    Only for the aesthetics.

These types of fridges are are heavily dependent on ambient temperature. Don't expect ice cold cans.

    • +22

I wouldn't even turn this thing on really. It's a figurine.

    • +16

buy a fridge to place this fridge inside to cool the cans inside the XBOX fridge?

      • Regardless of how arse the fridge is, there's still an insulation factor to consider as you go from big fridge down to Xbox fridge.

      • +1

add a water cooling setup to the peltiers

      • +2

        fridgeception

      • +2

According to reviews, you can put a XSX inside of the fridge snuggly. It's almost designed for cooling the Xbox instead of drinks šŸ¤”

    • -1

It's probably for cooling down the actual XBOX lol

    • Of course - there isnt any liquid or gas inside, solely Thermoelectric.

    • Would it cool faster if you put an SSD in it?

  • +11
    • Now that is a fridge I want!

    • +29

"This fridge is a 1:1 scale replica of the Xbox Series X, measuring more than six feet tall and weighing 400 pounds."

      I don't think that's how scale replicas work….

      • +8

Well it is The Verge. Responsible for the greatest PC build video ever…

        • +1

I'm still not sure if that video was supposed to be legitimate, or if it was just to troll LTT/Hardware Nexus.

        • Can I have a link?

          • +4

            @JL1: https://youtu.be/2lmfF0k2UcU

Some of the reaction videos are hilarious.

            • +2

@Cheapo Moose: Iā€™m not defending the pc build video, but some of the feedback/reaction videos were a bit over the top and cringe. From what I remember there was a lot of verge bashing from PC parts YouTubers. To be fair the verge is usually decent quality blogging. They are writers for a broader scope of tech, not just PC-build technicians.

That being said, the build video was bad and shouldnā€™t have got through if anybody checked it. And being sponsored and under time constraints perhaps it got through without doing the proper checks they normally do for first-party articles and they unfortunately chose the wrong guy to do it and used the material they had even though it was terrible.

You should check out LTT recently did a ā€œredemptionā€ video with that same presenter and he was still awkward and didnā€™t really take ownership of how bad the video was.

      • Don't blame them. Once they can't get "news" from reddit and have to think for themselves.. they are stuffed.

  • +9

    Does this support 4K 120Hz?

    • +24

      Probably doesnā€™t even support 4C

  • +12

    Can it run crysis?

    • +5

You will have a crysis when you want a cold drink out of it

    • +2

No but of course doom is no problem

  • +12

Imagine giving this to a kid for Christmas and telling them its a Xbox….

  • -5

    rrp is not a bargain

    • +4

Pretty sure we're well beyond that point since for the last 2 years we've been posting RRP PS5/XBSX 'deals' as they appear in stock

    • It is if you cannot find it in stock reliably

    • It's a bargain compared to the scalpers.

  • I guess that's one way to fix heatsink issues.

  • +1

just fill it with ice, instantly more effective.

  • +1

Want it, but it's so unnecessary. Bit like Homer's Astrolabe.

  • Ultimate troll present… spend hundreds of dollars for the alternative version which does has functionality, but not the real deal.

    voted +

  • The fridge size is x1.5 larger than the original Xbox Series X console. May mess up a symmetrical set-up.

  • Without opening the link - Peltier device?

It'll do fine for your drink cans in the office.

  • -6

If it was a PS fridge, I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

    • +15

Don't worry, Sony will release one. You can always count on Sony doing exactly what MS does, only a few years later.

          • +5

@tallkid123: I think your poor attempts at trolling are what earned you downvotes. Besides, the PS5 is about the size of a standard fridge already.

            • -3

@smartazz104: I wasn't trolling. Unlike your poor attempt at comprehending my one sentence comment.

              I genuinely would buy a PS fridge…

        • They're downvoting PainToad because he's wrong

You can always count on Sony doing exactly what MS does, only a few years later.

Here are some examples (from memory) to the contrary:
          - Sony came out with portable mp3 players before the Microsoft Dune.
          - Sony created the Dual Shock controller, with 2 analogue sticks, before everyone else.
          - Sony created the PS2 (DVD-based game console with networking and an (optional) hard drive.
          - Sony put a HDMI port on the PS3 (Microsoft did this later with the Zepher revision of the Xbox 360)
          - Sony included Wifi with the first PS3. Microsoft added it in the Slim revision years later.

Microsoft did some things first too:

          • Microsoft charged $10 / month for online gaming with Xbox Live while Sony PSN was free on the PS. Later Sony started charging for it too with the PS4.
          • OG Xbox didn't need a memory card. Sony copied this next gen with the PS3.
          • Microsoft had the wireless controller first with the Xbox 360 (though the Nintendo Gamecube had this even earlier).
        • -2

Again in disbelief that there are at least 16 downvoting losers who got triggered by me simply wanting to buy a PS fridge?

Such a fridge doesn't even exist and you all already feel threatened enough to use the red minus button on the top right?

      • +1

PS5 would do better as a wine cooler holder.

        • +3

          Don't you mean whine?

    • to store your cds?

      • +1

        To store your minidiscs

        • -1

          To store my walkmans

          • @tallkid123: At least one downvoter still butthurt that their fridge's feelings also got hurt.

      • -4

I didn't neg you but how are Sony meant to make a ps fridge. Sony's design department isn't run by amateurs who just design rectangles.

        • +6

Do you really honestly prefer the look of the PS5? The thing looks hideous to me; colour and design.

The Xbox looks sleek and minimalist. The PS5 looks like it was designed by a 17 year old in the 2000s.

It reminds me of when Homer designed a car.

          Each to their own :)

          • @PainToad: Agreed, much prefer the minimalist look of the Xbox. And this is coming from someone who owns only the PS5.

        • It's called outsourcing, mate.

        • It's run by amateurs who miss the disco era.

        • I donā€™t have either console but you must be delusional if you think the PS5 design is better. The PS5 is larger, less powerful and has a lot of wasted space. The Xbox designs are minimalist and compact (relatively).

    • +1

Would you buy as PS5 tower fan?

      • Yes, I would buy that one. It actually goes nicely with my living room built ins.

  • -2

The real one super hot and this one super cold XD

    • +6

My Series X runs super cool and quiet compared to my PS5 jet engine. Love both consoles though, all of the games for me šŸ™‚

  • Thanks grabbed one!

  • Tempted to buy one just cause it looks so cool

  • Is this the official licensed product? Or like a replica?

    • -1

      read the title again.

      • +1

        It's technically both.

Mightyape even states it's an officially licensed product.

        • official rip-off

  • works better than the real thing i heard.

    • +3

No need to buy GamePass and no need to update firmware so yeah, works better than the real thing.

      • and you get all the food and drink you can eat!

        • Only if you live on a can of Coke per day.

  • Oh, it's like a mini-mini fridge at 45cm tall.

Nah, If I need one I'll just get a bar fridge, probably for cheaper as well.

  • Don't show this to Todd Howard

    • +1

      16 times the detail….

  • So close to buying it, then I just closed the tab. So close.

    • +3

It's cool, but not $220 cool. Maybe if it was closer to $100 then it's a pretty fun talking point.

      • -7

Preorders for Xbox X don't even sell out in 24hrs, let alone a fridge. This will be in the garbage by Chrismas.

        • +1

There is always one on an Xbox deal. Poor baby obsessed with sales figures.

        • Not what I heard. Unless you mean Series S didn't sell out which is probably true.

      • Would it be a true replica if it didn't also replicate the inflated price?

    • +1

I'm the exact same, I really want one cos it's cool but then just think I really don't need this, it won't keep coke or beer cold enough in reality and would be delegated to M&Ms and Snickers bars snack fridge

  • +1

    Finally a series x I can afford

  • Anyone knows what refrigerant it uses?

    • +2

peltiers and a fan on the hot side

    • Hopes and dreams.

    • Unicorn farts.

  • +1

For that price you can buy a real small fridge, or buy a different mini "fridge" (that doesn't actually do anything) much cheaper. If you want to cheap out, then an Esky style insulated cooler, and an old frozen bottle would keep things cooler, and for longer.

Of course if you just want to buy an interesting looking novelty conversation piece, and you really like XBox, then go ahead.

    • you can drink room temperature tap water too, 1000 litres less than $5

  • +1

This ain't going to keep your drinks cool but cool as a shelf prop

  • No Thanks…

    It should arrive:

    12-13 SEPTEMBER using Express
13-18 SEPTEMBER using standard parcel service

    • Isn't that the release date

  • Terrible reviews for these.

    • Lol some turkey here down voting the truth :P

      • +3

        šŸ¦ƒ

  • +6

Please don't buy this. Poor manufacturing, room temperature drinks, overpriced.
