  • how long would this power more simple demands like a nbn ntd, router and/or small nas?

does full sine wave mean pure sine wave?

    • +1

      Specs say pure sinewave inverter.

      • +1

that's what you are paying for and most likely dont need

    • +1

The blurb from APC says Pure SineWave.

Not sure if it's worth $300, when a similiar cyberpower pure sine 900VA is regularly $225 or less with free shipping elsewhere

      • The APC model does allow you to plug in an external battery as well as an RJ45 card for remote monitoring (card costs around $220 - $250 though).

      • CyberPower quality is suspect, check the recent posts here - https://forums.whirlpool.net.au/thread/9r2kvlk9?p=3

I have been running 3x always on APC Smart UPS units for 10 years with no issues except for scheduled battery replacements, which can also be done hot so there is no downtime

        • lol 1 person on WP might have an issue, a dozen people on there say theirs have been working well for years=CyberPower quality is suspect.

  • Good unit. Shame they’re only MEL/SYD C&C. More that $50 delivery to PER.

    • $40 for Brisbane 😮‍💨

you are literally shipping lead weights tho

  • APC Backups Pro 550 owner here. 12 years old, 2nd battery, currently looking after my 2 bay QNAP. The NAS shows over 1 hour runtime on battery, based on current load.

n=1, however they just work. Price isn't everything…

  • anyone looked at online UPSes?

    • You need to step up to APC Smart UPS for the full Online experience 👌

      • i thought so too, but even their Smart UPS range are not fully online, still line interactive. it's exhausting to try to find ones that are not rack mounted even outside of APC.

SURT1000XLI is the smallest tower style online UPS, 1000VA/750W for about $1.5K

    • +1

SRV1KI is the smallest box style online UPS, 1000VA/800W for about $900

      • thanks for these model #s! How do you find them? I had a hard time navigating their site.

i probably will get a pair of SRV1Ki, unless the SURT has some features I missed.

        thanks.

edit: i realised SURT has li-ion, which may make more sense, but unsure about safety/fire hazards.

edit 2: 27.8 kg (SURT) vs 10.6 kg. (SRV) , looks like weight is a deciding factor for me.

  • back to $349 :-(
