I get that 5g is the reason this is expensive.

But a cheap provider on a 4g plan is like $20 a month, how do people justify this?

    • They need 5g?

      • +3

Need isnt the correct operative word, want is.

    • My brother in Christ, if you have a use for a $500 jb card the jb $69 offer with $10(or more) per month discount offer works out to <$18 a month for a 12 month commitment and includes 5G and 80gb.

      • and that sounds pretty good, but thats not this 'deal'

      • And is on Telstra network?

  • pretty bad deal. optus is shit and 24 months. I wouldnt signup if they gave me $1200 for 2 years

    24 months & $600 gift card.. that's funny! 🤣🤣

Optus is still charging excess fees.

  • I talked to the salesman in nunawading store yesterday, the salesman offer me additional gift card, very good deal, try to bargain more gift card in store, better than do it online

    • how much was the additional gift card?

  • +2

Considering the JB/Telstra ones often go $69 12m for 150-200GB with $400-500 giftcard, how is this a deal?

    https://www.optus.com.au/mobile/plans/wa

This cheaper if you’re in WA. $27.50/month with 80GB and 5G available.

    • +1

Yup correct, I joined up because of this deal, Even when I am not in WA,

      • So you gave them a fake address in WA?

        • youre new to faking your address? howbout the recent PPV sales of Qplates, where you get to buy plates for $3.5k and sells it for $20-30k instantly. thousands of people fake their address (paid for qland address)

  • $55/month direct from Optus, no contract. You miss out on the gift card but no self respecting Oz Bargainer would buy anything from Gerry anyway.

    This should be a crime

No roaming anymore, no international calls, & 2yrs for $600 credit why would you sign up to this

    • +1

      I agree.

      Optus plans are rubbish now.

I'll be leaving them soon after being with them for a decade.

  • +2

Not sure why people are shitting on Optus when Telstra are asking minimum $65/m for a 5g plan?

  • Hardly normal with a 24 months plan? Nah thanks.

  • 24 months, no deal
