This or samsung q60a for $1700?
Grabbed this off the RTINGs review for the x80J as im also looking for an entry level tee-vee:
The Samsung Q60/Q60A QLED and the Sony X80J are both basic entry-level models, but they use different panel types with different advantages and disadvantages. The Samsung is a VA panel, so it has a high contrast ratio that can deliver deep blacks, making it well-suited to watching movies or dark room gaming. The Sony uses an IPS panel with low contrast and wide viewing angles. It can't produce deep blacks like the Samsung, but it has a faster response time, so it may be a good budget option to use as a PC monitor.
IPS panels would be better for a larger living room if you're likely to have people viewing the TV on more of an angle too.
I've had a much nicer experience with the OS on my Sony vs my Samsung, though SmartThings is nicer than the Google Home controls.
Costco are often cheaper in-store - e.g. yesterday I bought the 85" KD85X85J for $3299 at Marsden Park whereas it's $3699 on-line.
any chance you can share you receipt? I'll go to my local Costco and get them to price match as their price is $3599.
Can't do the receipt as my Wife has it and is out of town this weekend - she paid..!!!
However, can share a photo of the price sticker which was current as of yesterday lunchtime at Marsden Park. They certainly had one in stock after we left.

@RossiBG: It's a BIG box - I used a 7x4 trailer - it just fitted lengthways and I transported it vertically strapped to two fence posts mounted in the corners of the trailer where a cage might mount. Worked very well. 2 x Costco staff brought it out to my car parked some distance away from the store entrance - impressed!
Cheapest I've seen it in-store at Costco was $3499 at Xmas but it does often go for that kind of price delivered from the Sony eBay store. I missed the last deal so snapped this up. I wonder with shipping and general shortages etc if a) when 2022 stock will arrive and b) what price they'll be so went for this as a bit of a gamble
Are you able to get any other retailers to price match with Costco’s in store prices? E.g. Sony store, etc.?
Just tried the Sony store, they only price match online stores.
In-store is cheaper almost always due to the online store includes delivery in the price.
