Nothing against manufacturing offshore (these are made in China) but you pay the same price for uggs manufactured in Australia.

  Oh damn, I actually go out of my way to purchase Aussie made products. The more made here the better.
  
  There's often little transparency so I prioritise places that say it upfront. So at least this place has it listed on one of the two boots. But as you said there's local places that make them locally (and buy/tan locally) for the same price so I don't see why I'd support offshoring the process.

I purchased a pair of ugg boots last winter from “UGG Australia”. Excellent product. They are the ONLY ugg boots that are fully Australian. From all the research I did to the other Australian manufacturers get their leather tanned in China. This is the only place tanned and manufactured here. Often have sales of 20-40% off
