60

For a beefy 1200w platinum psu that has a customisable lcd screen on the side. Was $549 (although have seen cheaper) down to $299. Might be what is needed for next gen gpu's lol

12VHPWR is the new type of connector for upcoming power hungry Ada lovelace GPU's..

Existing PSU's won't be obsolete though, you'll probably need an adapter to merge multiple 8-pin PCIE cables into one super-saiyan cable.

Seasonic and Asus are offering this new connector cables for free. Not sure about other PSU brands.

This is good to know for seasonic. They are the best psu builders imo. They used to be who made units for corsair, silverstone, xfx. Not sure who supplies these companies now however. Superflower made a few too and are also a good brand.
It's good to see these companies look after their consumers like what a couple did for LGA1700 and their cooler mounts.

But how will you read the LCD through the smoke?

Hey I've heard things about this brand and PSUs

      Explosive things?

      • +4

Kaboomboom! That was limited to a certain series that has since been fixed. This line was not affected by such problems. It gave me second thoughts too but after a bit of research, i can say these are fine… plus they have a 10year warranty.
If they were affected by the explosive parts… spose you could say it's a cracker of a deal lmao

        • Does warranty matter if they try to not honour it?

        • I know very well that this model isn't affect by the explosive problem and the price is pretty good for its capacity.

But fact is this come from the same company who had explosive PSU and not honoring warranty

            • @Zcc1226: yep, you should watch this and determine what a joke of a statement it was that you linked.

FYI triggering OOP and shutdown certainly is not a issue what so ever, the issue is it should not explode no matter how many time you triggering OOP.

  • No gen5 ports - no buy. Hope more of those enter the market soon.
