    Great deal.

  • Thanks for sharing.

Code if anyone wants it 92UQTQWMC5JGSI

Can anyone say if the reported fingerprint problems are real or overblown? It's one of my biggest frustrations in my current Pixel 5 (which has a terrible fingerprint sensor). I would upgrade if it was an improvement but not if it's similar.

    • +4

It's fine. Not as good as other phones but no big deal.

      • Yeah I concur.

    • +2

The Pixel 6 Pro's fingerprint scanner has improved a little bit for me but still noticeably worse than any other Pixel phone I've used (I have used the Pixel XL, 3 and 5). It is both slower and less accurate in my experience.

    • +1

When I had it, it wasn't as bad as what some people experienced but it's definitely not as good compared to Samsung's ultrasonic sensor.
Also, the fact that it emits a bright light whenever you use the scanner can be annoying

    • +1

My Pixel 5's fingerprint sensor is much faster than my partner's Pixel 6 Pro. Maybe you need to get your 5 replaced. Just reach out to Google and say your phone's heating up. They'll send you a bloody good refurbished one. I would avoid the 6 and wait for the 7.

I bought the phone and then found out about the fingerprint and call dropout issues.

I haven't noticed anything major. If my finger is wet the fingerprint wont work all the time (dishes).

I went from a Pixel 2 XL to Pixel 6 Pro. Best part is the camera. Takes some great shots.

      • I'm still on my 2 XL! waiting for it to die before upgrading. May I ask if your 2XL has had burn in issues with the screen? Mine's quite bad but still usable

        • Zero burn in issues, I've had this phone 3 years now at least. Only issue I have is that my usb charge port has no data capability, I can't browser my files on my pc.

    • +2

They were real, but have since been fixed/improved with software updates.

    • +2

It's okay. Not great but not a big issue either. It was better when it was on the back like on my old 3XL but there it is. You buy this phone for the incredible camera, uncluttered Android and constant updates from Google. It's great value for money.

    • It works but not all of the time. I'm a little disappointed as I always thought the rear scanner was better (like the one on the Pixel 2).

    • Call drops and fingerprint scanner issues still exist (on the latest May update). YMMV

      • I was getting heaps of call drops. Turn off wifi calls, that helped with mine

        • Already done that.

    • I would go back to the rear fingerprint scanner if I had the option, but I have very little issue with the P6P scanner. I'd say it works well for me 9/10 times and it is very fast in my experience. I just prefer the location of the back one & it is more reliable to work 10/10 times.

I think overblown, but then I've never owned the 5 for comparison.

Apart from some bluetooth issues which I think are now fixed since May update no other issues for me. Love the phone, wouldn't swap it for anything on the market right now.

    • +1

Overblown. I'm on the latest firmware and takes only a second or so for my finger to get recognised. This is with a plastic screen protector too

    • Yeah it sux, hardly recognises my print. I've come from a Samsung s9 and that was sooo much better. Good phone but i think i'll go back to Samsung after my 2 yr plan

    • +1

My pixel 6 fingerprint reader is actually usable, if a little slow occasionally, unlike the Samsung i had before which was utterly useless (and often corrupted the fingerprint database altogether).

    • Sounds like a headache, get a pixel 5

    • I've experienced the odd misread here and there, but nothing worth complaining about.

  • Cant see in my mail box…..
Can I use it in store?

Good to see many people sharing codes here. Just a tip: please report back here if anyone used any code so that it saves other people time and trying.

  • If you have a spare/unused code, please post it in the Megathread. All request/giveaway comments below this notice will be removed.

  • Myself and my gf both received codes and already given away.

This is the weirdest troll account

      • -1

No troll just trying to inform the good people of OZB

  • How did you guys get the codes in the first place?

    • +1

      In the email.

      • LoL. Do you need to sign up somewhere for this email?

        • +1

Go to the JB Hi-Fi home page and scroll down. Put your email in underneath where it says "GET INSTANT DEALS AND EXCLUSIVE OFFERS!" Then hit subscribe.

    • nothing so far.. has been 40 mins

  • +1

I have read reviews and all that stuff.

What are people's experiences with battery life?

    • +1

Battery pretty much flat out for me by end of day

Also I realise my phone overheats itself on multiple occasions. The phone temperature doesn't react well to games. It really heats up to uncomfortable temperature to hold the phone

If you are charging and playing game, that's burning hot.

FYI I play MLBB on normal resolution and FPS

      • Thanks for taking your time to answer

  • Great stuff op, cheers. :)

  • I just bought a Pixel 6 for 800 T-T

    • where did you buy?

  • +6

Pixel 7 coming in October, I'd expect a few deals between now and then, I'll continue to rock my Pixel 2 XL until then. The damn thing just keeps going, albeit with the battery saver setting turned on.

    • i wish mine was kept going. Its camera was shot and became useless to me.

      • How does a camera die?

        • camera app crashes, everytime try open it. apparently common problem with no known fix.

          • @bathuu: I guess you tried third party apps too? Or maybe even a factory reset?

  • -1

    7 is coming

So is Christmas, what's your point?

      • Ramadan too.

        • Don't forget Easter

  • This or the 6 for $799?

  • Odd, you'd think if anything they'd email all the JB Perks members with this?

    • +1

This is for people who are subscribed to receive marketing emails. You can sign up from the JB Hi-Fi home page

      • I have signed few hours ago and still waiting to receive the code. Is it something I am doing wrong

        • +1

No, I usually get their emails, nothing today, had to ask for a code.

Sales rep in store knew about the promo, but was surprised he had not received a code yet either.

          • @team teri: Same. I received other emails but not this one. Did you ask for a code instore and did they provide?

            • @Gidget: No, got one here from a fellow OzBargainer.

      • I signed it up ages ago and have been receiving marketing emails till yesterday, but no codes

  • Probably anyone's guess at this point, but has anywhere confirmed that the 6A will be sold in Australia, and approx. how much for?

  • This or S22?

  • how do I buy in store, with code, too?

    • Yup they'll just scan the barcode in your email or you can give them the code in store as well :)

    • Can confirm, they can type in the code.

  • That worked out perfectly. $999 after code. Had $750 of 15% off gift cards left, and the rest with 10% off GC. Brings it to $862. TRS will refund another $90. Final outlay $772.

    • Can you explain this a little further? Were those all gift cards you had purchased under previous deals? What's TRS?

      • Ahh…TRS, a thing from the olden days when there was international travel

      • Ahh, Tourist Refund Scheme. Thanks Google.

      • Yes, had stocked up on those gift cards in previous deals, knowing I'll most likely buy a Pixel this year and JB usually has them.

With specs and prices for the 6a released now, this is much better option for not all that much more money.

    • +2

Love it when bargains work out like this!

  • How do people get the code sent to them in the first place?

  • Jumped on it. been waiting for a decent deal for months. My pixel 3 was getting too noticeably slow.

Fingerprint sensor is fine, all fingerprint sensors were finicky with dirt and sweat, this is much the same imo.

Pretty happy so far. Only thing I'm annoyed at is that the call screening and hold for me feature doesn't seem to be enabled.. can't work out why.

  • What a good case for these?

  • Still a bit expensive for the pro. Will wait it out til 7 comes

  • Has anyone received a code recently just by subscribing a 1/2 days ago ?

    • I haven't received any, but used to always get the jbhifi deals in my email, and certainly none since last year. I checked my block list but nothing there ([email protected]) and I added them to the safe list too. Maybe it's random for some users only? I also tried signing up with my alternate email and I got the "you are subscribed email" straight away, but no deals yet!
