PNY GeForce RTX 3070 Ti XLR8 Gaming REVEL EPIC-X 8GB Graphics Card $949 + $7.99 Shipping ($0 SYD CYC/ mVIP) @ Mwave

191

Seems like a slightly lower priced 3070 Ti. Although I personally think PNY cards are ugly. Limit 1 per customer.

  • Good price under $950, it looks almost identical with Gainward Phoenix https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/685642

Gainward has decent cooling, hopefully this one as well.

Absolute shit price given it's near end of it's life. 18 months ago I would've said it's good. For comparison the 2070s (same msrp and relative model) was sub $550 and some deals included a free ssd.

you say "near end of it's life" while people here still use 660 2gb waiting for prices to come down. I don't think it matters. You make it out like the card will be redundant when 4xxx series come out

Lol probably the dumbest comment I've ever read

Of course it matters. Do you want this gen not to be replaced with the following gen? At this rate nvidia will keep 3000 series at current prices instead of replacing them with 4th gen cards and simply sell 4th gen higher. Because people buy them for stupid prices.

Since negging my comments has censored them I've had to add a downvote to the product itself to prevent miners censoring negative comments

With Crypto tanking super hard, surely we should see prices drop dramatically in the coming weeks and months.

Good price but average card, would be better off spending extra $50 for better cooling models like gaming oc or vision.

Some say crypto tanking nvidia sold lhr unlocker to miners to sell more gpus. crazy talk. I'll just stick to vaccines have nanobots.

Gigabyte has got better cooling? are you joking? Palit is way better than Gigabyte

The guy is self admitted miner. Tells people he wants cheap cards to add to his rig (in a falling market :S), when in reality he doesn't want the value of his current rig to tank.

          • @Jimmy77: The guy is self admitted miner. - Yep and 200k others per the subreddit. I have a little rig as a hobby as well as being part investment. You saying it like it's a bad thing? I also have gaming setups for my family so they are used for gaming too.

Tells people he wants cheap cards to add to his rig (in a falling market :S) - And? You would be saying the same thing about buying BTC at $60k?

when in reality he doesn't want the value of his current rig to tank. - Literally have never said this or implied this. All my comments are reviews from cards if I would personally purchase and with experience of using my cards. My cards will continue mining in the bear market. You gotta stop projecting bro.

Your comments are fairly entitled expecting cards to be worth a pittance. But if you want to keep attacking me for being a miner it will show more about how you feel about miners than anything you say.

        • This is PNY not Palit.

          Also per this review:

          https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RrDyzdAMiHY

PNY Revel EPIC-X is a tier below Gaming OC / Eagle OC
Also Palit is same tier as PNY here.

I'm seeing people go "Brand X is bad because their Y Product is bad". Take Gigabyte for example. Their Eagle OC 3080 has terrible cooling. I have one. Fans too small, thermal pads are crap, don't disperse the heat. Also their psus were blowing up. Enough for anyone to go "Gigabyte is a bad company".

Cool, but I've also got a 3070ti Gaming OC and it's thermals are great. I'm finding manufacturers will either put their 3070 cooler on a 3070ti and struggle, or use a 3080 cooler on a 3070ti and it performs better. So their 3070 could be great but 3070ti could be shiet, but also 3080 could be shiet but 3070ti great.

therefore it's important to have independent reviews for each product tier like the attached video, it's not 100% thorough (he has cards that aren't reviewed with estimates) but you can find more reviews if you are keen.

Be mindful that Gigabyte might be flavour of hate today, but also Asus tuf 5700xt were dogshit, literally no connection between coolers and memory chips that ran hot. MSI have done dodgy shit. EVGA aren't clean. so you either fanboy a company pretending their shit doesn't stink. Or you find a product that suits your needs that you are comfortable with reviews that it isn't horseshit.

          • @Jazza2400: PNY made by Palit, rebranded card.

            • @Dhpongelc: palit bought gainward, palit and pny cards look nothing alike. the pny card looks like nvidia fe reference design with no overclocks.\

  • I am waiting like so many others to see what happens with the price over the next couple of months. $950 unfortunately is just a bit to much on my budget. I need it to be closer to $800.

That said its still good to see the prices going south.

@Jimmy77 clearly you have no need of a video card. I respect your opinion but feel it's a bit of a nothing comment. Even if these cards are set to be superseded soon, it is not a bad thing to pick one of these up for a decent price in today's market. As many have stated there are many factors that will probably push prices lower, over the coming month.

    • Thing is, this should be much closer to $500, given its capabilities, it's 8GB, it's closeness to EoL, and the capabilities that the successor cards will have at the prices they will be at. That's the 'decent' price for these cards, not double that. Hell, getting an ex-mining 3080 and running it till it drops is probably looking like the smart move at this point.

I DO need a video card, but personally I want something able to do 4k/60fps, with at least 12GB, and at the $500 mark - which will then work on anything I want acceptably till this 600W insanity has passed.

These prices are still price gouging on where things will be in a few months. And just think how pissed you'd be to pay double because you couldn't hold off…
