  • Once you activated the offer how long do you have before the benefit expires?

  • Ok, got my initial 25k bonus points with my 1st statement. When is Gold Status provided if you selected this as your bonus offer?

    • Most likely after the 4th statement after you have finished the 4 x $1500pm spend.

  • Does anyone know when you activate the offer. How long do you have to apply for the credit card? There's no mention of it anywhere.

    • I have the same Q. Rang Virgin to ask and agent told me the offer expired end of May. I quoted the terms stating the offer just needed to be actived by end of May, but no time frame for CC application was given. Asked to speak to supervisor and am awaiting return call.

      • Yes please update that would be good to know.

        • Got hold of them today. No real clarity on the CC application time frame, but as I've now received my CC they said once I spent the required amount and received the bonus points from the card offer, the bonus 40K would follow within 60 days.

          • @mshark: Yeah I suspect there's no real time frame which is good.

  • +1

PSA: Just finished first month's $1500 spend on Velocity Flyer card and received the 40k bonus points already! I originally thought I would need to hit the 4 x $1500 spend each month. Great news :)

    • How long did it take for the points to come through?

      • Received 25k on 11/06 (end date of statement period). Received bonus 40k on 12/6.

        • Interesting so it must mean once the points credited it might just take a day for gold status to come through.

          • @nightelves: hmm … i applied for the westpac card, and bonus 75k landed on my account on 12th June … 5 days later still no sign of the gold status though

            • @setsuna: I'm in the same boat, have you received the 40k points now?

              • @pandy penyu: Nope. I called Velocity multiple attempts, only answer is, wait out the 30 days…

        • I got my 1st 25k on 4th June, and the bonus 40k on 8th June. Met $1.5k minimum spend on 20th May.

  • Has anyone been successful in getting their gold status yet?

    • +2

Nope. Still waiting. My points arrived 9th June.

      • Has anyones gold status arrived yet?

        • still no 😂

        • neither

        • I've been following up for weeks regarding what the criteria is for the Gold Status Trial, however can't get a clear response. I've spoken with both Virgin Money and Velocity and both don't seem to have an idea.

  • I got my 40k after first month spend, I was worried as didn't officially get the email, as well.

Got my gold status this morning

    • Same! And I only ‘activated’ the offer in my Velocity account well after I started using the card (and just before my first statement was due). I actually selected the bonus points initially when I applied for the card so it’s interesting that I was given Gold instead. Anyway, this will help for my upcoming international trip so very happy!

    • nice, and when did you get the first batch of bonus points?

Was going to give them a call as it's been 30 days at this point but might just wait hearing this

      • +1

I got my Gold status 5 days after my 2nd lot of 25k 'flyer 100k offer' points.

        • good to hear, thanks for that - will give it til the end of the week then

        • Like wise

  • I just spoke to Velocity and was told that the trial gold wouldn't be activated until 30 days after I had completed 4 months of qualifying spend. Interested to see that may not be the case for some people

    • Yeah I was told the same thing on the phone last week and they wouldn't budge, but ended up having it applied today so hopefully it comes soon for you

  • Update: got my gold status today - two weeks after the second lot of bonus points for the flyer card.

Interestingly my previous status credits and sectors (earned in May this year) have already been applied to fulfil the 80 status credit earn + 2 eligible sectors to maintain the gold status for another year - happy with that.

    • I got mine last week, just before my second statement. Not sure how they decide the timing, it seems quite random

      • Yeah, really bizarre. I'm just glad I didn't have to wait the four months

  • Got my 75,000 points on 22/7 and got my bonus 40,000 on 24/7
