Hi guys. Sincere apologies for this, but we've only just been made aware that eSIMs are ineligible for cashback. In fact we had no idea you could select one at checkout. Anyway, when you purchase, please ensure you select a physical card only. eSIMs are ineligible for cashback.

If you purchased an eSIM from this promo up to and including 6:15pm AEST Saturday (07/05/22), we will honour your cashback. The transaction will not have tracked due to the fact it's not commissionable, but we'll be able to pull records from Woolies on Monday and track (and honour) these transactions to you, so please wait until then. I will update here once done. Thanks and have a great night!

Awesome gesture TA. I'm sure you lose money by doing this, and to resolve it so quickly and in this generous way is why Cashrewards is #1.

      • +6

You've seriously just made my night. I've been pulling whatever hair I have left to fix this as soon as I became aware. Thanks for the kind words :)

      • It is a good investment, a good way to maintain your reputation, once it is lost or damaged, may even need to spend double or triple that amount to get some back. TA is a passionate and experienced ozbargainer.

    • Thanks for this! I was wondering why there was no track and kept checking the app lol. But anyway thanks for the quick action. Still a bargain woohoo!

      • +2

It's a pleasure. I guess we all learnt something today. Enjoy your weekend :)

    • Thanks for considering to honour the earlier purchases. I’m one of them and appreciate it very much!

    • Thanks TA, you've always been a gem!! Almost purchased an esim, but came back to ozb for something (which I don't remember now).

    • eSIMs are ineligible for cashback.

Do you know what the reason for that is?

It's still a subscription to Woolworths mobile

      • +1

No idea at this stage. We’ll know more Monday and I’ll communicate it here. We’re hoping they will make them eligible going forward, as it’s actually saving them shipping costs :)

        • Any news why eSim was not eligible? Prefer eSim in future due to no postage wait time

    • Got the cash back tracking email around 4PM.

It says “Once Woolworths Mobile confirms your cashback, it will be added to your available rewards.”

      Hopefully all goes well

  • Just posted a comment on an old post and here it is a new one. Thank you.
I'm wondering if sim is being delivered within a couple of weeks.
Any issue if I'm port in from boost mobile ?

    • Why would there be an issue porting from boost?

      • In some instances I have heard that porting between the same service provider (let's say Kogan to Vodafone) might take a little longer although I haven't experienced that myself.
I was just trying to be sure if such things have happened while porting between two service providers using Telstra tower. :)

    • +7

My recent experience with Woolworths Mobile is that they have been efficient - good communication (order confirmation, shopping notification) and SIM cards have been received here (WA) in about a week. Porting process was very quick (TLS to TLS network).

If you're going to be a long-term Woolies customer, don't forget to use a Woolies Mobile referral code to get yourself a $10 e-Wish Card.

      • Does the cash back stack with referral?

        • +1

Yes, the referral for Woolies Mobile is an odd one, in that you enter the code after it has all been activated, not at sign-up. There's a tab in the app to enter the referrer's details. My cashback from Cashrewards has been confirmed.

Not sure where/how to randomly generate a referral code on here, but there's always the option to ask someone you know here/in real life who has the the service.

  • Is purchase of an eSim eligible for cashback?

  • +1

remain active for 30 days to be eligible for cashback

I will let it lapses. Is there an auto renewal I need to turn off?

    • +1

      Yup

    • +1

I forgot to turn off and got stung with a $40 recharge.. do this ASAP!!

    • terms said, "Cashback is limited to two prepaid services per member per month"

wonder if it is cashback $10 every month?

  • Thanks OP, just jumped on it.
It says it takes up to 24 hours to activate a service (new number), anyone know if that's just a conservative estimate and if it'll likely be much shorter?

edit: just activated, under 10 minutes

    • Mine took almost 24 hours

  • Can this be done?

Buy this sim, register then gift data to other Woolies sim with long expiry (6-12 months)

    • +1

Yes. But note that you can only gift 50% of the data.
I only recharge every 7 months to get the 10% off and don't use the sim. Could only give half to partner.

  • +1

Payment keeps declining, tried many different cards. Anybody else has the same issue?

    • Yep same…tried four times before it worked.

  • Mine hasn't tracked on cash rewards … Hmm
    How long does it take?

    • 10-20 minutes if you've done it correctly, using the link in the OP.

Three out of three tracked in around ten minutes for me, all via Cashrewards (previously).

    • Mine hasn't either, showing in click history but hasn't tracked just yet. I'll wait a little longer

    • +1

bought it 2 hours ago…haven't got tracked yet…

      • +1

Same, no tracking here after a few hours…

        • @Turd @kicha @ensanguined @a2741890

Hi guys. Out of interest, did you purchase the prepaid starter pack or an eSIM? Please note only physical cards are eligible for cashback.

          • -1

@tightarse: got esim… guess voided the deal? what rubbish

            • @Frozensage: That’s why no tracking. Are you able to cancel the order?

              • @tightarse: My eSim was activated right away so no way to cancel.

Cashrewards has just updated their terms to indicate no eSims in the 0% rate. Too late.

                • +3

@Newgod: Hi @Newgod - yes, we had to. We had no choice. We had to update everything the minute we became aware that eSIMs were excluded. But please note my comment here. You'll be fine :)

            • @Frozensage: I hope you've seen what TA has posted just a few minutes ago.

          • @tightarse: Oh esim.

Damm oh well I'll get a woolies egift card from it anyways.

            Dammm

Can't cancel the order esim activated. Doh

            • +2

              @Turd: @Newgod @Turd

              Please see here.

          • @tightarse: Hi TA, unfortunately yes mine was an eSIM. Just read your other comment and I really appreciate the kind gesture! You're awesome - wish I could do more than just upvote you. (maybe just continuing to spread the Cashrewards gospel?)

            • @kicha: I bought a physical sim at 2pm which shows on the click through but hasn't tracked yet.

              • @roddy84: I bought a physical sim and it tracking took about 5 mins.

    • +2

      @Turd @kicha @a2741890 @ensanguined @Frozensage @Newgod

Hopefully you now have the $10 in your CR accounts for your eSIM purchases :)

      • -1

Thanks TA, but not can't see $10 in my account yet.

      • Got the email notification and it's in my account, thank you again!

      • yes got notified and can see the record in CR right away. Really appreciate your help sir!

      • Got the cashbacks

        thanks TA

      • Still have not got the CR, email or the transaction in the account. The click through shows as 5:06pm. Do I need to jump on support to ask for them to manually apply it? Ta.

        • Please wait the 7 days then lodge a claim via your click history. Thanks.

  • When it says unlimited standard National calls are included, does that include free calls to Australian mobile numbers… or are free calls limited to landlines?

    • +1

should be unlimited mobile and landline

  • +2

Bought 2 (in separate transactions) and both got CR tracked

  • Newbie question: I am already a wollies mobile cuatomer. If I bought this sim, can I use it as prepaid voucher with my number?

    • +1

Nope as its a new SIM and Credit applied to it.

  • Are SIM cards activated automatically (like amaysim) or can you choose when to activate them (within 30 days).

I have people coming in from overseas (arriving 2/6/22) and won’t need to activate until then. Auto-activation will kill the deal.

    • I waited.
      Kill a $0 deal? Lol.

      • +2

if it auto activated, then, there would be marginal benefit and would just be a waste of time and resources…

    • +2

You can choose when to activate them. Just do it within 30 days for the Cashrewards bonus. Buy this tomorrow, activate on 2 June and you will be a winner.

      • Thanks

  • +1

How long before the sim card or the number expires without recharging? Thinking of getting one as a burner number just for deals

    • +6

      7 months in total.
      - 1 month of recharge
      - 3 months when you can receive txt/calls
      - 3 months when you can't receive txt/calls (hence can't port out if it requires confirming by txt)
Also they send you a txt few days before the service expires, which is handy.

      • thanks!

  • Service must be activated within 30 days of purchase and remain active for 30 days to be eligible for cashback.

So, we cannot move to another provider on the 29th day?

    • +2

That would be my question too. I won't be doing it on the 29th day though.
Dumb question but do I have to stay a little longer than 30 days (let's say a week extra) or is it ok to port out on the 31st day ?

      • My experience is check via the app specifically when your service will expire, turn off the auto recharge then port out after thr 30 days is up. I'll normally port out before i sleep at night given the 30 days is done. Satisfy all criteria for the cash back.

    • +1

wow, that 2nd part of the condition is a bit annoying to folllow.

    • The truth is the SIM does not even need to be activated to confirm cashback.

Info source plus my own exp.

      • Do you know if this is only for WW Mobile? Also, have you had a chance to try with Amaysim?

        • I cant say about it for Amaysim, but pretty sure for VF, Boost.

  • Will I have any issues porting from boost mobile to Woolworths mobile as they both use Telstra?

  • +1

anyone know where in the app I can find the refer a friend field to put in the code?

    • Yes I do.

      • Well at least you know

        • copied and pasted

  • When does the cashback offer expire?

    • in 2 days

      • No, today.

  • +1

anyone know where in the app I can find the refer a friend field to put in the code?

  • +1

I have a mobile number from Amaysim that will expire in a month time. Can I get this and port my number when activate later?

    • +1

That's fine as long as you activate this within 30 days of purchase and remain active for 30 days to be eligible for cashback.

  • Considering the 30 days active requirements, probably the $40 plan for 52gb is the best deal.

    • It is not free after cashback for other plans.

      • Yes. $10 for 52gb.

  • CR has always worked well for me in the past but now it says that my cash back may not be tracked because an adblocker is installed. However, I don’t have any adblocker installed. I don’t even have any extensions. Is anyone else facing this problem?

    • Ad-blockers aren’t always in the form of plug-ins or extensions. Some browsers have inbuilt ad-blockers, ad-limiters, and cookie blockers. If in doubt, use the Cashrewards mobile app for improved tracking. Thanks.

    • +1

Pi-Hole is what always blocked mine in the past until I realised! I now disable it when doing CR.

  • Ordered at 17:07
    Tracked at 17:13

Thanks you Cashrewards - business as usual.

  • $10 for referee and $10 for referrer, after referee makes $20 purchase within 14 days.

    How does this work?

EDIT: Referrals won't work with this deal, or will they?

    • +1

That's a referral for Cashrewards. There is a separate referral process and code for Woolies Mobile. See earlier posts for more information.

      • That's a referral for Cashrewards

Damn straight! I failed to notice that the primary store was Cashrewards.
Thank you for the heads up.

  • @tightarse Did Woolies get back to you guys on the reasons for eSIM being excluded?

One would imagine they would save some money by not having to ship out physical SIMs.

  • For anyone who missed out, there is a Woolies offer for 2000pts ($10) for the $25 starter pack.

Collect 2000 points* when you sign up to a Woolworths Mobile $25 SIM Only plan online. Simply use promo code 2000POINTS at checkout.

    • I get confused by these offers and plans, especially late at night after a few red wines!

Can I use the inherent value in the OP product offer ($20) and sign up to this $25 plan, at a net cost of $5?

      • Since you have to use a code, if the code is not listed on CR then you can't stack up.

        • You're probably right, not worth the gamble.

  • Has anyone activated as esim in the app?
Does it deactivate the physical Sim or can you basically get the service in 2 devices?
Also, is there a way to revert to physical Sim?

    • can you basically get the service in 2 devices?

Nope. Only one SIM can be active at a time.

  • Has anyone received their SIM yet ?

    • Nope. But in the order confirmation email it did say "Due to Australia Post delivery delays, please allow approximately 10-15 business days for your order to arrive".
