    Good deal!

    • +1

      Thank you!

  • Can the ultimate home be redeemed online for jbhifi or good guys egift cards?

I couldn't do it with the ultimate teens I bought from woolies.

    • Yes you can redeem the Ultimate Home online at JB Hi-Fi & Good Guys. We are distributing the new Ultimate Cards which can be used online. The one you picked up at Woolies may of been the old Ultimate cards.

      • Can you use zip pay as payment

        • Unfortunately we don't have zip but we are looking into what other payment options we can add in the future, so watch this space!

          • @AustinBlack: Yes but you can use a one time card to pay which then you owe the money to them as zip pays you

            • @bwatt72: Oh maybe! Will have to try that myself!

  • is there a limit on how many we can buy?

    • Yes, there is a limit of 10 eGift Cards per order.

  • Any eBay cards for sale ?

    • Not at the moment I'm sorry!

  • Can you redeem multiple cards on JB Hifi online? I tried previously and it didn’t work

    • No you can't as you use it in the credit card section so can't add more than one I'm afraid.

    • +2

As you discovered the hard way, you can only directly redeem one Ultimate gift card per online transaction at JB Hi-Fi.

However, if you are able to use an Ultimate gift card to purchase a JB Hi-Fi gift card from JB Hi-Fi (either in-store or online), you can then use as many JB Hi-Fi gift cards as you want online in each transaction. You're not officially allowed to do it, but you'll probably find that you can do this anyway.

      • In-store: Some staff have been trained to stop anyone using Ultimate or TCN gift cards to purchase a JB Hi-Fi gift card at JB Hi-Fi, and this was due to JB Hi-Fi's head office directing stores do stop this in response to a wildly popular 15% off TCN gift card deal at Coles during Black Friday 2020. However, some staff are not aware of this (or don't care). Additionally, there is nothing in JB Hi-Fi's sales system to stop you from redeeming an Ultimate or TCN gift card when purchasing any gift cards at JB Hi-Fi.

If you end up going down this route, tell the staff member you'd like to pay by card. If you say gift card, the staff member will think you are wanting to redeem a JB Hi-Fi gift card (which is not the case) and will choose the wrong payment option.

      • Online: You should be able to purchase JB Hi-Fi gift cards through the JB Hi-Fi website if you add the Ultimate gift card's details into the checkout or add the Ultimate gift card to your Apple Pay wallet and then opt for Apple Pay at checkout. However, if JB Hi-Fi's website will actually let you do this (and I cannot give you an iron-clad guarantee this will always be the case), you'll probably only be able to purchase 1 or 2 JB Hi-Fi gift cards each day. I think this has something to do with JB Hi-Fi's fraud prevention system kicking in and stopping any more gift card sales on a given day after you purchase 1 or 2 JB Hi-Fi gift cards in the same day.
      • Tried online, it appears gift card number has 19 digits whereas jb have 18 digits to enter on checkout.

        • +3

If you have the Visa version of the Ultimate gift card, you need to enter the 16 digit card number (the one that starts with 457824) into the section of JB Hi-Fi's checkout where you enter the details for any other sort of Visa card. The CVV should be with the gift card too, and the expiry date you use for online purchases is 12/29. Do not enter the 19 digit PCN, as that is only used to activate the gift card at the time of purchase, as well as checking the balance on the Blackhawk Network website.

If you have the EFTPOS version of the Ultimate gift card (the one with a card number starting with 502125), you cannot use it for any online purchases.

The section of the JB Hi-Fi checkout where you enter a gift card number is only for gift cards issued by JB Hi-Fi gift cards. Ultimate gift cards are not issued by JB Hi-Fi and operate either on the Visa or EFTPOS networks, which is the reason JB Hi-Fi gift cards and Ultimate gift cards have different redemption processes for online (or in-store) purchases.

          • +2

@WookieMonster: Thanks this clear up when ppl are trying online

          • @WookieMonster: Thanks for explaining wookiemonster. So can someone confirm if this giftcards are visa ones?

      • FYI I tried buying a JB gift card online with the Ultimate card using the gift card expiry date (using month/year only and ignoring the day) and the page shows success but I get an email right after saying it was cancelled due to failure in verification. Not sure if this is what you're meant to do for normal purchases as well.

Also tried expiry date of 12/29 per your other comment and I get a "2000 Do Not Honor" error code and the transaction doesn't go through. Is there a reason for specifically using 12/29 or did I read wrong?

Also looked for a Google/Apple Pay option but I could only see PayPal as an alternative. Switching to a normal purchase shows more options (Afterpay, Latitude, Zip).

        • I wonder why?

        • I’m not entirely sure why JB Hi-Fi is blocking you from purchasing a JB Hi-Fi gift card, but it probably has something to do with the fact that you were using an Ultimate gift card to try to purchase a JB Hi-Fi gift card through the JB Hi-Fi website. (Remember, you're not officially allowed to do this!)

I’d suggest you try to purchase a JB Hi-Fi gift card again during business hours today, as you may have more luck. If not, if you have access to Apple Pay, you should have more success purchasing a JB Hi-Fi gift card. JB Hi-Fi does not have a Google Pay or Samsung Pay option for their online store, which is why I never mentioned them as options before.

If you can visit a physical JB Hi-Fi store, it is easier to purchase a physical JB Hi-Fi gift card there when compared with online, as I am not aware of any restrictions within the JB Hi-Fi sales software for in-store sales of JB Hi-Fi gift cards paid for with an Ultimate gift card.

Btw, the reason I suggested an expiry date of 12/29 is that this was the original guidance from Blackhawk Network. However, I’d suggest you check the expiry date on Blackhawk Network’s balance check website to confirm whether the expiry date you use for purchases with your gift card is actually 12/29.

        • What the denomination or total value of the giftcard purchase?

  • Are these now taking ages to come through as one I had was very quick but next has not come yet

    • Hi bwatt72, we have a risk tool that high value orders go through for checking, something may have triggered that to look more carefully at your order. If you don't receive your egift soon or get a cancellation please email [email protected] with your order number and we will look into this for you ASAP as we obviously don't want you to miss out!

      • All came through in the end.

        • Oh fabulous! If you ever have any issues please do email me :)

Hi OP, I'm having issue ordering the gift card from your website.
My order was pending and has now been cancelled by your system.

I have tried another payment method but still no luck. Any idea?

I got the same reply, Order cancelled for no reason.

      • Hi Unicorn007, we have a risk tool that high value orders go through for checking, something must have triggered it to reject the order. We can however request a review manually, if you could please email [email protected] with your order number I will have this actioned ASAP as we obviously don't want you to miss out!

  • Can this stack with Goodguys TOP10 and 6% cashback?

    • It behaves like a Visa card so I would think so…. let us know though!

  • can I use special gift card visa card to buy these

    • Good question, not sure on the rules of that card, you could try!

      • do you accept prepaid visa cards?

        • I just used an OnlyOne Visa card and that worked, may depend on the issuer though…

      • It will be great if you can increase the card threshold to $1500 instead of just $1000.

        • +1

I will let our product team know your feedback :)

          • @AustinBlack: Thanks!
This will help customers make bigger purchases online as well. I really wanted to buy $1200 (after 15% discount) sound bar using this gift card on TGG but can’t.

  • Ok I’m reading different things here I be mostly using this in store.
But once you register the cards they are officially good to go?
Am I reading this right can you not use two gift cards back to back the ones provided here in jb store or was this online.
And once you register your cards am I right in saying you can use these to buy the jb hifi gift card online to use in store?
Or does jb only let you swap one of these cards online?

Not that it makes much difference but thought if say I used these cards in jb and then return or change of mind or something how would jb refund not back to these cards? Probably a jb card right.

All I need to know really is can I use both these cards purchased here today in jb just like you would if it was jb cards obviously some places might have limits on how much gift card’s you can use just curious

  • Hi OP, if you buy custom $1000.00, does it comes as under one eGift card value of $1,000.00? or comes in 10x eGift cards of $100.00 denomination each?

Bought an active card this morning to use and the whole thing has been such a pain as the card is not working on any of the retailers and the PCN is also showing as invalid (it has been activated via all the correct steps trom my end)

The card shows up in my account and has been activated etc, but pretty much can’t be used for any retailer (all saying not valid) or even with their own exchange e-gift service and also showed an error code of EGIFT_IRE3_504

Called their customer support team after trying to get it working for a few hours, and they said it looks all good on their end and would need to escalate it to get fixed, and that they would call me back this afternoon. They never called back so I just called them and they said there is nothing more they can do and I should call ultimate gift cards.

Called ultimate gift cards and they said I should call the place of purchase. Told them I had done that and giftz have advised to call ultimate gift cards. Ultimate Customer service said he would send it on to their “back of house” team to be looked into and they would send me an email in 24 - 48 hours. I asked to speak to them directly as I want to get it rectified, and he advised they don’t take calls or speak to anyone so my only option was to wait.

The whole process is such an inconvenience. I would have purchased well over $15,000 worth of gift cards over the years from places like suncorp, NIB, NRMA and never once had a single issue.

Yet this whole process has been so frustrating and such a waste of time, and their resolution process is pretty much useless.

    Would not recommend.

    • Hi Raptors, I am really sorry to read this and I am here to help! Please let me know your order number and I will have someone from our product team contact you on Monday (as they would have all left now) to resolve this for you.

      • Hi Austin,

Thanks for your help. Really appreciate you reaching out.

I will send you a direct message with the order number, but as I mentioned, I have in fact spoke to your customer support team today and they advised there was nothing more they could do from their end and that I would have to contact ultimate gift cards on 1800 862 126.

        Thanks again Austin.

        • Hi Raptors, I have replied to the private message :)

          • @AustinBlack: Update:

Thanks Austin for reaching out and assisting with a resolution here organizing a refund for me with the card not working.

            Much appreciated.

  • I have an iPhone and when in jb today I had to add these cards to wallet to make them work? I thought it was the case of just putting in card number and pin.
Anyway it’s myprepaidcener app I believe this uses as an app. How do you get it to work? I had the checkout girl help me and she was struggling as not an iPhone user but somehow got it to work.
I’m not that clued up on the iPhone more a Samsung user from past.

  • I'm going to buy $999 worth ultimate home.
Can I use this to purchase one item at jb hifi in store say worth $999?

How long is it take to get the ultimate home egift?

Any issue that I need to be aware off?

    Thanks

    • Hi Surat, yes you can use the eGift to purchase items from JB HiFi. The eGift may come through within a few minutes or it could take hours if a risk check is flagged, to try to avoid that use your own name, your own email, your own address and a credit card in our own name and if possible place the order on a laptop or phone at your home address. Let me know if there any issues.

  • +1

Thanks OP for sorting out the issue can confirm was able to buy $1000 worth of gift cards ..now will see if they work instore

    • Let us know…

  • So I was considering buying a gift card to use in JB in store (wanted to stack with the JB perks coupon + a gift card I already had) but I'm a bit confused about how I would use an egift card in store

The website mentions swiping a physical card and entering the pin, but nothing about "and if you bought an egift card, take the barcode and enter the pin"
Ultimately I figured for 10% (for my amount) it wasn't worth the risk of
    1) egift cards not being accepted in store
    2) having to wait to get a physical card if 1) is true
    3) not having clear instructions if I get to the store and they say they do accept them, but that I needed to do XYZ (such as installing an app or signing up to apple pay/some form of wallet) to actually use it

I realise 3) might actually be the point of the deal, that they're trying to get more people using their app, but I honestly don't see myself keeping the app unless % off deals are regular through this site.

Absolutely a market for this though - parents can whack on gift cards for their kids and the kids can use them, I would be pretty excited if I were in that situation, but I'm probably just a bit old!

    • +1

The Ultimate gift card website actually talks about this under the Add to Mobile Wallet section of the page I just linked:

Add your Ultimate Gift Card to your Apple, Google or Samsung mobile wallet and purchase your favourite item at terminals that accept contactless payments.

Add your eGift to your Mobile Wallet:

      1. Click on the eGift link sent to your email
      2. Fill out the registration form to activate your eGift
      3. Click on the Add to Wallet
      4. You will be promoted to download My Prepaid Center App if not already installed
      5. Your card has been added to your mobile wallet

JB Hi-Fi will accept Ultimate gift cards added to mobile wallets (as long as those gift cards actually have JB Hi-Fi as a participating merchant). All you need to do is tell staff that you'd like to pay using multiple cards and ask to pay via split payments or partial payments. The Ultimate gift cards in this deal operate on the Visa payment network, so you simply tap your mobile device against the EFTPOS terminal to initiate payment (just like any other prepaid/debit/credit card you add to your mobile wallet).

You should not also say "I'd like to use multiple gift cards", because nearly all staff will assume you're referring to JB Hi-Fi gift cards and then select the Gift Card payment option on their systems (and this option can only handle JB Hi-Fi gift cards). It's easiest if you simply say to staff "I'd like to pay by card" and don't mention you are using gift cards. However, if staff ask you what kind of cards you are using, tell them you're using Ultimate gift cards.

      • I believe my cards are in my wallet? As I can view them on there it’s the part where I’m ready to use pay.
When I open the wallet say do I select the card I want to use?
And then does jb select a method im using and when I go near the machine it will come up to proceed?
I know myself personally I have my finger print to authorise it.
But as I have other cards on there I’m not wanting to use another by mistake.
Maybe all the fuss with myself and checkout girl helping me was trying to add the cards which I thought I had done previously.
But all I need to know is actually using it when time comes.’
I have almost used both my cards but wish to use remaining today or next. And be good if I know I’m good to go in advance as im bit confused how it works.

        • It sounds like you have the Ultimate gift cards in your Apple Pay wallet.

When you go to use the Ultimate gift cards in your Apple Pay wallet, you need to select the card in your Apple Pay wallet that you want to use by tapping on it, then authenticate that you want to use that card by using your fingerprint. After you have authenticated, you will be able to tap your iPhone against the EFTPOS machine.

The Apple Pay wallet will always show the card you are about to use in the transaction, so you'll need to make sure it is the correct card before you tap your iPhone against the EFTPOS machine.

          • @WookieMonster: Yes it’s the ultimate card offered on this site as a Mother’s Day deal.

            You mention

you want to use by tapping on it, then authenticate that you want to use that card by using your fingerprint.

When I tap on it just tells you where it was last used and what’s left on it?

No fingerprint option etc comes up not sure how girl at checkout got it going by she was struggling by she is not an iPhone user and I’m newish also.

          • @WookieMonster: Lol I’m all good it seems when I’m on that card in my wallet if I hold my finger on the home button some come up which will probably allow me to use if near a eftpos.

Just to be sure when I use remaining amount on the card there was something I’m sure you mentioned elsewhere or was someone else what do I tell the checkout girl it’s gift card as ain’t there own gift cards and this ultimate different so in other worlds if I say gift card it might not work. Thanks

            • @bwatt72: This thread really makes me feel better about not bothering. Thanks for your experience and explanations

            • @bwatt72: You should get a Hold Near Reader message below a picture of the card after authenticating your card within your Apple Pay wallet, which means NFC is active and you can tap your iPhone near the NFC reader on the EFTPOS terminal.

If you get a Pay with Touch ID message below the picture of your card (or there is nothing below the card), that means you have not authenticated yet and you will need to authenticate first.

When you are at the checkout, tell the checkout person you’d like to pay by card. If your Ultimate gift card has insufficient balance to pay the full amount owed, you’ll need to tell the checkout that’d you like to spend a particular amount on card. If you say to the checkout person that you’d like to pay by gift card, you won’t be able to use an Ultimate gift card, as the checkout system will be expecting a JB Hi-Fi gift card instead. Remember, these Ultimate gift cards operate on the Visa payment network, and they operate on a different network to JB Hi-Fi’s own gift cards; this is the reason you need to tell the the checkout person you’d like to use a card.

              • +1

@WookieMonster: Yes when I click on card with funds still in it and I hold the home bottom it does say hold near reader.and yes below pic of the card obviously as I’m not using it yet or near a eftpos but believe I’m good to go.
I just was not sure how it worked.
So holding down my home button which is finger print id everything else im sure falls into place, time will tell.
As girl at checkout was busy and helped me out it was so quick I never had change to see what she did.
Some of them are very unhelpful or say ain’t got a clue least she helped when I last used.
Obviously when I next use the ultimate card I use remaining amount followed by jb gift card.
So I best say card first then I’m using jb card to save any confusion or issues

      • So card registration, add to wallet, AND my prepaid centre app?

Just a bit much for what I was going to save…

        • Correct, soon a number of cards will go via My Prepaid Centre so it's worth registering :)

  • I am planning to purchase 5k OLED TV from TGG store using GC. If I purchase 5 gift cards of $1000 each, will I be able to use it at TGG store?

    • +1

The answer depends on whether you’re purchasing the TV in a physical TGG store or online through the TGG website.

      • In-store: yes, it should be fine. I once used three (physical) Ultimate gift cards in one transaction in a physical TGG store, and someone else once used 20 cards. (The other person used TCN gift cards operating on the EFTPOS network (which is not the gift cards in this deal), but it illustrates the fact that there shouldn’t be any problems using five Visa gift cards in one transaction.)

      • Online: no. You can only redeem a maximum of one Visa card per transaction on the TGG website.

      • Online - TGG commercial: no. You cannot redeem these gift cards on the TGG Commercial website.

      • +1

Thanks …Yes it's in store. I have already paid deposit.

      • Can this card be used as EFTPOS?

I have been told by store rep that as long it's EFTPOS I can use 5 GCs of 1k each

        • +1

It depends on what you mean by EFTPOS.

          • If you’re referring to the EFTPOS network (the one where you select Savings or Cheque), no. These gift cards operate on the Visa network, not the EFTPOS network.

          • If you’re referring to using an EFTPOS machine to make the payment, yes, as long as the EFTPOS machine in the store has an NFC reader and is compatible with Apple Pay. The EFTPOS machines at my local TGG store have an NFC reader and accept Apple Pay, so you should be fine in that respect. As I said before, I’ve used (physical) Ultimate gift cards at TGG before, and those gift cards were the ones that also operate on the Visa network, so I don’t foresee any problems with you using 5 Ultimate eGift Cards @ $1000 each.

          • @WookieMonster: If it works in Apple Pay then it would work on Google Pay as well I assume? I use android phone.

            • +1

@softkun123: You can add Ultimate eGift Cards to Google Pay or Samsung Pay.

I haven't used Google Pay or Samsung Pay in a TGG store before, but I assume it works too.

    • The store rep has stated a fair number of times that there is a limit of $1000 worth per person. Obviously you can still try to do it but they may cancel your other 4 orders etc. or even worse flag them and have your cards not show up, meaning you’ll need to contact support and whatnot. Just a warning. I am interested to know if it works out for you.

It sounds like the JB Hi-Fi staff member completely misunderstood the payment method you wanted to use.

The Ultimate eGift Cards sold in this deal operate on the Visa network, and as such operate just like any other Visa card. They are different to JB Hi-Fi gift cards, which operate on their own network.

To redeem an Ultimate eGift Card in-store at JB Hi-Fi, you need to have the Ultimate eGift Card added to your mobile wallet first, then ask to pay by card (because remember, it is a Visa card), open the card in your wallet, then tap your smartphone against the EFTPOS terminal.

If you tell the cashier you want to pay via gift card at JB Hi-Fi, they will think you want to pay using a JB Hi-Fi gift card, and their system will expect the barcode from a JB Hi-Fi gift card.

      Does this help?

      2. Fill out the registration form to activate your eGift Card
      3. Click on the Add to Wallet
      4. You will be promoted to download My Prepaid Center App if not already installed
      5. Your eGift Card has been added to your mobile wallet

Add your Card to your Mobile Wallet using Card Details

      1. Go to the Wallet app on your mobile device
      2. Click on the plus icon
      3. Select Debit or Credit card on the next screen

  • WORKING method for online purchase…
Wanted a dishwasher from JB while on sale with current additional 10% off at $1348.20.
Purchased 1x $1000 card and 1x $348.20 card from giftz. Activated them following the email links to myprepaidcentre which became VISA cards.
Because JB doesn't allow multiple VISA cards I purchased 2x $500 JB gift cards from JBs website using the $1000 VISA card.
Then I successfully made the dishwasher purchase using the 2x $500 JB gift cards and 1x $348.20 VISA card.

  • Hi @WookieMonster

I am planning to buy 4 Ultimate Teen GC each worth of $1000 and then with that amount($4000) I would like to buy 8 JB-HIFI GC each worth of $500. So that I can buy the Sony 77 inch TV online along with ClickFrenzy coupon. Will my calculation work?

    • Hi,

      Yes, that works in theory.

In practice, the issue is that you may not be able to get your hands on $4,000 worth of JB Hi-Fi gift cards before the coupon code expires tonight.

      • If you walked into a JB Hi-Fi store and asked to purchase $4,000 in JB Hi-Fi gift cards, staff will most likely tell you “no”. They’ll likely also think you’re falling victim to a scam, so any attempt to purchase a lower amount (e.g. $1,000) will probably go nowhere. You’ll likely need to visit multiple stores to purchase enough JB Hi-Fi gift cards to pay for your TV.

      • If you try to use Ultimate Home eGift Cards to pay for JB Hi-Fi gift cards online, your gift card orders may be cancelled or may not arrive until after the coupon code deal expires at the end of today. JB Hi-Fi does not officially allow customers to pay for JB Hi-Fi gift cards using Ultimate (or TCN) gift cards either in-store or online, but it is generally up to staff to enforce this limitation. JB Hi-Fi’s online sales system tends to behave erratically when it comes to orders of JB Hi-Fi gift cards paid for using Ultimate gift cards; some orders will go through, some orders are immediately rejected (i.e. no funds redeemed from the card), and other orders are cancelled after funds have been debited from the Ultimate gift card.

It may be easier to go in-store and ask if they can do a deal to price match the 10% off coupon code offer, and then pay for the TV in-store using multiple Ultimate Home eGift Cards.
