Bought this last month from Amazon.
Works perfectly. No issues, would recommend.

No issues with lag response time for chime on phone or conversation through intercom.
My battery is currently at 67% after 21 days with settings set to "balance". I get on average 4 rings per day from guests.
    It's also recorded 514 events.

You have a lot of guests!

Lol ye but it's also a new house and the tradies coming back to do reworks.

Postmen don't even press the bell these days so a bit useless to me

      • It can still send an alert if it sees the postman approach the door, ie detects movement as well as doorbell press

        • Yeah but that’s probably a use case for proper surveillance camera setup rather than a video doorbell

9/10 delivery I got no bell pressed it’s a waste of money

    • Have you tested this with a google nest max?

      Curious thanks:)

      • No sorry.

        • Thanks for confirming :)

I want this but it routinely seemed to get to $250 (sometimes with codes required) throughout 2021…

  • Interestingly the battery one still has the terminals to connect to mains power too - or at least the one we bought did.

    • +1

also +1 for these, great units. Got one for the in-laws as a quasi security cam for movement across their front verge + doorbell.

      • Also price matched on Amazon now too.

  • Does anyone know if these have also been updated to include HomeKit?

    • +1

Not last I checked, it seems likely that it never will be.

  • Got myself Eufy dual with Homebase from sydneymobiles on eBay using PMAY17 for $370ish. Can’t wait to get my hands dirty.

  • Does this support HomeKit Secure Video?

  • +2

I've used the Eufy system and the Google Nest doorbell and I have to say that the Eufy one overall is better. Had to return my Google one because it kept disconnecting from the network, had inconsistent battery life and only 3 hours of video history is ridiculous and borderline useless if you wanted to see overnight

    • good to know, was contemplating between these 2. I had Eufy disconnecting and battery draining within 2 weeks despite only a wall and a door away, the problem went away all of a sudden, could be a firmware update??

  • I bought this last week from JB when promo. I enjoy it very well.

  • personally would wait for the 2nd gen with dual cameras as I have deliveries coming in almost every second day

  • +1

Does anyone know if the reset issue feature has been resolved yet?

    • It's an undocumented feature, should be alright. No need to resolve anything for it :)

  • Any successful integration with home assistant?

  • +1

is this the lowest price so far? any chance lower more during EOFY sale as I am in no hurry?

  • Between this and the google door bell, which works better with a google nest max?

Is the feed and 2 way talk going to come up reliably and efficiently?

  • I need a new doorbell but to place at the external gate (along common walking pavement), can I prevent this from detecting motion so it will just chime and activate video upon pressing.

    • +1

Yes. Just turn the motion settings off.

  • Anyone knows the Max distance allowable between the doorbell and the homebase?

    • +1

Why don’t you get a cheap secondhand echo dot ($15/$20) where you need to use it as a chime further away and keep Homebase closeby for better performance?

  • it comes up as $299 on both Amazon and Bunnings links?
also is $270 the lowest for the duo?
