Possible Return 77 Inch OLED TV to The Good Guys (Still in Box)?

Wanted to know whether if its possible to return back LG OLED TV still in box to Good Guys?. Its been 10 days now.

I came to know it does not support Kayo Sports and not compatible with Sony wireless speakers.

Has anyone tried refunding the TV ?

Update: Thanks for confirming C1 works with Kayo. Decided to keep the C1. Suggested my friend to do the software/ firmware update and see if it works for him.

Didn't managed to get in touch with Manager she is back tomorrow from COVID.

Did the salesperson tell you it would support kayo and would work with sony wireless speakers?

    • No he didn't

      • +1

Did you ask him before hand?

    • +1

Why doesnt OP simply ask The Good Guys?
Surely thats what any half intelligent person would do.
Do they have a 7 or 14 day satisfaction guarantee?
It would be subject to conditions if they did.

But "still in box" is not the same as "sealed box - never opened"

Its obvoius OP has already opend the box, removed and plugged in the TV, only to find out what OP now knows.
So if its not faulty whats the claim or reason for a return?
Just a change of mind from what OP says.

And hopefully the TV hasnt been damaged in transit, use or has been dropped which is a real possibility dear OP.

And would OP buy a TV that was obviously returned to the retailer?
Definitely not for full price anyway.

You underestimate the full influence of ozbargain. If Johnny had ozbargain forum discussion as evidence in the trial , it would have been open shut case months ago.

TGG trading terms: no refund for change of mind
Manager: no refund for change of mind
Some random on ozbargain: nah they should refund
manager: ok. U right, fam, here’s your refund.

        • Love your reply.
          Halarious!

I came to know it does not support Kayo Sports and not compatible with Sony wireless speakers.

Or was it because a better deal came along?

13 hours ago you were still keen

    • +1

      Nice detective work again.

    • -2

Not for that reason. I tried but failed to get that deal.

    • +1

Its obvious Op has set up the TV and tried it out
Changed mind and put it back in the box.
Note careful selection of words used by OP……(Still in Box)

    • Yup, the OP is a D*****, trying to return a massive TV because he found it cheaper somewhere else, and he is making up excuses because it doesn't support Kayo sports, what a scumbag.

      And also why would S
LG TV support another brand like Sony wireless speaker?

  • +4

It's a change of mind so purely up to their discretion.

The tv might just need a system update…?

    • Yes thats what store rep told me. It would be dealt as change of mind. Its upto store manager discretion who will be back tomorrow.

So if you have your answer why are you wasting our time?

  • +10

So you did no research before spending a shit load of money? Nice.

    • -1

True. Never thought of such issues unless friend enlightened. Being latest model assumed it would be flawless.

      • +8

That's like assuming that a brand new tesla would have apple carplay.

        • something like that

        • OK WHAT - it doesnt have carplay?

          • +1

@Jimothy Wongingtons: Might blow your mind that a $120k 200 Series Landcruiser doesnt have Apple Carplay or Android Auto.

            • @AdosHouse: Knew that about land cruiser , have seen it in person. Still surprised.

My 2021 sr5 has it and blows my mind it’s not wireless CarPlay / they didn’t put a quick charge USB port instead.

              • +1

@Jimothy Wongingtons: My i30 has wireless AA/AC and I freaking love it. I can leave my USB plugged in that has all my music on it, while using AA for navigation, and still play my USB at the same time.

It's just so stupid that Toyota kept the Landcruiser with 15 year old technology in it, and have only just now with the 300 Series made it a modern vehicle. But they still only did it because they are losing market share to other vehicles.

            • @AdosHouse: Yeah my brother put in an aftermarket to get it. Hey if you can afford $120k you can certainly throw another couple of grand at a better head unit.

Just as an aside though had a play with the original head unit. What a bucket of crap to put in a car THAT expensive! Mighty disappointing what is Toyota thinking? I got a better head unit in my wife's $40k Honda CRV!

              • +1

@Ramrunner: Toyota knew the Landcruiser would sell no matter what. Toyota simply became complacent.

        • Pretty reasonable assumption…

        • I got refunded for brand new car for not having electric seat day before the delivery day, so OP may have a chance lol

      • The TV is flawless indeed. No doubt about that!
But since you probably cant return it I suggest you get yourself an Amazon Fire Stick or similar which has Kayo available.
Simple fix really. Solution works with any TV.
And if the TV has Bluetooth (which most do these days) then I cant see why its not compaible with your Sony wireless speakers unless they are not bluetooth or you have no idea how to set them up.

    buy a chromecast……apple tv…..firestick……..anything.

    • yeah considering one of the options if they wont refund back.

      • What did the say when you took the tv back to them?

        • Store manager is back tomorrow from COVID. I would have to wait.

  • You aren't getting the delivery fee back and would probably have to pay again to have it picked up.

I came to know it does not support Kayo Sports

    https://help.kayosports.com.au/s/article/Kayo-on-LG-TV

and not compatible with Sony wireless speakers.

Seems unlikely Sony would make a product not compatible with the latest gen TV.

You can just say you have buyers remorse. We aren't going to judge you.

    • +1

Yeah they're going to have to pay for delivery back to the store $59 then buy elsewhere wait for delivery and to save what ? $150.. yikes some people just don't value their time lol

  • +2

It supports Kayo it's on my 77C1 also the tv does B.T out HDMI, optical but the Sony speakers aren't compatible.. ??

    • Thanks for confirming. Decided to keep it.

  • Exchange for a TV that does what you want rather than refund?

  • +6

    It does support Kayo….

I know because I watch Kayo on my LG

    • Thanks for confirming. Decided to keep it.

  • +2

You also get 30 days under the "know your rights brochure" even for change of minds if it is un-open and still in packaging.

    My LG OLED supports Kayo?

    • Thanks for confirming. Decided to keep it.

  • +1

Can confirm, Kayo app available on WebOS

  • +1

Seems like it does support kayo. Regardless, you could get an android TV device.

What type of speakers are they? I'd be very surprised that proper TV speakers don't have HDMI/earc support.

  • +1

Can confirm. 65" LG OLED here. Watch Kayo all the time.

    • Thanks for confirming. Decided to keep it.

  • As store rep said, may need to update firmware for kayo to work.

    • Thanks for confirming. Decided to keep it.

  • +2

Sounds like the OLED TV is able to watch the muppet show playing out in person around it

  • +1

Has anyone tried refunding the TV ?

What is the change of mind return policy? As this is your answer.

  • +1

literally just buy a $50 firestick max and you won't need your TVs smart functions. The OS on tvs are usually crappy and moreover you can sideload any app you want to the firestick.

    • +1

That should work with Sony wireless speakers

  • +1

I would still get Google TV or Amazon Firestick or both. My Sonic TV has chromecast built in, but it turned out to be an early version not even compatible with sbs on demand! I didn't think that was possible. But hey, plenty of hdmi ports!

  • LG OLED C1 will the Sony WH-1000XM4 headphones or Apple Airpod Pros connect to this tv?

    • +2

Any Bluetooth audio device will work with the vast majority of TVs these days. But to be specific, the answer is yes.

    • both work fine from experience

  • XM4's work fine with my C1
