I've bought a couple of these in the $26 - $29 range and have been really impressed with the quality. Has all the features of a pro controller (or all the ones I use anyway) and can turn the Switch on remotely, something that 8BitDo controllers can't do.

Half thinking of buying another one for this price.

Also have bought this one. Pretty good quality and have used for many hours so far from the first charge. Paid around $28 mark

Is there much controller lag? My Powerwave is ok most of the time, but you really notice that there's controller lag in Super Smash Bros.

      • Haven't noticed much playing Ludo lol

Honestly with the size of their menu I wouldn't be surprised.

      • Got a right good chuckle out of this

  • Thx op, bought 1

  • Thanks got 1, great price!

  • Cheers, looks like I'm joining the kids with a controller now.

Is there a difference between these two?

    • +15

      About $8.29

      • +1

Thanks. Got this one. The other one said updated model but couldnt see the difference.

    • +2

Thanks for the link, because this Ozbargain one sold out, so I got the one you posted, still cheap :)

  • thanks, got 1, I'll give it a go at this price

  • +2

Can this be used as a wireless or Bluetooth controller for PC and android phones?

    • Yes, should also be able to pair it with compatible iOS devices. I'm buying this to pair with the Galaxy Tab A8 from the recent Optus deal, should be nice to use it to play racing games.

  • Thanks OP, grabbed two and shall make them the primary controllers now so as to preserve the original ones

    • Just curious, why do you want to preserve them?

      • To maintain resale value I guess

        • Is it your joycons? I find that no matter what you do, they end up drifting

  • Already got 2 of the Pros, hopefully they are as good as the comment/review says, coz just impulse bought 2 at this price, great gift idea for my switch owning friends who hasnt got the Pros yet . Ta OP!

  • -1

I’ve never used a knock off controller that was good - I’ve bitten on a very similar deal (albeit I think a different product) and it was garbage. They were always the visitor controllers when we were kids, and I don’t think they’re any better now lmao

    • +2

Damn how old are you? How old is the switch? Many questions.

      • When 2 is many

      • Wasn’t talking about switch controllers specifically, was thinking more about PS1 lmao

    • +16

If you own other consoles, a good solution is to get an 8bitdo USB adapter for around $20 on ebay:

      https://www.ebay.com.au/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=8bitdo+usb…

When you need extra switch controllers, you can use good controllers like Wii U pros, PS3, PS4, PS5, etc on the Switch with this. Switch thinks it's a wired Switch pro controller.

The black version ($3 more) handles bluetooth xbox one/series controllers too.

Cheaper than this deal, and much higher controller quality.

      • +1

        Great tip, thanks!

  • +1

Got these about 6 months ago for around $28. No issues. Great controllers for sub $30. This deals a bargain!

  • +7

    Here's your controller bro

  • will this work on xbox one?

  • +5

I bought 2 of these exact knockoffs last year via eBay. Worked well and connected for a few months, but then were both unresponsive and didn't connect. I thought it might've been a Switch update etc which rendered them useless, but unsure.

I just sucked it up and bought the official pro controllers.

    YMMV.

    • +2

appreciate your comment, was about to buy, not anymore, ill stick to Nintendo controllers only, have 3 pro controllers and wanted a 4th but from reading comments theres lag, and then your one was nail in the coffin, giving this one a miss

      • +2

You're welcome. While I'm not an avid gamer and definitely enjoy cheap knockoffs, IMO it's just less of a hassle if sticking with the official controllers.

I know the price is sweet, but 'the hassle' is sometimes the added price you pay.

    • I have 2 @ Play controllers which don’t connect to the Switch with the latest firmware but work fine on the Switch with older firmware. Unsure why.

  • +2

Have a bunch of these, build quality is sufficient, buttons feels nice but lag is real. Especially for smash. Very painful.

  • I've bought 3 of these controllers (from AliExpress) and they work fine with our Switch and my RetroPi. For $20 or so you can't go wrong. Decent build, easy pairing, good battery life.

  • +1

Anyone that have this and can confirm if it works with android tv, thinking of getting one for retroarch

    • It's Bluetooth and has been confirmed to connect with other devices aside from Switch, so no reason why it won't work with Android TV.

      • Thanks, just a bit worrying when all the answers on QA on Amazon says only supporting Switch, so if anyone actually have to controller and tested against it, it would be great

  • -1

    Will this work in Tesla?

  • +1

I've bought before on AliExpress.. great value at this price.. grabbed another!

  • +1

Will this work with a tesla?

  • Passed on the wheel this morning.
So got 2 of this instead

  • +2

Stupid question but can these also be used for PC / Windows?

    • +1

according to amazon answers "appears as an xbox 360 device auto loads the drivers on win 10 when plugged in to USB". so yes

      • Any ideas on whether they work wirelessly or only through USB?

    • I've personally used it on PC for It Takes Two.

      • Thanks - did you use via USB or wireless?

        • USB. For wireless you need to use PC/laptop with bluetooth or get a bluetooth adapter.

          • +1

@Xastros: Can confirm that Bluetooth paired ok for me on Windows.

  • Picked up another one for my nephews… already got one but I use the Pro Controller exclusively and lump them with the weird off brand one, so can't speak to it's quality… not my problem aye!

  • +1

    do these have the gyro?

  • Any generic versions of the joy cons anyone can recommend?

  • I have two of these, and they're fantastic for the low price. I got them for less than $20 on AliExpress before. Comfortable and a similar feel to PS4 controllers. The joysticks and triggers feel great. I prefer the traditional rumble in them to the HD rumble too. More feedback. Gyro also works without issues. No NFC if that matters to you.

    • How the size compared to ds4 controllers?

      • They're more or less identical. Seems like the same or almost same mold.

    • Thanks for your comment :) Do you have a link for these on AliExpress? Also, what is NFC?

      • Not fried chicken

      • It was like a year ago and there's tonnes of sellers selling the same one at varying prices. NFC for amiibo support.

  • Nice deal, thanks OP. Bought 2

  • +1

How on earth can these turn a switch on and my 8bitdo pro 2 can't? TRIGGERED

  • Bought one of these for my son in December, he likes it. Uses it daily.

  • Just bought 3 thanks op

  • Would this work with shield?

    • +1

      I prefer a sword

  • +2

Mine started to drift after 1 month of purchase.

  • Perfect for play 4 in Mario Kart 8.

  • I think the "only 1 left in stock" is a lie

  • Does anyone know of some good thumbstick extenders that would fit these controllers?

  • Out of stock this morning

  • +1

Damn, out of stock sadly. Wanted to get 2.

      • +1

        Grabbed one, thank you!!!

      • Thankyou so much! When I noticed that this deal had run out of stock, I purchased one anyway from another Amazon seller (that a user above linked to) for about $10 more as it still seemed like a good controller at a good price. But after seeing your post I went back and cancelled that order and then bought 2 of these at the cheaper price!

Thankyou sir, you are a champion! 🏆😃

      • Interesting how the original deal can be sold out and this one you linked available. Both from the same seller 🤔

  • Back in stock at original price

  • +1

Ordered two of these soon after OP posted the deal, and after testing them just now, I suggest avoiding these.

The joysticks are the typical "8-directional disguised as analog" garbage that have been in the $5-$10 knockoff ps2/ps3 controllers from ebay or aliexpress since forever. It's basically just ewaste if you actually plan on using the joysticks.

Here's a video of exactly what I'm talking about taken from the Switch's calibration menu: link

  • Does anyone know how to get this to work with windows 10? I connected it via the USB and it detects it as a XBOX 360 For Windows but when I try and add it via bluetooth it doesn't appear?

    • +1

Did you press the home button for 4 seconds or so to get blue tooth pairing move to activate? The 4 leds start flashing more rapidly at this point and windows detected the device footy me at this time.

      • You're amazing thanks for that!

  • I picked up 2 of these last week they seem pretty decent on PC. One warning for anyone after analogue triggers, this only has digital buttons so no gradual throttle controls in racing games, etc.

As for comfort they're actually really nice in the hand and weigh less than an Xbox one controller without feeling cheap.

  • Update on these as my switch arrived last night. I'm not sure how much better a Nintendo pro controller would be, but I feel like there would be diminishing returns. These are fantastic on the switch, far better than the joycons for my hands and they seem really responsive.
