  • Great value, Bunnings has it for $200+

    • Seems like a lot of Makita tools have increased at Bunnings by a significant amount

  • You can get it cheaper here: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/12161657/redir

Edit: apparently its a different model but still be worth checking out?

cheaper one is a brushed motor - for $36 I'd say OP's is a much better driver

      Edit: clarification

Not really that great a price. Discount Melbourne Power Tools has it for $125 normal price each day.

    • Please provide a link?

    • Where is this place? Google is not coming up with exact hit.

How much is the battery and charger? Can it used with other battery, such as those from Aldi?
    Thank you

About $250 for a battery and charger. No you can't use other brands of batteries. These "skin only" deals are only worth it if you already have other Makita batteries

    • There are adapters, or if you own a 3d printer you can make your own.

But Makita batteries are very common with cheap Chinese tools, which also use Makita LXT compatible batteries often times.

Good deal. The only drawback on this model is that the speed can only be controlled with the trigger, which can be a bit tricky, especially if you're not that dextrous.

If you think you're going to use it a lot I'd recommend one with button-controlled speed control, such as Makita XDT16Z.

It will cost twice as much, though

  • Thanks for this. Bought.

I've had this specific model on alert at OzB for ages. Mostly the only deal I could find was when packaged in a set with a brushless hammer drill/driver, but I already have the one that is usually in these twin packages.
