  • Maybe silly question but could this be used with something live VLC via hdmi to watch media on a hotel tele ?

    • Yes it could, but it is missing an HDMI port so you would need an adaptor and it only seems to have one USB c port. For that use case, a cheap firestick/chromecast might work better for cheaper.

      • +1

It has 2 USB C Port, so I put one with the charger, and the other one to USB-C to USB hub with HDMI

  • Great price for great specs!

    • +5

I'd personally recommend going for the 8gb version co sidering it's only an additional 50 bucks.

      • +4

Agreed. Also the 8gb version "Includes a detachable keyboard and Lenovo USI Pen." Which is already worth the difference

        • -2

Another case of ‘the real deal is in the conments’

          • -1

@Jimothy Wongingtons: lol, the 8gb version is the deal in the OP?

        • All come with keyboard (unlike Surface Pro), but the 4GB model lacks stylus, so should not even have been mentioned at that price difference.

  • -2

Might want to include OLED in the title as there are different versions.

    • +1

      Nope

      • +1

It would avoid any confusion with the older model (not 5).

        • The older model is duet 2, it's a 10.1" device…completely different.

Should you also mention that it's a 13.3"? Just in case people think it's a 10.1"?

          • @krisspy: Yes, screen size would also work. What's your damage?

          • @krisspy: Did not know they were completely different. Thought it was just a refresh. Definitely confusing.

      • +1

Just having Duet 5 in the title is confusing. The number 5 doesn't show much, especially for someone who doesn't know much about it.

Sorry for basic question, I just don't have time to research before buying.
Does Chromebook work like an Android phone? Would it run most of not all Android apps?
In particular I need it to run ivms4200 hikvisions cctv software

    • So far, most Android App that run in Android tablet, run on my Chromebook Duet 5. No lag so far, but I dont run gaming App, and I have the 8Gb version

    • In particular I need it to run ivms4200 hikvisions cctv software

Most apps, but you should check on any that are vital to you.

    • You don’t have like thirty minutes to google search lol

  • How's the writing experience on this compared to Samsung tab s7+/s8+ for example? I know it is not as good but is it much worse? Just using for media consumption and note taking

  • +1

Missed it last time at $559… For $647 it's still a good deal but hard to pull the trigger now :(

    • -3

last time the title was incorrect, $559 was only for 4GB model

      • +1

I believe it was correct, At first it was the 4GB model on sale for $500 something then the 8G model somehow dropped to $559 for one night on both Amazon and Officeworks

        • I got my 8gb from office works for $559 last deal.

    • +1

That one seems like a fluke, the Amazon one sold out really fast but I have a feeling officeworks just forgot to end their price matching till the next day.

  • Anyone knows how this would go with some mod 2000s console emulation? Trying to find something portable but also that i can do some light gaming on

  • Expired $797 now

  • +1

    8GB still $647
    4GB now $497
