jimothyxrenpho
There has been a report by member @readonly of international exchange fee charged, suggest to pay via a card that has no international exchange fee.

EDIT 6.6.22 as at 530pm and Until stock sells out all bike orders will include a free smart tape measure. Tape is added automatically to cart at $0

##EDIT: 31.5.22 - orders are starting to ship now ! I've updated the post to reflect. Shopping times can vary up to 10 days.

After the recent popularity of this DEAL that ended up getting OZBARGAINED - and more interest from other members that missed out I reached out to Renpho AU and negotiated an OZBARGAIN exclusive offer for 15% off again for the Renpho Smart AI bike.

This brings the Renpho AI Smart Bike down to $680 shipped, by using the OZBARGAIN exclusive renpho ai smart bike discount code: jimothyxrenpho

At this point in time it’s currently on preorder. I’ve been advised stock should be shipping circa Mid June. Stock shops locally from Sydney.

I’ve got one of these bikes myself and I’m pleased to report I’ve been pleasantly surprised with the bike and the free renpho app that goes with it.

Quick look at features:

*Free renpho app for classes/courses/tracking

*Compatibility with other apps including ZWIFT

+Permanent magnet brushless servo motor which auto adjusts digital resistance/ Smart Motor Damping Resistance which supports FTP training * with advertised accuracy of ≥90%*.

*Freewheel pedal design which is supposed to be safer as it won’t catch on clothes/children etc

Still waiting on mine from the last time it was at this price, they told me no stock until early June.

    • They told me mid June. I don't necessarily agree with them over-selling in the initial deal.

      • I don't necessarily agree with them over-selling in the initial deal.

?? I would have thought people would necessarily disagree with them taking money for stock they don't have.

        • Yep they should have sold stock as per stock holdings then accepted any further orders marking them as backorder.

these are good for exercise but not safe to ride for commutes to work.

    • +1

The only way you’re getting to work is if you WFH with this bad boy

  • Thanks was waiting for this deal, they did say I could pre order and they will refund the difference but didn't trust it.

    • Nice, took ages to negotiate but glad we got there in the end.

  • Thanks Jimothy. Pre ordered

Hi Rep, when is the next massage gun post :)

    • +1
      1. I'm not a rep
      2. When there is an Actual bargain to be had as per the original purpose of Ozbargain. I am not a fan of spamazon/ozadvertising as you know.
      • +11

My apologies, you're definitely not a Rep because you replied.

        • +1

          Hah

          • +1

@Jimothy Wongingtons: I dunno man, how'd it feel selling out? Your like Metallica in the 90's, but with exercise equipment.

            • +1

@Nalar: The day I stop bashing spamazon/ozadvertising I want you or WN to take away my ozbargain gun and badge.

In defence this is actually a pretty Good bargain with no comparable option in same price bracket.

As for Metallica , yeah… I don’t know if they ever managed to top their 1991 self titled album tbh

I hope one day I can give back to the community as much as some of the other ozbargain greats

  • gee should be static bike or something like that, not just bike

    • +1

Does the absence of large wheels not sufficiently give it away?

    • If you like I can add clarification to post if you reckon it will help… I thought it was kind of obvious via thumbnail at least . Sorry for the confusion.

  • +1

Great work, OP! Love the effort.

As you are now a long-term(ish) user, do you have any other comments apart from what we've already seen on this previous thread: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/695047

    Pre-ordering now, thanks again.

EDIT: I wonder if Renpho are working on a V2 behind the scenes…

    • +1

Nice one mate - not really anything else to add. I’ve racked up 100km already and my misso has done similar. I did like how easy it was to swap between users.

As for a v2 I wouldnt really even know where they could improve, this does the job pretty well for a scrub like myself :)

      • They should add a USB-PD charger to recapture some of that expended energy.

  • Not dissing this deal, but you don't actually need an erg mode to be able to do FTP training. In fact, it's arguably better to learn how to control one's own cadence and resistance to hit and sustain a given output target. To do FTP training, you just need to have an accurate power meter, and an accurate FTP test score.

    • Thanks, tbh I had no idea. I don’t even know how to ride an actual bike let alone self control cadence and resistance… so in a way this is perfect for me.

as for accuracy , I did read a review by a bloke who seemed to know what he was on about that said accuracy is greater or equal than 90%..

      • You pedal faster/harder or slower/easier. 😉

The key zones 2 to 5 of FTP training are only 15 to 20% wide, so 90% accuracy is nothing to write home about here.

  • The zwift accuracy looks pretty bad lol

    • Honestly I haven’t even looked into zswift , the default app covers my requirements fine. I would like to know what I’m missing out on regarding zswift accuracy though if you’d care to elaborate.

    • is this from a review? could you link?

      • Their own webpage says its 90% accurate my kickr is 1%.
So if you're doing 150w this bike could show between 135w and 165w.
Would love to a see a review

        • +1

To be fair, wahoo kickr is $1299 cheapest price I can find online and doesn't actually include a bike.. unless there was some mega ozbargain special that eluded my google search.

There are some reviews online that agree the 90%+ accuracy of the renpho is legitimate. And lets face it, yes, that's actually average at best - but at $680 this is really not aimed at the intermediate/advanced biker.

        • +1

Right. Now say that your FTP is 155w, so you think you are in a mid zone 4. But in fact you could be anywhere between zones 3 and 5.

          • +2

@zbc: Look i appreciate what you are saying but I think we need to accept this is not going to be for enthusiasts…

For an overweight middle aged salesman with addiction to kfc, darts, cheap booze and 2 for $7 dare iced coffees like myself, ANY exercise is good exercise.

          • @zbc: "This non-pro thing doesn't do pro stuff" I don't think anyone should be hugely surprised.

            • @mickeyjuiceman: Right, but the point is simply that the OP should not be banging on about support for FTP training and power accuracy when they clearly have little clue what they are on about.

Edit: And if it's the manufacturer claiming that a device with 90% power accuracy is suitable for FTP training, then that's just deceptive and misleading.

              • @zbc:

                1. Does it support ftp?
                  Yes.

                2. Is power accuracy verifiably at 90% or better?
                  Apparently yes according to reviews

                3. Can you get better for less?
                  Doesn’t look like it?

I don’t know what you have against the bike or my content but genuinely asking -Did I made any wild outlandish unfounded over reached claim regarding above…?

It’s all from the marketing available from the website. If there is genuine concern over outlandish claims on the website or how it’s been conveyed I’m happy to forward it directly to their lead marketing and management.

          • +1

@zbc: Exactly, I don't actually have a problem with this.
Just needs to be stated before people buy

            • +1

@fadeinthemix: All good - I’ve also updated op to highlight ≥90% accuracy. But I would strongly suggest buyers look through the website to confirm their requirements will be met.

Any other questions I will endeavour to chase up with renpho marketing as required.

    FTP training

Well you can just use FileZilla.

  • Have they enabled bluetooth/external heart rate?

    • I use my apple watch 7 no dramas

      • So your stats are reported into the bike app?

        • To app and by extension apple health. Can’t comment on Android options … but I’d have to assume surely it’s same or similar

  • For those on the lookout for a spin bike with a similar feature set, check out this one (it's very new, couldn't find reviews):

    https://www.johnsonfitness.com.au/collections/new-arrivals/p…

My finger was hovering over the 'Buy' button before this Renpho deal was posted.

    • $1599 tho dangggg

      • but it's a spin bike with flywheel, which is important for some. Plus the rare-as-hens-teeth auto-resistance + 3rd party app compatibility, if I understand correctly.

        $1299 at a few sellers

        • Fair enough.

        • Echelon EX3 is highly regarded for a spin bike that supports auto resistance. It's also compatible with both Peloton and Zwift via the QZ app.

If you don't care for auto resistance but want the flywheel, Yesoul S3 is hard to go past from a value standpoint. It's made by Xiaomi.

    • Oh, you forgot to mention that it's more than double the price. Innocent mistake, I'm sure.

      • Nice try, but you find me a brand new spin bike with auto-resistance within $500 of that Horizon model, and I'll admit fault.

  • any wheel deals?

  • Any experience with this bike and the Peloton app?

    • I will need to confirm with them what the go is but I don’t see any mention of peloton on the Australian renpho website anymore which is strange…

    • The feedback from Renpho that Jimothy gets will be useful.
This from their website suggests that Peleton will be fine for Apple users.
Android people I think could use QZ which appears to work with multiple bike brands (and other fitness devices like treadmills) and multiple apps.
      https://renpho.com/pages/renpho-ai-powered-bike-connects-wit…

      • Just to update I’m still waiting for an official response. Marketing needs to check with app developer. I just found it suss that global site would list it but au site doesn’t. And yes if it’s still confirmed as working I believe it is iOS only s you correctly pointed out.

      • +1

        @mattp @toltec247

Renpho have Confirmed compatible with Peloton (IOS only).

  • I’ve been advised by Renpho that orders will start shipping again late this week or early next.

  • Update: bike preorder/backorder are starting to ship now I've been advised.

Thanks op, picked one up as I'm old and overweight, WFH so get no exercise and need to lose weight before my wedding

    • +1

Good on ya mate - The hardest step to take is the first one.

      Congrats on the upcoming wedding.

    • The best way to lose weight is in the kitchen, but exercise brings a whole raft of other benefits as well.

      • This is very true, calorie deficit = weight loss - but a bit of cardio does help in other ways :)

  • Just received my bike. Now to fight off this flu so I have the strength to set it up

    *le sigh

    • Keen to hear your thoughts mate

Ps I thought you went with one of the other brands?

      • No I was about to gamble on the Horizon model, then you posted this and I bought it in a flash.

I set it up last night but couldn't get the app to work beyond connecting to the bike. Every time I started a free ride or performance test, it showed me the screen with the cyclist graphic, but it was stuck there - I tried pedalling and pushing buttons like a monkey, to no avail.

This was on my iphone with ios 15.5
Also tried my ancient ipad air, but the app died every time i tried to log in.

Hoping it's all because I didn't open the manual and I've simply done something incorrectly. Yet to check manual.

The hardware/build quality is great, better than I was expecting tbh. And easy to set up - just the legs and bottle cage need to be screwed in, and the handle bar put in place. I was able to set it up myself, but would be a cinch with two people.

        • I set it up last night but couldn't get the app to work beyond connecting to the bike. Every time I started a free ride or performance test, it showed me the screen with the cyclist graphic, but it was stuck there - I tried pedalling and pushing buttons like a monkey, to no avail.

I had the same problem with my iphone - had to restart the phone and it worked after that.
when i originally emailed them about it, they also suggested if restart doesnt work, go to settings and disable and re-enable BT. (actually go to settings, not the pull down control centre)
It should fix itself after that - shouldnt need to repeat above steps.

my ipad pro and my missus' old ipad worked no problems though which was weird.

          • @Jimothy Wongingtons: Cheers for that. It’s weird that it works, but there you have it. Restart iPhone and the app works fine (for now anyway).

So far I’m VERY pleased with my purchase, so thanks again for organising this deal!

Airplay to the TV glitched and froze halfway through a program, but apart from that…fantastic, so far :)

            • @andresampras: Nice mate glad it fixed it for you. Hope they fix it in a later app update for other new users as well as further app refinement.

  • Anyone here who has bought and can recommend?

    • If no one replies this, you can try to pm the other members from this thread and last thread about it maybe.

Fwiw I love mine (that probably doesn’t mean anything though as I’m associated)

  • UPDATE:: 6.6.22 Until stock sells out all bike orders will include a free smart tape measure which is added to cart at $0 automatically

    • Can I use Renpho AI bike without electricity? Can I adjust the resistance without electricity?

I'm in between Renpho AI bike and Yesoul S3.

      Thanks!!

      • no it needs power to function

        • Thanks!!

  • Paid by credit card via Paypal. There are 2 transactions charged to my credit card account:
    1. Paypal $680 and
    2. $23.12 International Transaction Fee on $680

    Anyone else seen this ?

    • Ordered through au site? They should be charging in aud…

      • Yes. Ordered via your link above. Charged $680 in AU dollar. But there's an additional charge by the bank !!

        • That’s very strange I will chase up with renpho. I’m not a rep so I might not be able to get the answer asap for you.

Now that I think about it I used a no fee card to pay…

        • Hey mate renpho has confirmed there is no transaction fee… they’ve requested to email [email protected] to further suss.

  • I received my bike not too long ago, the circular console cover however was completely broken in transit. The light from the LED is pretty damn bright so can see why it's needed. Speaking with Renpho they told me to buy glue to stick it on hahaha, would of thought they could just ship me a part but "logistics limitations".

    • +2

will chase this up with Renpho for you. That to me is not really on for a relatively expensive product. Was anything else damaged in transit? If I remember right there styrofoam is quite thick…

      • Thanks Jimothy, I really appreciate it, nothing else damaged that I can tell, only that piece. Yeah I wasn't fussed by it but thought the suggestion was a bit odd, in the latest email comms I just saw, they suggested what glue I should buy and for me to send the invoice, not much of an issue but yeah, just a bit strange given the product and price paid tbh.

  • Doesn't appear the discount code works anymore. Has it expired?

    • Hm not that I know of - i. have submitted a report to renpho and will update asap

    • +2

whelp Ive heard nothing from them - so I will mark this deal expired for now until they fix it their end.

      • Ah I was about to pull the trigger!

        • +1

I’ve chased my contact up at least three times in 24 hours. Will keep trying tomorrow.

          • @Jimothy Wongingtons: Weirdly enough, I searched for this post again yesterday as I was considering it too. So I was a bit LOL once the discount stopped working, figured I'd jinxed it :-)
