Awesome deal. I wish I was there.

Quick, tell Tasmania's Tourism bureau what it takes for ppl to wish they were there.

  • Good deal but I think only in your area.

  • Hey OP.. nice deal.. how much extra would you want for the postage/delivery to send it over to Vic? ;) I want 6 :)

  • 50% off, wow! I have a mate down there, might have to contact him to get me some.

    Sold out.
Other HVN stores will not price match.

    • Darn, sent an e-mail to a friend. He can only get their around 4pm, I guess to late now :(

      Not a surprise though!

    • I got mine from HN the city. But you could try HN Glenorchy or HN Cambridge Park.

    • How does one managed to 'sold out' itunes card? I thought the cards are just dummy and they activate it on the spot? And since the card itself does not hold any values, stores would have literally thousands of the cards?

I am just speculating, please correct me if wrong.

      • They can run out of dummy cards. They load up physical cards with preallowed values (so you can't, afaik, load $100 onto a $20 card). They don't print vouchers.

        • Can't imagine how they can run out of dummy cards if they stock thousands of them in the first place. I mean, it does not really cost them a lot to stock thousands since the cards have no value.

    • Not sold out at Harvey Norman Moonah. Just got $100 worth…for $50. Only available on $20 cards

  • Gosh, is that the city HN?

Any idea how much stock they have - I am guessing by this arvo they will be cleaned out :(

And if you cannot get those, there is always the old-fashioned way of recording from the radio (webradio) using Radiotracker etc. which is also legal.

  • Damn if anyone manages to con the other stores to match pls let me know. Need some iTunes card

Or Chilirec with explanation why it is legal and that the artists DO get paid.

    http://www.chilirec.com

    • LOL: "We often get the question of we exploit a loop-hole in the law, by providing a recorder on the Internet. However, this is not the case. Our ambition with Chilirec is to develop a modern tool that works just like old time's radio recorders."…And how's that not exploiting a loop-hole in the law?

      • And what is wrong with that? :-) Actually, most people here on Ozbargain try to exploit loopholes like claiming 99 HJ vouchers for example.
It is funny how people give my comments negative votes. It must be those people that have never recorded anything from the radio or from TV (on tapes/VHS). But hey, let them vote negatively - I just laugh about that hypocrisy.

        • My neg was for presenting that website as a legal alternative to a music store.

(And don't get me wrong, I am not defending the overpriced Itunes at all…It just really bugs me when music-makers don't receive what they deserve because of dodgy practices like this)

        • LOL i know what you mean Gallifrey I used to make awesome mixtapes back in the days haha.

    • if you want to record internet radio you can do it for free using free software, no need to pay money to chilirec.
P.s. if i make an online recorder that records Foxtel and i ask money for subscriptions am I legal?

      • There is actually a court case about this right now. Other countries' courts have ruled it legal.
Also, the basic version of chilrec is free. And yes, you are right there are lots of other free programs, too.

Half price apps again. Its been awhile since we had 50% off itunes

just nice for the new OSX update.

  • I've never been able to get iTunes cards for 50%. My best is 33% I think. I'll settle for 25% today

    • It happened once before - 50% off. Harvey Norman 30% off $30 iTunes cards + 20% off store wide + OfficeWorks price beat (with a bit of mis-calculation the staff did unintentionally). The only down side was that you had to buy 2 x 30 iTunes cards (or multiples of 2s). However, there were a few HVN stores willing to do the 30% + 20% last time.

Looks like a small number of non-TAS HVNs are willing to price match.

  • i like the sound of this deal

    Holey moley

  • This is a nice deal. Hope we will get this in other states as well.

The last time I had 50% off on iTunes cards was from WoW. I remembered Coles has offered 50% off as well, but only for customers who spend more than $100 on products in Coles.

    Thanks OP.

I just went in to Harvey Norman Highpoint (VIC) and showed them the receipt the op posted here.
Priced match no problems. I brought $250 worth, but there are still heaps of cards in stock.

    • +1

Lucky! I tried Harvey Norman Moorabbin (VIC) along with the receipt and they didn't want to price match.

    • +5

Car la la please post your receipt up too :)

  • Wonder if anyone has had success at QV in Melbourne city.

  • Cambridge Park only had them marked as 25% off

    • That's the standard 2 times $20 for $30 deal they have going…

    • There was no in-store advertising of the price/deal, you had to ask for it.

Sunshine offered 25% off as well. My girlfriend wanted them so she could get her Phil Phillips (American Idol) fill on so $30 for $40 is sweet as well considering this was only a Hobart-based deal.
