Ahh I’m not associated.. tricked the wrong box!

rather get a samsung tab s7+

    • +1

Rather get S8 Ultra for $1280.

      • Where can you get the S8 Ultra for $1280?

        • Wait for the sales

        • +1

Last bundle sales I got the 128gb S8U for about $1080 or so with "trade in". Granted I had to buy a phone, watch and buds with it. But it was basically 50% off retail for all the items

At this price point, I'd rather invest in an iPad. Moreover, Lenovo's have poor resale value.

    • +2

And an even poorer history of software updates.

    • -3

I wouldn't consider resell value on a tablet but iPads are fairly terrible as well. I sold my 5 months old iPad pro for a 20% loss, listing was up for 5 weeks with constant low balling.

      • +11

You lost 20% on an electronic after using it for 5 months? I’d say that’s pretty good lol..

        • lol thats amazing

car loses 50% the second you drive it off the lot.

Once you open a laptop or tablet you are going to lose 20-30% easily before you even use it

Hate to say it as Android user but yea, M1 ipad Air is in this price range

    • It's a 120 Hz screen

        • +3

          Maybe check before negging?

@deanylev: Why would I bother for such a mediocre deal? $999 for a tablet that’ll only be useful for 2-3 years if that thanks to Lenovo, or spend just a little more and get yourself a much more capable and longer lasting tablet that’ll be useful for many years to come. The choice is yours.

So you don't look stupid when the link does in fact say that it has a 120Hz refresh rate? It's important that you actually fact check before negging. Seems many struggle to do this.

The Lenovo Tab P12 Pro delivers buttery-smooth visuals on the latest AAA gaming titles thanks to its 120 Hz display refresh rate—even when you're playing from your backyard or patio. Accelerated speed meets ultra fast connectivity with the elite, WiFi 6-certified Qualcomm®Snapdragon™ 870 mobile platform that sets new standards for resolution, speed, and latency.

                  @ChineseElectronics:

You’re the one who looks stupid dropping ~$1000 on an Android tablet from a dodgy company (from firsthand retail experience), not me.

Where did I say that I've dropped ~$1000 on an Android tablet from a dodgy company? Please tell me where.

            • +2

@ChineseElectronics: As much as I like my iPad, iOS is not everyone's cup of tea, and iPads also do not come with OLED displays. Yes you can get a 12.9" Pro with a Mini LED display, which is comparable, but those start at $1649, which is approaching twice the cost of this Lenovo.

              • +1

@deanylev: Seems he's changed his name in favour of Chinese electronics. Where would we be without our Androids, iPads, iPhones and everything else?

Price in the iPad territory and wasn't this one from Banggood ~$500 few weeks ago.

I have been looking for a decent tablet however gone back to iPad 6th gen and surprised see it's buttery smooth and latest OS after 4 years plus.

Nope never been posted until now.

      • Ok my bad. it was 11" with sd870. Still a hard pass for this price with no guarantee of OS updated

        • It's already rolling out Android 12L for tablets instead of regular Android 12 so that's a good start.

    • +1

A comparable iPad (the 12.9" Pro) is $1649, so wouldn't really say this is "in the iPad territory"

      • Let's not kid ourselves, the only thing comparable is the screen size. Even as a purely android/windows user you can't really ignore the up-lift in longer software support, processing power and ecosystem surrounding ipad's that are priced in this bracket. Although android does have a big win in the desktop-like ui and user experience category.

  • You'd think in a tablet this size they could make the speakers front facing.

  • Isn't tab s7 plus going for same price at officeworks and jb is price matching.

  • +3

I bought this on Monday when Cashrewards had the 15% cashback so got it down to $849.

This already has the Android 12L and Android 13 beta available and was also name dropped in the Google I/O last week. So hopefully gets better support than previous Lenovo tablets. They officially only promised 1 update and security updates until 2024 but it's now got two major updates coming, Android 12L stable is meant to be rolling out next month according to Lenovo update matrix.

If anyone has questions fire away and I'll try and answer them!

    • What are your thoughts after you've had it a month? Do you use the project unity(wireless second display) function? If so, how well does that work? I'm considering buying this as not only a tablet but a secondary monitor for my laptop when I'm out of the office

  • Good tablet @ 500/600 price point. The OS is not on par with samsung's android. Issues with HD streaming and external SD cards.
