recommendation doesn’t necessarily work.

Hope that helps and reach out any time.

      Cheers
      Dan

      • Great, thanks Dan.

    • +2

20gm In, 40ml Out in 30sec, every beans is different and even get changed when first open the bag and at the end.

      • 20-30 seconds, preferably 25s

        • My point was there is no one grind size to fit a Breville grinder, (every grinder is calibrated different even if it is the same model), rather the aim should be to measure the coffee IN, Out & time.
When I buy any beans this Ratio information is written on the package and I also ask the master roaster for optimum brew water temp. For light roast, it tend to be higher.

  • Ordered after reading these lovely comments. looking forward

    • Thanks so much RNG. Super keen to hear what you think.

      Cheers

  • I still have a half KG of Twilight (it's my first ever bag of beans and never tried any other brands) - how does the Sumatra blend compare?

    • Hey there OneJay. They are both great (of course I will say that :) but the Sumatra can be a little smoother and stronger.

      I hope that helps.

      Thanks for your question.
