  • What happened to the Class 6 64gb micro SD? Have they been discontinued for some reason?

Any benchmark results for the 64gb class 10?

    • +2

      Hi atlas,

From what I heard, SanDisk will discontinue the class 6 range and focus on Class 10.

I have about 40pcs with me, very new stock. But unfortunately I haven't got any time to test it with benchmark output.

      Cheers

  • Is this Australian stock with SanDisk Australia Manufacturer's warranty or a parallel import with seller's warranty?

    • Hi ocujos,

I sourced them from a local Aussie supplier, i usually do warranty exchange with them directly.
SanDisk Australia will do the warranty if it's their stock.

      Cheers

        Thanks for the quick reply.
You've politely avoided answering my question, like a politician :-)

        Is this SanDisk Australia stock?

It's a Yes or No answer.

        • +1

          Hi,

If you mean if it's from an authorised distributor in Australia. The answer is No.
Distributors will not always have the prices i'm offering, that practically kills their GP.
We all have the same cost, i'm just passing the offers down with very minimal margins (eg. 2%-3%)

If you ask if the stock is located in Australia, Yes. We have them in Sydney and ready to be shipped within the next 1-2 business days.

          Cheers

        • authorised distributor in Australia. The answer is No.

the heart of the issue is - if the product works well, it's all smiles; otherwise, if you decide to ignore requests for RMA, the customer is unable to obtain support from Sandisk's genuine Australian representatives/distributors (Brightpoint/Ingram Micro).

        • Hi AlexF,

In fact, if the product is SanDisk genuine stock there are many importers that deals directly with SanDisk could do the RA exchange for us.
I mean business here so whenever there's an issue with the card, i ll replace it and i will bring the RMA unit to my suppliers or SanDisk importers/distributors in Sydney for an exchange.

          Cheers

Fran, just wanted to say that even though you accuse shoppingsquare of taking an eternity to ship their products because they are HK based, I ordered a class 10 SD card from them the same day I ordered a pair of those limited edition MicroSDs from you (they were definitely in stock at the time of order), and I received them both on the same day which was a couple of weeks later almost. Even though you are based in AU and they are in HK, it took just as long to get here. At least when you complain about overseas shipping they can come up with some excuse like customs holding your package which they have no control over. Yours was a letter envelope with a 60c stamp. It shouldn't have taken that long, unless you chose not to ship them until a week and a half later.

This isn't a complaint against you or anything. I like your deals. All I'm saying is, you (or others) can't criticize HK for taking ages to deliver your goods when it takes just as long for something coming from within AU.

Please don't take this personally. I still like and appreciate what you do for OZB and I hope you keep them coming.

EDIT: It looks like a bunch of you are still waiting on your orders from that 16GB H MicroSD deal. There's no explanation for why it would take this long if they've already been sent. They were just standard 60c mail posts.

    • +1

      Thanks for the input.
Another issue would be that if you have issues with your order that you need to replace or warranty it. It ll cause some issues, i prefer dealing with local retailers more.

Just to point out, our system had an error with overused of web server with big of orders coming in. Some orders are not showing up on our backend system and we took a day to two to go through every order manually to find them out.
We have upgraded them to a better web host last weekend.

Sorry about sending out 1-2 business days late, i was sorting out few thousands just with 2 pairs of hand (myself and another family member)
Give us some time and we will organize and improve our system to ensure all orders will get off within the next business day and get delivered in less than a week.

      Cheers

      • Just to put my experience,
I order the 16GB cards last time and I ordered on Thursday late evening, and received mine on Wednesday the following week. I think while not the best this delivery time was OK..

(for one of my friends who ordered the same deal it took longer…)

Also having said that I ordered the Shopping Square deal as well, but I like Memory City's deal better because this came with an MicroSd to SD adaptor. So this deal was better.

    • +1

response to your edit, i shipped out almost 2K of orders.
I have encountered case where i shipped on 1st from Syd to NSW and it takes 5 days to arrive.
Australia post delivery is out of my control, all i can do is to ring them up to see if the envelope is in your local post office or it was confirmed missing if it doesn't arrive to your place in (2-7 business days, Australia Post guarantee)

I hope you understand, i've sent out them on the 9th as all the goods arrived on 8th. I indicated on the post as well.
I believe there will be 1%-2% of the sale with problems.. (around 20-40 cases)
      *Lost in transit
      *D.O.A
      *Misplaced by Australia Post
      *Address issues
*We even had issues that Registered Post was signed by another guy in the same company and we had to compensate to ship another one.

This is very normal, it can't be 100% perfect and nothing goes wrong upon deliveries.
I am working hard on this to resolve all the issues that i received.

      Cheers

People forgot to consider that previously, MemoryCity deals started Thursday nights. The problem is, the first batch of those orders, if posted out Friday night is pretty much the same as posting them out Monday.

A suggestion for MemoryCity, get your stock ready early in the week and start your specials on Monday or Tuesday. This way, the weekend delay will not make people felt it took a long time to get items from a local seller.

      • +1

        Hi netsurfer,

Thanks for the suggestion & your input on this one.
Memory prices are usually adjusted on Monday, i usually place orders on Monday.
Supplier ship them on Tuesday, arrive earliest on Wednesday or Thursday.
So usually you ll see the deals coming in Tues-Fri, i will probably lock in a batch on Friday and run it on Monday to ensure all deliveries will get to customers within that week.

        Appreciate it.

        Cheers

        • Hi Francesca,

If the memory prices are usually adjusted on Monday, then it is best to keep doing what you've been doing (place orders on Monday). We, OZB people care a lot about prices.

I occasionally sell things on eBay so I know a bit about AustPost posting cycles (and that they don't always deliver on time). Unfortunately, not everyone understands that.

MemoryCity provide great products at bargin prices. Keep up the good work. Honestly, I don't think most people would mind a bit of delay (people need to be realistic, the deals you are offering are really good). The class 10 Sandisk Ultra SD cards (the latest ones) are fast (20MB+ write speed).

      • A suggestion for MemoryCity, get your stock ready early in the week and start your specials on Monday or Tuesday. This way, the weekend delay will not make people felt it took a long time to get items from a local seller.

Great suggestion please implement this and sell yourself better

You haven't said that you are shipping the adaptor along with the memory card. thats a bonus that I found out later.

  • Just placed an order on sandisk 16GB Class 10. Hope it will arrive pacefully since it's my first online order experience :) Also I'm wondering why some of sandisk class 10 having 30mb/s but the one I've order was 45mb/s ?

    • +3

      Hi,

SanDisk improved their Extreme HD Video series (SKU: SDSDX-…) to a 45MB/s except the 8GB capacity.
I will arrange to ship all the orders out by this evening.

      Cheers

    • I'm getting a bit worried when I read off all the replies above. How long it usually takes to arrive my address in Sydney area?

      • +1

        Hi,

For the orders today before 3pm, i will ship them all out today.
Please read my post above, the deliveries was out of the 2K orders dispatched last wednesday.
1%-2% of them are coming back to me with issues, i am doing my best to resolve them.

        Cheers

        • Thank you. all the best!

        • I ordered in the first batch of 500. I understand it's still a massive amount of orders to process for just the two of you, and I applaud you for being able to get through all that. But if it only took a few days for you to ship them out (which is very fair), I still don't get how it took almost 2 weeks to get here. Every time I've mailed or received a standard letter from AUS POST it only takes 1-2 days within state, and an extra 1 or 2 if it's interstate. If I post a letter before 5PM, it gets there the next day before 5PM if local. Interstate is another day or two at most.

There's probably a bunch of people waiting or already received their product but it still took longer than expected, but they just aren't saying anything about it.

Like I said, it's forgivable, just unusual. It doesn't put me off from ordering from you. I would still recommend you to anyone buying memory cards.

      • +2

        hey ff0605,
just individual input, ive ordered twice from mc and both times ive gotten my item by 3 working days.

        • Me too. There's just no pleasing some people huh.

      • +2

I am also another happy MemoryCity customer. Ordered many times already. If you are in Sydney, you should get the items faster (MemoryCity is in NSW).

It is the same for all OZB deals, order early and you will get them early.

  • I didnt know that SDHC goes till 64GB. I thought they maxed out at 32GB, and the SDXC specification allows 64GB+….

    • +1

      Hi,

64GB onwards are defined as SDXC.
Some of our title on the website isn't accurate, i will fix that up.

      Cheers

  • Hi.. the MicroSD 64GB is still $110 on your page.

    http://www.memorycity.com.au/sandisk/38-sandisk-mobile-micro…

Can you tell me where it is $74.80?

  • just wondering why the MiscroSD 64g class 10 is cheaper than class 6, am I reading it wrong or something.

    • I presume the sale doesn't apply to the class 6 range. Also puts into perspective the kind of mark up to expect when things are not on sale.

      • +1

        Thank you for pointing out.
I only have like 10pcs of class 6 left, focusing more on Class 10 from now on.

        Cheers

        • I don't think you're going to sell the last 10 pcs any time soon… ;)

          Are they being phased out?

        • Yea, i heard they are going out of SanDisk range soon.
I still have customers coming back demanding for class 6, that 10pcs may take a few months to sell off but still people are requesting for it without comparing prices :)

          Cheers

  • Can someone shed the lights on these 2 SanDisk cards both are 16GB:

    Extreme 45MB/s - $21.95
    http://www.memorycity.com.au/sandisk/28-sandisk-extreme-hd-v…

    Ultra 30MB/s - $26.95
    http://www.memorycity.com.au/sandisk/137-sandisk-16gb-ultra-…

Why the higher speed is cheaper?

    • I am currently running a sale on the higher speed (45mb/s) ones.
They are both SanDisk 16GB Class 10 SDHC cards, just different series.
Extreme are usually much reliable than the Ultra ones.

      Cheers

  • I placed an order for 2 compact flash cards on May 3rd and received in the post last week 2 mini-SD cards, with the wrong order number on the front of the pack. I emailed Memorycity on Monday and still haven't received a reply.

I need this memory for a wedding assignment in just over 2 weeks time.

I was about to email Memorycity again and try to get a reply but then noticed that they are busy taking NEW orders on Ozbargain. I'm obviously a bit frustrated by this. I hope that Memorycity can sort this out for me asap.

I haven't negged yet as I'd like to give Memorycity the chance to fix this…

    • Note that Memorycity have now contacted me, apologised and promised to send the correct order out by express post. Hopefully this will all now be fixed…

      • +1

As per Live Chat conversion, i will express post the correct ones to you first thing tomorrow.

        Cheers

    • Just email her. She's very quick. And willing to help.

Good & fast response. my iterm was shipped in 2 hours after the order placed.

  • Hi, I had some problems with the 16gb microsd from the previous deal corrupting some of my photos in my Samsung galaxy s. I was told to email you but so far nobody has responded. My order number is #1383. Hopefully this can be resolved.

    • I'm checking through my emails now, give me few mins i will get back to you.
      Maybe i overlooked your one.

      Cheers

      • I have tried formatting in my laptop and it still gives me the same results. Some of the photos on my phone still come out as corrupted. I have spent hours formatting, and refomatting and taking photos. The problem is still there. This does not happen with my other microsd cards, so there must be something wrong with this particular sd card. Why should I waste my time and money calling sandisk (I only have a mobile not a landline phone). Anyway, Australian consumer law says that it is the retailer who must fix the problem. This is getting to the point of ridiculous.

        • Sorry about that, i can do the exchange if you wouldn't want to find out the issue with SanDisk first. Some memory cards that are not functioning or DOA i will do without asking them to check with SanDisk.
I haven't receive any come back with corrupted photos so i suggest you to check with SanDisk.
I will get this sorted for you at my end

          Cheers

    Update:

Reading through this thread and seeing how hard you're working … I hope you get some sleep tonight..!

    • Amazingly quick delivery. Just received my order placed yesterday. Cheers ~

  • I know that you have Class 6 16GB Micro SD cards but is there such thing as a Class 6 32GB Micro SD card?
Would it make much difference for use inside a phone?

Trying to toss up the $22.80 for standard Class 4 vs danilochan's SS deal which features a Class 10 32GB Micro SD for $30.95 at the moment

  • Just received my order placed yesterday afternoon. Very quick delivery ~

  • Hi Fran, I ordered this #002929 I did not realized there is still a shipping fee ? can this be corrected as is stated free delivery.

    • Apply FREESHIP to get free shipping for all items.

    • Hi samsico,

No worries, i will get the refund sorted for you.

      Cheers

      • Hi Fran, would you please reply to my private message sent to your inbox here regarding a problem with an order I placed? Thank you.

  • order received, super fast one day shipping :)

  • Francesca, were these latest 64GB class 10 microSD cards from the same supplier as the last cards?

I got my 64GB microSD Ultra Class 10, but its very flakey…

At the moment I can't get my PC to reliably detect it, or to keep it connected long enough to run h2testw on it.

This is on the exact same setup I used to test the previous 2 64GB Class 6 cards I bought here. Both of those cards run without any issue at all.

This latest card as soon as I put it in and it got detected, then immediately un-detected itself I knew something was wrong.

Has anyone else been able to run a full h2testw on theirs? I'd suggest you do.

    • Looks like its DOA, I can't resurrect it despite trying multiple devices. The card is shown as 64GB, unformatted, and write protected. It looks like the controller inside the card is ok, but the flash memory chip is dead.

Have sent an email. Now to see what the customer support is like!

      • Got my replacement today. CAn't say I'm impressed at all with the length of time and chasing up it took to get done, not to mention the $4 I've lost now having to post it back.

AND NOW THE NEW REPLACEMENT CARD HAS THE EXACT SAME ISSUE!!!!!!!

So this is going to have cost me $8 now and about a month of pissing around. I also note that the cards are selling for less now too. Not happy.

        • Have the exact same issue with that exact same card. Maybe it's a faulty batch they've stocked?

  • Received 32GB class 4 card on Friday. Has an average write speed of 4.30MB/s
Funny that my old Kingston 8GB class 4 card bought 2 years ago pulls 8MB/s instead
Anyway thanks for posting the deal
